Employers/companies not taking it serious

My company as well as hundreds more (if not thousands) are not taking g this seriously at all.

I work in a walk in type of environment so anyone can walk in at any time plus house visits etc. Our company motto at the moment "business as usual!" I am absolutely flabbergasted at the fact that our company has said that if we want to self isolate then we have to take it as holiday or unpaid leave... I get 21 days holiday a year and bills to pay!

Rant over....

They’re not following government guidelines- self isolate for 7 days 80% of your wages is guaranteed by legislation and we will be on total lockdown by Friday. Don’t go in.

I am at work today. I personally feel I shouldn't be but they just won't pay me if I don't.

I think the government is just silly dallying and has done from the start. Nobody is absolutely sure what they should and should not be doing.

Unfortunately, in another lifetime it seems, we were told to ignore experts.

Contact the department of employment at westminster. Tell them the situation.

Or email.

They should be contacting all employers with direct information on employees company policy or no company policy or the company could be sued by the employee or punished by the goverment for ignoring care of duty and health and safety of the their employees.

The bosses won't have a company to boss if they don't act properly.

I drove through Chorlton in Manchester yesterday and there were 2 local bars that appeared to be open. Beggars belief and I hope they cop a massive fine.

But until it becomes government telling you not to go in then some will have to to get paid.

We are still expected to be in and working until the premises we visit are empty or we are told by government that we cannot travel. Then they will have no choice but until then I suspect that if we refused to travel then we would not be paid.

Nope my company has advised they will not pay sick pay for the first 3 days then pay sick pay for a further 4 days and only continue to pay an additional 7 days (as per my contract) if we have been tested positive for the virus (and as far as I am aware it is taking longer than 14 days to get tested).

They should be either removed from any business relief and/or lose their licence, the only way to deal with these money grabbing idiots is to hit their pocket

Amazing how some companies gamble with peoples lives and futures.

A contract is only worth the paper it's written on in a crisis like this.

I'd hate to be in the bosses shoes if any of it's staff die because of a contract.

What I suspect is that these companies will find that word gets around and once this is over then they will find themselves with no staff. And that people will not work for them.

In my industry even before this there were companies that you would only work for if you desperately needed work.
