I dont know how much comfort this will be for you but the legend that is martin lewis has been fighting your corner for you and released this update on Twitter tonight...
Self-employed help update:
1. I've confirmation govt is on this right now. It aims to make further help announcement this week, once its watertight. So hold on.
2. Apply for Uni credit. Housing pay changes mean it may be bigger than u think, inc some circs £1500+/mth untaxed |

Wrong John lewis there. The other John Lewis was missing Mary Bradley's arms in the Nuclear Fallout Zone. |

Is the right answer!
Congratulations. Free quiet night in for you!
Excerpt from his website:
“My mother would sometimes call me “Jona” as a nickname and friends at school would often call me “Lewie”.
When I was thinking of developing a solo career I thought I would combine the two nicknames to make my stage name “Jona Lewie” as opposed to “John Lewis” as it seemed to be a bit more snazzy sounding.”
“I wasn’t conscious of not wanting my name to be the same as the name of the shop in Oxford Street, London.
At one point I was thrilled at having the same name as the John Lewis who was in the Modern Jazz Quartet except that I didn’t really play Modern Jazz.”

I'm on universal credit. My allowance is about £300/month. Be interested to know how someone gets £1500. I've never even got that much working 1 full time and 1 part time job. |

A Parliament draft publication shows that the self-employed should be entitled to statutory self-employment pay to equal the lower of: 80% of monthly net earnings (averaged over the last 3 years self-assessment profits or £2917. This is only a draft publication at the moment and has not yet been enacted but it looks incredibly promising.
Still no news as of yet to help the low salary/divided company director, of which there are many, however, the meaning of being furloughed (laid off until work becomes available) almost makes it impossible to meet the requirements anyway as a director, but we shall wait and see what the next few days bring. |
