As I couldn't see myself jetting off somewhere warm this year I thought I'd tick off one of my UK bucket list.. Any recommendations on what to do locally? |

I expect to you'll be visiting "The Village" yes ? I'd love to go as I am a huge fan of The Prisoner TV show.

"We are going next week. My other half made me sit through the 1st episode of "The Prisoner" at the weekend as I had never heard of it lol. "
Wait until you see the final episode...!!!
I'm looking forward to it but I am thinking it could be quite damp... I'm looking to see what local excursions there are. I think there is a tour of nearby castles... |

Not sure watching the program makes a difference but made me laugh that he made you sit through it. Have a fab holiday |

I love Portmeirion. A lot of people just stay in the village, but the walks in the woods are lovely and the viewpoints are great places to sit and contemplate.
Aside from Portmeirion, Snowdonia is mainly about the wonderful landscapes and walking. Harlech Castle is nearby though, and is particularly impressive castle.
If you like activity sports, Coed-y-Brenin is one of the finest mountain biking centres anywhere, and there’s the zip wire and surf centre too.
Mainly though, just bask in the landscapes! |

I quite like the idea of going to Harlech castle. I'm looking forward to the scenery... I just hope it's dry! (Don't mind cold, but not a fan of rain...) |

"Surf Snowdonia? Surfing on a lake.... mad."
I dunno, people seem to enjoy it - Ive never been. I imagine it’s a good option if you’ve travelled a long way with six surfboards strapped to your campervan and it’s flat calm all week |

I walked across the beach at low tide last time we were there, not exactly sure what it’ll be like in November mind you. We almost bought a house above Harlech Castle which overlooked the whole bay & the village on the other side. Unfortunately a little above our budget & they wouldn’t budge on price.
Enjoy your break ??

I'm definitely looking forward to my visit. I went to Iceland for my last big birthday and their weather wasn't bad, so hopefully everything will work out fine! |
