Yeah weird one, wonder if anyone else suffers from this.
No matter what shampoo I use I get a spotty head.
I've tried washing it,not washing it using exfoliator to clean the pores, hot water cold water just about everything.
I've read that it's fairly common to get acne on head but aren't I a bit old for that?
So before I do an econsult with GP, just thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this issue. |

"Try something like a salicylic acid face and body wash. That's the ingredient for targeting spots.
Quick search, Cerave, Inky List, and Superdrug (Me+) do them. Superdrug is the cheapest."
Thanks I'll look into that |

"Itchy or small spots on the scalp (particularly at the neckline) is often a symptom of stress.
Of course, there can be other reasons as well"
Makes sense I suffer badly from anxiety and stress, funnily enough when we went on holiday last year it was fine |

I'd probably ask a pharmacist to look at it and get their advice which should be quicker and easier than seeing a GP. They may be able to recommend an approach/treatment.
Certainly, if you can work on reducing your stress load, it should help your general health and may prevent this making things worse. It might also be helpful to avoid things like hottubs, which can sometimes aggravate some skin conditions.

It couldn't hurt to consult the doc, if the symptoms continue or are a recurring condition. It took me a long time to link up my joint pains with my flaky scalp, when I finally consulted the doc and made him listen to all the symptoms it turned out to be psoriatic arthritis. The treatment is helping immensely now, but it did take over six months for the drugs to slowly become effective.

"Yes, on the above, I was assuming that you were sure it was acne. If it is, as I said. If not, ask first.
Yeah I think I will, just feel stupid going to the doctor's for spots on my head. "
Could potentially be serious. No harm in making sure |

It could be folliculitis which would need medicated shampoo or perhaps oral steroids etc to manage.

I've (mr) suffered with this in the past and it can be stress induced but I've found out of all the shampoos that tescos own anti dandruff shampoo helps me. Since using it I havent had any i know that it may be different for others |
