Having experienced the NHS a lot the last 6 months. The service is struggling from lack of money, resources and staff. Can't knock the staff they are pretty much all trying their best in difficult circumstances. Many years of cuts and an aging population, plus difficulties in recruiting and keeping staff, has left the NHS in a perilous state. I had no choice but to go down the private route. |

Having experienced the NHS a lot the last 6 months. The service is struggling from lack of money, resources and staff. Can't knock the staff they are pretty much all trying their best in difficult circumstances. And effectively making you go private kind of sums up the whole approach to our last incumbent government. Can't make money out of a 'state' industry  |

Plus the last government were ideologically fixed on making it difficult for the NHS to recruit. Lots of the fantastic NHS staff have come from other parts of the world.

Isn't this just an example of some of the most wealthy men on earth, who are also involved in space flight, trying to extract more money from us? That Musk and Bezos, from Amazon, fly on behalf of NASA etc, shipping in these spaces viruses seems a sure fire winner. You could have antiviral medication shipped by Amazon Prime, running profits, whilst profiting from journeys to Mars and back. It's probably in conjunction with alien partners, who have licensed special space viruses for use here. |

lucky you ive been waiting for surgery for nearly two years, they have cancelled three times already just this month,i have no doubt the care will be great once im actually in there but the actual running of it is pants

How long were you on the waiting list for to " walk through the door " and did they keep you informed Huw many metres you were from the door during that time or even that you were on a list at all ? "
I wasn't on a waiting list per se.
Struggled to get a Doctors appointment for sure. From then on everything moved real quick, from specialist consultantion and diagnosis to treatment in about 5 weeks.

To be fair, when my back was first recored as "fucked" it took 5 years to get surgery. By then I could barely walk. And due the time it took and the way my surgery was funded, cost 3 times more than it should have done.
My current health condition exactly the opposite. Spot on and excellent. |

Yes by Blair introduced at £1000 then 6 years later to £3000 then trebled to £9000 by the conservative government. For the record I am not tony blair's biggest fan but to pretend his government didn't do a lot of good things, especially with regard to the NHS, isn't right. Austerity on the other hand was the real start of the rapid decline of the NHS and public services. A policy that didn't even worm to reduce the national debt. Based as it was on flawed evidence from a report based on a report with an excel spreadsheet mistake. |

Lucky you can still protest. There’s been a lot of moves to try and curtail that by previous governments.
I bet Shirley Bassey, Richard Branson, Paul McCartney and several other wealthy people will personally thank you for fighting to get them an extra few bob next winter.
There’s UK pensioners here in Spain having to get cheaper sun cream or less gin now due to the removal of that “essential” winter help. FFS!
