Our surgery isn't seeing people in person unless a dire emergency, telephone appointments only or video consultation if needed. No idea if a contraceptive injection would be considered an emergency? It's been hard to get routine repeat prescriptions too. My meds are schedule 2 controlled so they will only issue the script a week before I run out. All pharmacies here have more than a week turnaround time on repeat prescriptions sent....... |

Im glad im snipped... however when I got a call saying my implant removal was cancelled I was offered condoms/pill just in case xx |

I still have tons of midwife pals and we chat regularly! The general consensus is yes, there will be a boom.
September is the busiest baby boom time of year because of people being off work and drinking the Christmas before. Similarly, people are off now, no doubt there will be more drinkie poos for some people..boredom, more time, less stress..they all amount to more sex!
You may wonder why drinking is a factor. If you drink heavily in the evening, have taken your pill around teatime, then vomit later on due to excessive drinking, there is a chance the pill won't work. Also drinking can make ladies forget to take the pill or hit the 'fuck it' button.
So I think we will have a boom in September as usual and December onwards due to Covid.

Not an emergency no but surely as it's time critical some sort of arrangement should be made for women who rely on it?? |

These are not easy to get hold of, believe it or not. There was a press piece on potential shortages due to the factories closing in Malaysia and there was panic buying. The shelves are rather bare in our supermarket, or at least were on Friday. We have a stash fortunately and I don't use hormonal contraception anymore, but remember people are using contraception to control conditions like endometriosis as well as for preventing pregnancy. |
