I'm always weary of online tests , Never done one so not sure what they entail, but the tests I have done at my clinic take blood, urine and saliva samples and are tested within the hour. I know cultures have to be grown for some of the tests but the sooner you start the testing the more accurate the results. According to my clinic blood samples need to be tested / used within 4 hours of being taken to be viable. |

Fresh blood yes, however the tubes you get for home tests has compounds in it to keep the blood in a state to be tested, that why it congeals in one, and is ultra runny in the other.
Home tests however are as only accurate as the person doing them, and whilst they are easy to do, it’s also easy to make mistakes. |

sh:uk no longer partner with local GUM clinic (who themselves are severely under resourced), the new partner only offers limited tests via postal kits and barely asks any screening questions.
As I found out the hard way, these services are only good if you want a postal kit and all results clear! And the wider NHS won't get involved either!
I now get tested in person via a private GP practice, the full works package is easy (blood test & urine sample)- expensive but absolutely worth it. |
