Other than the cock up with the EU procurement of ventilators (which may or may not prove costly, it's too early to tell) I for one think both he and his staff have done a very good job at dealing with this crisis so far, the scale of which is impossible to prepare adequately for.
I for one wish him a speedy recovery.
And I didn't vote for him in the recent GE either.

I think he’s doing pretty well, they have to use the science and the data they have, else it’s just guesswork imo. you can’t say he isn’t committed either, maybe it will make people think that if even he can get, it then maybe, stay indoors and do the social distancing |

When the pubs were open but no-one was supposed to go in, etc. He looked like he thought he was still on Have I Got News For You. Got better enforcing the lock down though.
I certainly don't accept that he was born to rule but obviously hope he gets better asap.
Ultimately how much do we want people who wear tee shirts proclaiming 'f*** the NHS' presiding over us? |

"Easy way to get tested with just mild symptoms, isn't it and for his workmates.."
To be fair, I'd say it was pretty important for the people in charge of the country to know their health status a) so they can protect other key people around them and b) so contingency plans can be put in place if his condition worsens. I'm not a Boris voter, but we need stable leadership at a time like this. |

I suspect.
plenty of people here in the uk have been ill with this virus.
what we all would like is that anti-body test to arrive quickly.
then some could return to work, get back seeing family and grand kids etc.
my business is now starting to feel the pinch because Harley Davidson and indian motorcycles have closed down more or less so getting parts we need for bikes is difficult.
what is surprising is that im having no trouble getting parts in from germany who seem to be dealing with this with all the efficacy youd expect.

"Half the people in the UK has probably had it. No big deal"
No they haven't. The virus circulating in the country before Christmas was nothing to do with covid-19. Yes it was horrible, yes in many ways it had similar symptoms - this is because all viruses operate in much the same way on the body, the final symptoms basically depending on the internal race between viral multiplication and the bodily defence system. However the winter virus was nowhere near as contagious and most people had high levels of pre-existing immunity.
The most convincing indication that covid-19 is something completely different though is given by the spread patterns that have been tracked across multiple countries. In every case there has been an exponential spread from an initial point of infection, in every case traced to single individuals arriving in an uninfected area from an infected area. This pattern is totally indicative of a pandemic caused by a new disease which human beings have had little or no previous exposure to. |

Stats for today - UK Almost 3000 new confirmed cases , 181 deaths bringing the total deaths to 759 and still another 5 and half hours.
If you are not taking this seriously now you are brain dead.
take a look at worldmeters.info site for updated information .
almost 27000 dead worldwide with around 22000 reported as serious or critical, and those figures are probably lower than the true numbers due to reporting being slow |

So the PM has it; the Health Secretary has it; and Prince Charles has it. In all cases it was suspected and they all got tested.
We clapped all our carers yday but they can't get tested and are just told to self isolate and hope it's a mild dose.
The only way to slow and halt this virus is to test and contact trace so what is good for one is good for all. |

Do you not consider Boris and Matt Hancock key workers in all of this?
I certainly so, both guys doing a great job, we need them to be in charge, if they werent tested they would of just carried on working infecting all of the team.

"Seen a tweet saying notice how all the celebs, people in power who have contracted the virus only have mild symptoms.
Makes ya think. "
Not really, most people will that get it will only exhibit mild or be asymptomatic, its the other 20% that it can be severe or critical for.
Researchers are still trying to working why this is the case. An analysis of patients in Wuhan suggests it may be correlated to blood type. |

I'm still not panicking as it is 0.00039840637450199205 of the worlds population... yes it's bad. Its unlike anything in our lifetime. But..... I'm not worrying about it as yet. Yes I'm following guidelines... but I honestly think that it if we tested everyone... that the fear around it would lessen. |

On the news even as I write...testing for NHS staff begins now. It wasn't happening before. So they were tested when we weren't doing the same for doctors and nurses. PM or not that is not right. I still believe the Winter flu that GPs ignored was the start of Covid-19 - same symptoms and in our area spread extremely fast! Mid-December I caught & felt awful - spread like mad through work colleagues & family with my wife ending up at hospital. |

Why didn’t he & has still not shut down entry into the UK when he restricted the movements of our own people - we still had flights entering into the country from countries where the toll was high (China, New York, etc).

It's unbelievable that people think he has done a good job.
Rest of the world follow WHO guidelines. We opt for herd immunity but the scientists incorrectly model the disease and then backtrack.
WHO say "TEST TEST TEST". We don't.
We don't have enough ventilators so, rather than accept responses from UK manufacturers of ventilators, UK ignores and accepts offer from Dyson to manufacture 10,000 of them despite the fact they've never made a ventilator before. Also, Dyson Tory donor and brexit supporter.
UK government clearly wasted 2 months advance warning. Even when it started to hit Italy hard 2 weeks ago, we wasted more time which will undoubtedly have resulted in hundreds / thousands on unnecessary deaths.
But, some people still think he has done a good job. |

Hi Hun, I totally agree that the symptoms matched perfectly & my wife ended up in hospital due to breathing issues.
I hope u r feeling better now & coping with the lockdown x" all better now.. and coping by helping others to keep me busy x |

A hero for ignoring advice and guidelines from WHO? Or taking so long to test front-line workers?
What specifically do you think he's done that's heroic? |

"you kinda need to protect the pm... as otherwise it will be anarchy "
No it wouldn't. He regularly vanishes at important times.
Government shuts down now and again.
The country carries on as before. |

On human terms it's unfortunate boris has covid. But. In political terms we've been doomed before we even started. The NHS is a shadow of itself. So it's hard to feel sympathy for a man that probably has the best private healthcare available on the planet. We're ruled by an elite class and he's their boy. |

Only two ways will prove effective one Total shut down ok BUT you would have to shoot ppl here and 2 let 90% of population get immunity And the best way to do that is to reduce the population Seem it is clear who should volunteer to go for the sake of the rest and it isnt the sick and old |

Annoys me that Bojo and Prince Charles get tested right away, and they only have mild symptoms anyway. They could have just self isolated. Yet frontline NHS staff have not been able to get tested. Did they want to show us anyone can get it or something? Country has its priorities all wrong. |

"I suspect.
plenty of people here in the uk have been ill with this virus.
what we all would like is that anti-body test to arrive quickly.
then some could return to work, get back seeing family and grand kids etc.
my business is now starting to feel the pinch because Harley Davidson and indian motorcycles have closed down more or less so getting parts we need for bikes is difficult.
what is surprising is that im having no trouble getting parts in from germany who seem to be dealing with this with all the efficacy youd expect.

I still believe the Winter flu that GPs ignored was the start of Covid-19 - same symptoms and in our area spread extremely fast! Mid-December I caught & felt awful - spread like mad through work colleagues & family with my wife ending up at hospital. I think so too. What I had just before Christmas matches not just a little bit but perfectly.... I wasnt sneezing but the cough... and the temp. I had to have my fwb take me to the bathroom as I was so weak. Good on you - I signed up for NHS Volunteer but as yet not had chance to help as flat out at work with minimal staff sending supplies including many key workers.
Take care x |

"Can’t believe how many people have fell for this
Biggest publicity stunt yet
All though I quite agree with the bigger picture
It’s probably the best way yet to get these picnic area idiots to stay at home "
Precisely.
Next they'll announce that Larry the cat has it and is self-isolating but is still carrying out with his duties as the No10 cat.
"Oh poor BoJo/Hancock/Raab/etc! They got ill too! So, if things go more to pot that they already have, it's not their fault. Blah blah".
Cummings in full spin mode. And most people still believing that everything that shines is gold.

I want all frontline workers to have access to the test and I do get your point about Charles but Boris is the Prime Minister and has a country to manage with his team. It is right that he was tested in my opinion.
Once the test is taken I presume the results will say you have had it or got it - if it is negative then you could still walk out and catch it from the next person you meet. They won’t test you every time you go to work. |
