Only when it's impossible not too.

I've not witnessed anyone really breaking them.

When people are allowed to be out for an hour a day. And also none of us knowing who is doing what because even small groups could be living together, then it’s very presumptuous to believe we know otherwise. I understand some may be blatantly ignoring guide lines. To make a post asking what demographic is a good way to create more divide. If there has ever been a time for unity it’s now. Take care

Genuinely haven’t seen anyone flouting the rules, thank God, but then again I don’t live in a high footfall area so that’s not reflective.

Older people, over 70. In our street they're going out several times daily and receiving visitors. I've been to the supermarket once in the past week, younger people kept their distance a lot of older ones using the well known protective device the floral chiffon scarf over their mouth, did not!

Maybe these people know something we don't

I think this is the case. My next door neighbour who is over 70, keeps on having her grandchildren over (the latest was last Saturday). It might be that their parents are doing errands for her, but does the whole family need to go? Furthermore, my neighbour is still going out occasionally, so can’t be self isolating. She should know better, having family members in the police, so she has claimed.

I walk our dogs in our local park and the biggest rule breakers are teens in groups and young families with toddlers, kids on bikes. They are having picnics, sitting in large groups and generally think that this is an extended holiday.

Mostly teenagers, going around the village in big groups, also elderly people who don't keep their distance even when asked !

Neighbours to a family member over 70 isolated had two cars filled with adults and kids arrive Thursday night.

The adult males around 5 of them were later seen in the conservatory passing a shisha pipe between each other.

Their parents visit them every two days and regulary see the guys car parked at his parents near where I live.

His wife is an optician currently working emergency appointments mainly on elderly patients.

Should I report it to the police or send annon letter to let them know it has been noticed or leave them to to face the consequences of their actions?

They are friendly and good to my relative and dont want awkward times later on.

I had to go out to the vets to get some medication for the 4-legged fiend...of the vehicles on the road (a little less than normal, that's all) I'd say a good 50% were 70. Also, the village shop, which I can see from my home office, is visited in the main by the same demographic. Also, I went out on my mountain bike (I live in a very rural area) and came across a man walking down a country lane - basically he leapt into the hedge on my approach!

Do what you think is best and what you will be able to live with going forward. I would advise against sending anonymous letters though.

Can someone explain to me how the virus is transferred when folk are out doors and well spaced apart. What difference does it make if you go out once, twice or five times. There maybe a logical scientific explanation but really cannot see it.

Gangs of youths loitering together

A couple about 45 years old actually knocked my 11 year old daughter onto the road as they stormed past full of self worth 3 days ago

On the same trip out two runners shouted for my daughter to go onto the road so they get past. One actually put his hand on her shoulder

Unless you are a bit dim then you should heed the warnings and go out just the once at the most

The more times you go out then the more chances you have of catching it as someone goes past etc or you in fact giving it to others

Have read what you have written and understand it but it is not an explanation of how the virus transfers in those circumstances. Remember I said out doors ate safe distances, no contact with other objects.

If you go out for an hour or you go out for 4 x 15 minute sessions to my the chance/probability remains the same.

I think it’s more to do with limiting the number of people outside at any given time which makes it easier to keep your distance.

Yes, I can see that. Therefore a much higher probability of staying separated if you are out in open country... Just being out, in itself, poses no risk...

If everyone went out 4 times then everyone in those 4 times could catch a breath of someone coughing etc

More likely to bump into the same people on those 4 times (if everyone took that selfish view) and hence risks are expanded as it is all about probability which increases on quantity

Take a sheet of paper and work it out. It does not take my BSc or MBA to be be able to work it out.

Also not everyone respects the distances

Where I live people ignore it.

Also I keep seeing people saying an hour a day there is no time limit on how long you can exercise for.

Just that its once a day. You can also leave the house for food..and medicine and to care for people.

Those people that some are reporting.. could well be going out to help people.

You can also if you wanted to... take the dog out and then go for exercise.its only been recommended that you combine the two..

It's minimal at the moment although there is still a risk, the transfers that are sadly killing people today will more than likely taken place several weeks ago..

Post transfer there is incubation them the period where the symptoms are there then if those symptoms worsen then hospitalisation and either recovery or sadly death..

And there's so many differences in each of those periods with different people depending on their individual health etc..

Hence the current lockdown which will continue for several weeks yet..

Not here

Older teenage kids on bikes, who despite the endless cycle lanes that have been built in this city and the roads being as quiet as they probably ever will be short of a complete lockdown, still insist on cycling on the pavement, making you give way to them. I’ve decided it’s easier and safer to walk in the cycle lanes!

Oh and the brain dead who no message will ever get through to!

If I had actually named the individual, you might have had an argument... But I didn't.

Now I don't know if you have noticed, but the chaps at Fab hold a very dim view of people who are actively trying to meet during this time.

Fab has taken the very responsible and appropriate action of actively discouraging people to meet at this time. In fact it's seen as a violation of Fabs current terms and is a reportable offence, something of which I have done simply to save the individual from them self. As you have seen on this thread, my sentiment for this persons well-being and naivety is shared by a few other members. So for you to come along and tell me to mind my own business is both ignorant of Fabs current take on things and arrogant in that you think you can just dictate to people what they can and can't say. You may have been a boss of your own company, but you're not a boss here. Curb your ego fella.

"Can someone explain to me how the virus is transferred when folk are out doors and well spaced apart. What difference does it make if you go out once, twice or five times. There maybe a logical scientific explanation but really cannot see it.

I think it’s more to do with limiting the number of people outside at any given time which makes it easier to keep your distance.

Yes, I can see that. Therefore a much higher probability of staying separated if you are out in open country... Just being out, in itself, poses no risk..."

It lives on shoe soles for up to five days.

You walk through a gate and touch the top. You’re infected. I walk through and touch the same spot. I’m now carrying it on my hand. I go to Asda. I keep my distance and play safe. I touch a shelf as I reach for something. Two days later the virus is still alive on the shelf when someone else accidentally touches it. They carry the virus home and have contact with their essential worker partner who then carries it to work on their clothing. The Asda staff touch the dirty shelf. They carry the virus home to their family.

Look up the glitter analogy.

all well and good.. but what chance if I'm going somewhere that I'm not seeing anyone else.. I'm walking remotely... there is little chance of me passing it.... and if I'm in my car by myself. There is about zero chance of me passing or catching anything.

Yet as you have just pointed out. I'm most at risk at the supermarket... yet till a manager allowed me to do all my shopping in one go. I was having to go 8 times a day to 8 different shops

Really have no desire to have a disagreement with or you anyone else on FAB (or for that matter IRL). I am very much a "live a let live" kind of guy.

I do not have much of an ego. My business was a one man affair.

Clearly this is Fab forum, their show, their rules and if we wish to be a on here we stick by them or we may receive our marching orders. When it comes to two individuals deciding they wish to meet one another, that is their affair and, with respect, nothing to do with you or I. Be assured what ever you or I think, there will be individuals who decide they wish to meet. Their business not ours. Would I do in in the present circumstances...NO !! What others decide to do not my business which is about where we came it.

I wish you and yours well. Stay safe..

No problems with you asking and to be honest I am not sure what I would do.

Who would I report them to ?? After all this, I would still be living next to them... I know the odd few people are doing it but I take a positive view and look at the millions who are doing what has be suggested. There will always be the "outliers" in any society who do not conform to the rules.

Broadly agree but the outliers influence the conformers-the consequences of the herd mentality.

In this instance where the objective is to control the spread of a deadly virus we can't tolerate deviation from the issued advice, at least not at the present time.

I’d absolutely phone the police on people showing no regard for the lockdown restrictions in place.

My reasoning? It’s bloody selfish and endangers others besides potentially increasing the strain on and doubly jeopardising already strained emergency service resources.

Just stay at home for God’s sake - you’re not invincible and even if you get the virus but don’t succumb to illness you may pass it on to others who are less able to fight it off.

How many bloody times do people need telling?

Will it take people’s own relatives being victims for the message to hit home?!

Unless you are a bit dim then you should heed the warnings and go out just the once at the most

The more times you go out then the more chances you have of catching it as someone goes past etc or you in fact giving it to others

Simple maths and simple looking after not just yourself "

It depends where you go out... very difficult to truly isolate in an urban environment... meanwhile I have been outside all day and haven’t seen another person except the postman from a distance

Have read what you have written and understand it but it is not an explanation of how the virus transfers in those circumstances. Remember I said out doors ate safe distances, no contact with other objects.

If you go out for an hour or you go out for 4 x 15 minute sessions to my the chance/probability remains the same. "

Think it's just to cut the number of people outside at any one time.

In my area it does tend to be the older 70+ folks who just seem to ignore the rules.

In supermarkets, they are a nightmare, ignoring the one way system, one chap had to be shouted at by a young couple for turning back and almost pushing them out of the way to get some sweets.

If I was a pensioner I'd keep well away from pensioners only hour in supermarkets.

We are all part of the "Economy". As I said above he is earning his own cash and not dependent up any Govt handout.

Some people want to be independent and take care of their own needs. To my mind the risks he is taking are relatively low. We all have some degree of risk. I take some risk I go out to shop.

There's nothing to stop him working.

There are Goverment guidelines on how work should be conducted. As long as he adheres to those, then he's doing nothing wrong.

My window cleaner has no contact with anyone when he's about his business, and is paid online.

He earns money and subsequently spends some of that money at other business's e.g the supermarket, online shopping companies who are trading, the corner shop etc that's the definition of "the economy - the state of a country or region in terms of the production and consumption of goods and services and the supply of money.

Like another poster said those working currently are not just Key Workers!

People are still having to / are able to work in none key worker roles as long as social distancing rules can be observed at all times e.g 2 meters apart and the work done is such that it cannot be completed from home. This guys job could easily fall into those parameters.

People have bills and commitments this guy is doing what he can to survive during unprecedented times, he is not relying on benefits (which is absolutely fine if that's the only option to you atm as that's what the system is for).

Some people are getting way way to judgmental, what's worse is when they judge others without properly understanding the very rules which they are trying to apply and judging others by!

KJ x

Stay safe peeps

Here’s why you should report this person: collateral damage.

Imagine for a second he was to flout social distancing guidance during the lockdown and then go on to accidentally and unknowingly infect another 2 people before he realised he was ill.

That’s now 3 people who might well take up very precious beds in intensive care units across the UK.

Nip it in the bud now.

kettering

We both work in food retail and can honestly say that all ages are going against the advice and rules. Alot of OAPs are going against the advice of isolating, many will come in just for a paper or lottery (not essentials) and the younger to middle age groups are the ones who are breaking social distancing rules and pehaps stretching the rules for their own benefit or just straight up not listening.

At the moment there isnt very many actual rules but there is alot of government advice on what to do/not to do, the more People go against the advice the more likely they are to turn them into rules with fines etc.

Remember the virus can linger in the air so you may be 2 metres away from someone but if they sneezed into the air and then you walk through it you could potentially catch it. The amount of people still using cash is awful aswell, cashiers can sanitise their hands but not every coin and note which then means your pocket/wallet etc is now contaminated. Gloves are one thing that makes me laugh as I swear people think they make them invincible however most seem to happily touch things in them, then touch phones which they then put against their face.. if the numbers keep rising there is a good chance that NHS staff will need to make a decision between who gets the life saving equipment and who doesnt. There is no guarantee you will be the one they decide gets to live.
