Yes 2 years ago. Was bloody painful and only recourse was circumcision. I had a sore under the skin which would start healing then tear and scar tissue was going to be the issue. Didn't help I had tight foreskin with an opening the size was very small. Still adjusting to it. |

If you end up going the circumcision route then I'd research styles and drs. I went private in London as I wanted to be able to pick a high and tightish style and get it done when I wanted.
Cost me £700 and had it done freehand with glue so healing time was pretty fast and less of a scar. Prefer how it is now and feeling sex on the outstroke is a massive game changer. |

I had tk be circumcised because of this a couple of years ago, the operation itself wasn't too bad but the recovery was a bit of a sore slog! Happy with the results now though and no more searing pain when trying to wash or have sex! Mine was done on the NHS within a few weeks of being referred. |

"Anyone ever had balanitis and if so how long to recover fully."
Try tea tree or Neem cream and use it regular or when symptoms start. Usually works a treat. |

"Can be a side effect of diabetes "
Yeah it's the gift that keeps on giving
Lichen Sclerosus is another similar one it can cause. Steroid cream helps but doesn't solve sadly. Looks like circumcision is the best route right now. |

No, this is not the case. Its not a virus. It appears like one, similar to herpes, but it isn't. And it's quite easy to get rid of. Nothing to worry about other than dealing with the physical side for a few weeks and wash with just water and using a hydra cortisone cream inbetwwen |

Hey guys, I have been struggling with this for a few years now. Seems to flair up if I'm too active like haveing a couple of wanks in a day. The it sticks around for a week or two. Washing with just water helps but that's it. Will try hydrocortisone as suggested earlier in the thread!

Do not “try hydrocortisone” like it was cough syrup. Speak to your doctor first.
There are levels of Balanitis that the cream won’t touch and is not something you want to leave untreated or wrongly treated for long |

I’m recently recovering from a Circumcision from phimosis. Been four weeks now. no nookie, not operational in the typical sense, stitches are only just dissolving.
*feels like I’ve lost a practical bit of length, maybe 1.4 to 2inches , but still have some stitches left,
Girth has increased By about a 1/3 best guess, maybe 25%???
Good luck chaps and look after your members.

Other forums I'm on suggests it's common to temporary lose length while it heals but will be back in no time.
Extra girth is probably swelling haha will go away in time like mine did

I get it every now and then, its connected to my type two diabetes. When it comes on i instantly start with the cream i get on prescription, i wont say what it is as i'm not a doctor giving advice.
What i have found is by using a particular "tingling" citrus shower gel, i get a tingling which is an early warning, so i instantly apply the cream for a few days, which stops it developing.
I am quite attached to it and dont want to give it up. |

Balanitis is usually fungal and more common if uncircumcised, particularly if there is phimosis. I had no choice about getting circumcised as it is difficult to say no when you are only 8 days old! |

Didn't use any creams but guess it won't do you any harm to use the steroid stuff.
Everyone I know whos tried it said it worked a little bit but not a long term solution.
Put off getting cut for around 12 years but it took the reactivation of my sex life after a sexless marriage for me to take action.
Would defo look at what style you fancy due to looks/sensation and if your surgeon lets you have a choice. |

"Simple solution I have found is to just keep your foreskin rolled back at all times for a few days at least."
This I thought about but need the foreskin held back plus the sensitivity of having the head exposed in pants etc |

Absolutely DO NOT leave the foreskin rolled back
Paraphimosis is not only painful but it can also cause some serious medical complications and can lead to the end of the penis dying.
if this happens we use lidocaine cream and occasionally a surgical or urology registrar to assist.
Phimosis can usually be treated with antibiotics (if showing signs of infection) and a hydrocortisone cream
Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. So much misinformation in these forums!
Guys, you all must be registered with a GP. Don’t ask for medical advice on a forum |

Yes and it was fkin awful
It took about a month to recover
It was as a result of the GP altering my diabetes meds
They have tried prescribing the same one again recently
I told them to look back on my notes
They did
Then offered an alternative - a side effect of which can be genital gangrene
I didn't even know that was a thing
I certainly don't fancy it
I'm wondering if it was offered as a way of another dose of balinitis being the better option |

These steps worked for me..
1. Stop wanking as much, or just go to once a week.
2. Shower or wash your bits 3 times a day.
3. Take a steroid cream for a very short term to clear the initial infection
Within a couple of weeks, you should be good |

I wish I had received this advice. I had quite a pain in the nut of a recovery, all preventable and worse than it should have been. I only started getting balanitis in my late 30s due to an underlying immuno problem (n?genetic, rather than transmittable).
I agree though, I actually think it feels an fuck tonne better having sex and blowjobs now than it did before. Very happy with the results despite the kerfuffle. |

If they have not seen any signs of infection which is good! If it keeps reoccurring then please discuss with GP.balanitis (non infective) is usually treated with clotrimizole and hydrocortisone
Feel free to Google these as you can get these OTC HOWEVER I’d recommend seeing your GP as it may require additional treatment. |

Circumcision of the foreskin is the answer for Balanitis so the sooner a man arranges to be circumcised the quicker he can heal and be back to having sex, initially very sensitive but becomes fine with time with the loss of some sensitivity. |

It’s not the only answer. Balanitis is an infection and can heal without leaving scars.
Please do not talk about stuff you don’t know.
Can I remember all of you complete boneheads that for health issues you shall go to your GP, instead of asking random people on a forum?
Jesus Christ I can’t believe I have to specify that |
