"Can't go to the pub because we might mix with people, but can still go to work and mix with people. You couldn't make it up. "
Socialising and work are two very different things. Socialising is usually not something you have to do; work most often is.
No-one is saying it’s a perfect solution, but stopping socialising massively reduces opportunities for transmission. |

Halving the amount of mixing seems pretty sensible" 3 hours less mixing will save us all, not worked anywhere else yet. |

It's actually meant that the number of deaths a day in Italy isn't already well over a thousand |

It’s a good job a large proportion of the population isn’t old in Italy...oh wait....
Any death is dreadfully sad but Italy has more people over 60 as a percentage of their population than any other European country which is down to good living and healthy food. Unfortunately that also means more people at a greater risk. A higher death rate was always going to happen so it’s a little unfair to compare the UK to Italy.
And yes, I am worried because I have family near Bergamo. Luckily they are all ok for now but I’m waiting for that dreaded call.
Stay safe. Wash hands. Keep cleaning like a maniac. Take sensible precautions. Avoid the elderly and long term sick. But don’t believe everything you read

Keeping the bars and restaurants open in Spain and Italy would have been utter madness.
Listen to want the doctors and nurses in those countries have been saying - it’s horrific. Anything doable which helps lower the pressure on them in any country has to be done. |

Still an awful lot of confusion about, and don't just read the headlines. But at least something positive is now being announced? It's a rather unique situation in modern times. If only the Chinese government had believed their experts early on instead of gagging them we probably wouldn't be in this mess now?
Good luck everyone! |
