Lockdown, but not

Boris has imposed stricter measures to reduce the spread of this dreaded virus and rightly so. However on the news, on social media and in the papers they are calling it a lockdown. But is it a lockdown?
For me a lockdown is all businesses closed apart from food stores and utilities. Desperate times equal desperate measures and right now people shouldn't be given the opportunity to carry out one form of excercise unless it's in the home. There's too many people that are happy to abuse the system. How will the authorities know if an individual has left the house to excercise once or three times in a day? How will they know if an individual has been to the shop once in the morning and then again in the evening? There's far to many gaps and if people continue to use this as a holiday then I feel and complete lockdown coming.
We're going into some dark times here Fabbers. Unfortunately this is just the beginning. The recovery is going to slow and there's going to be a recession the longer this goes in. Times ahead will be very hard with the UKs recovery. Let's all work together to adhere the Boris's pleas. I for one think he's doing a good job and we need to support him.

Corbyn would probably be organising marches in support of the virus"
On the other hand, without 9 years of austerity, people may have faired better. Swings and roundabouts eh? |

Yes its a national lockdown but my fear too many people flaunt the law putting extra pressure on our police force who are already stretched. Too many selfish people out there. I had afew guys suggesting me going to their house party.  Where in Hong Kong, they putting a law in place to ban alcohol. Our country too liberal and too many people are too selfish because of that. |

Sadly had a guy on here last night trying to get me to meet him. Even after explaining at some length why I wouldn't be he just had a YOLO attitude and was going to continue. He also said he was strictly safe sex but couldn't understand why meeting wasnt safe  |

I've just seen the news and people were cramming onto the underground like normal. I've just got back from work and people are out walking in groups and I saw a group of about 10 teens congragting outside a local shop. It baffles me really. |

On the plus side the majority of adults in this area are acting appropriately.
As for everyone staying in .... for everyone to get food delivered the shops need a lot more delivery and packing staff to be able to do this. After today my parents can't get a delivery for 3 weeks. There is no easy answer. |

If there's limited results from this restriction type, they will impose much stricter conditions, such as needing to register every single trip outside of your home, its purpose and potentially even requiring permissions before you can leave. Other countries require access to the Internet for forms for each trip. |

My next door neighbour is a delivery driver for Ocado. He was telling me today, from 2 meters away, that on Sunday evening there weren't as many of them out doing deliveries because supplies had run out.
The idea of having your shopping delivered is all well and good but the current system simply can not cope. |
