Not sure how much of this is BS or even the truth, but I’m about sceptical when some one told me blacks and other ethnicity are at higher risk than others, any medical professions here who can back this up? |

This was discussed at the daily briefing yesterday that the BAME community are dispropotionately affected by C19 and up to twice as likely to die from it (I think Bangladeshi people being named specifically one of he highest at risk). They couldn't offer an explanation as to why. |

"Strange, humans are humans, shouldn’t effect by race. Is Covid even real "
Is covid even real?
Where have you been this year?
Despite ethnicity, a lot of the problem is down to socio-economic conditions of where and how people live, and it would appear that BAME people live in the most dense and poorest communities with a lot of cultural socialising that you may not see in other communities |

Just doesn’t make sense, how can you be at a higher risk due to the race? Fair enough health conditions, just makes you think that this could be a man made weapon that has leaked out. But hey I’m no scientist. |

The fact is that a lot of ethnic and darker skinned people have a deficiency in vitamin D. This is because of their high levels of Melanin. It has been proven that a deficiency in vitamin D makes corona virus hit harder. |

Yes we are all homo sapiens, but we can have ever so slightly different genetic build ups due to evolution through the thousands of years. So things that perhaps can make BAME more resilient against certain things perhaps can make them weaker against others! |
