on the way home from work I have to drive past a McDonald's.
A large drive through.
It's fucking heaving large groups of people standing outside chatting eating smoking, and there must be close to 50 cars queueing to go through the drive thru!!!!

People are trying to eat bc they can't get it in the shops or fear once all the take outs close shops will be only source we could get food from.
Also with every one acting like idiots and buying everything in site they dont actually need its proving difficult to keep shelves and frozen food stocked even though we have more than enough for everyone. They can't fill the shelves fast enough so people need to stop panic buying we are not going to run put of food and me personally cant wait till this is over and laugh at the idiots with all the food they have leftover and wasted money on |

It's not surprising. Defiance often goes hand in hand with stupidity.
That's what these people are actually doing, they don't like being told what to do, so they are rebelling against actions put in front of them.
Mix that in with the "it's cold to be stupid" trend these days and what you see is the result.
Funny thing is their actual defiance is what will is going to cause their actual choice to be taken away. Can't be sensible for a few weeks/months. Then you don't get the option to be. |

should not wish this or anything bad to happen to anyone.
this is something generations have not had to deal with.
we have been very comfortable for over 50 years plus with housing booms, stocks , flashy cars etc and for the most a reasonable lifestyle and a lot of freedoms we all take for granted.
remember those no longer with us were sent to war in foreign lands against overwhelming forces of evil. millions suffered here at home, some lost everything and had to start again with nothing. many never got to say goodbye to loved ones and many never got to live to an old age we can now.
people died of illness we now can cure.
this is a challenge. no doubt about it because its evil, invisible and we ALL can suffer. it doesn't care about race or religion it attacks us all.
I have faced many things in life, some have nearly killed me and left me thinking I wasn't going to live another day.
people make serious mistakes in life and endanger others without thought.
this is what makes us
all human,the freedom of choice given to us as of right.
we have been lucky to not be watched by men with guns on every corner threatening us for speaking out or posting something on the internet against our leaders.
this is a great country, with fantastic people of all faiths and backgrounds.
the british spirit is like no other.
we maybe a small nation, but when it comes to a war we come out fighting and win. against the odds we go in, prepared, disciplined, trained.
we have fantastic medical people on that front line.
this will be a very long battle, many will get hurt and possibly die. but we wont give up. we will defeat this invisible enemy and rise again.
be proud that you are doing your bit by listening, understanding and making sure those you love are doing the same.
then only the good will survive. and the good win world wars.

My truth in this is that people will die. People will die before their time. But probably most of them would die within 5-10 years anyway without the virus. I don't think it's worth tanking the economy and civil liberties to save a few million people. That's just letting emotion into a debate where it doesn't belong.
Yes it's shit if your loved one dies. Yes it's rubbish for your loved ones if you did. That's focusing on your individual situation which for me is the definition of selfish. Bigger picture needs to be the one we go with.
And yes I have people that matter who would die. I would die. And yes I'm more or less socially distancing but it feels wrong and selfish because the human population needs a pandemic.
But hey what would I know seeing as I think euthanasia and eugenics are good too and apparently other people think they are abhorrent too. |

Your analysis is flawed because it relies on covid19 remaining covid19.
So with the virus proliferating and increasing numbers becoming infected it also increases the likelihood of the virus mutating within a human host.
Imagine the situation if its worst effects took children as victims? |
