I think its awful, surely as the national news broadcaster the BBC should have information on it!
Its a disgrace, no updated facts or figures from the briefings, symptom pages are very poor and dont show symptoms until very end.
Unless there is an opportunity to embarrass the government they dont report it.
All news on USA, Spain and Italy
Detail story on a usa sperm donation
Friday night dinner
Wives cutting husbands hair
Ffs its shite i say Bollox
EDITORS you are a disgrace and we all know you are deviants so are likely to read this |

That's not exactly a huge number. When it hits over 50 I'm sure you will get a story. Most at the moment are stories about individual examples like the 21 year old with no underlying health problems. |

Not only that, they had a question and answer just now
One of the "experts" said
If you are stir crazy and you want to go for a short drive it's probably ok
Why do they put this shite on
Now half the country will think it's ok to for a drive in the country
IMHO they have far too much coverage, far too many experts giving their own opinions, presenters asking leading contentious questions
All they need to do is stick to the facts and repeat government advice

On the iPhone and iPad apps try hitting the search icon and you will see Coronavirus pandemic heading with plenty of content.
The BBC website has an entire category dedicated to the virus. How much more do you need? |

But you have to be able to balance that to keep people reading about cute dogs or whatever, so they will have a higher chance of reading the repeated official message.
If the BBC is so partisan or has so much unnecessary scaremongering, then why are so many people still taking their news as gospel from social media; which is essentially unregulated, dangerous gossip? |

They are purposely not supporting the Government in case it shows they are doing a good job
Have you followed the Symptoms link?
Does it take you to immediately to info?

The gov website has number of cases, it's in various places on the BBC website too. The Guardian breaks it down by area. There are lots of statistics out there.
You have to look for them. It's not difficult. Apply your research skills, critical thinking, etc. |

Think that backs up my argument, Gov and Guardian have figures BBC choosing to not to publish. If you want research I would also add in WHO org as they have a daily situation report.
Thank you

I'm starting to suspect that because the information the OP wants isn't just handed to him on a spoon, he thinks the BBC is failing him.
It's not a personal service. It's like a library. Go find it. |

Err... I'm pretty sure the BBC has the information. I personally find the other sources easier to digest. Not all sites can do all things in all ways to suit all people. |

If you want the stats they are widely available
Corona stats
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
Testing stats
https://ourworldindata.org/covid-testing
Collating stats is not a job for the BBC as it is complex in nature and forever changing - providing stats can be misinterpreted and cause major issues
I'm no BBC fan btw

"Ohhh God....
Yes its buried in amongst stuff, not easily found
Thanks again for supporting my point"
What is your point?
So far I'm seeing someone who wants the national broadcaster to cater to him specifically rather than being responsible enough to seek out information among the many things available for a diverse readership. |

"So the death rate is not important news"
There are plenty of sources for the death rate. So, basically you want it to emblazon the death rate all over the site each day? Because it's not doing that, it is somehow not supporting the government?? Eh? |

So in summary
The pro BBC anti Boris forumites feel that
BBC TOP News running USA figures is valid
BBC UK news running no figures is appropriate
I think you just like a row and dont actually consider the point being made, instead you will just.. object.
I work with several people similar to you.
They never really perform well |

I'm pro public health and being responsible for seeking information yourself. I'm strictly neutral on the BBC and seek most of my virus related news outside the media.
Regardless of my political proclivities, the internet is an amazing tool and there are countless websites out there solely dedicated to information on the spread. |

I quote from the BBC website, which took me two seconds to find.
"UK deaths rise to 465, out of 9,500 confirmed cases" |

The USA is about to become the epicentre... some might say that is newsworthy.
Test coverage is not uniform or complete so the death and infection rates are not exact anywhere. |

Yes, the BBC serves an international population as well as those of us who care about global events.
The UK information is prioritised as you'd expect from a UK source, but sometimes other stuff is more newsworthy. |

Then why are we the people that fund it ?"
The BBC is also funded in other ways. Including foreign bodies paying for its content. |

Clicked on Live news.
2nd paragraph down, current infected and death figures.
God that took soooooo much finding."
Yeah FINDING
WHY HAVE TO LOOK
Clearly Does warrant a HEADLINE
so its clear the BBC provides the information you all want. In abundance in a very clear manner,
Oh look now there are 3.3 million US citizens unemployed record numbers..
Yep we got a negative trump headline
