I've been suffering long covid symptoms since I had the virus last year.
The usual ones low energy, feeling lethargic and unmotivated. Not all the time but they come and go.
The other one is getting cramp in my lower legs. Not the calf muscle at the back, but outside one at the side. Was speaking to my physio and she said she's been hearing about cramp a lot from people with long covid.
Its 99% only happen in bed when am sleeping. Anybody else experiencing something similar..? |

Are you staying fully hydrated OP maybe try some regular isotonic drinks such as NUUN tablets.
But to answer your question.
Also a long covid sufferer and I do experience this.
My logic for it is I'm less active than I used to be so when I do something strenuous I cramp up.

I do normally drink plenty of water. Am only getting it at night when in bed. |

Cramp and it's cause is one of life mysteries. As an Ironman I've looked hard at it and suffered with it. Magnesium helps, hydration essential ( how much is plenty water?) . Walnuts help and electrolyte balance. All sorts causes it but which cause will probably remain a mystery. Stretch, exercise hydrate. Quinine also helps |

Simple tonic water can help.
Try a glass before bedtime see if it helps. |

I use tonic water a lot. Diet is bad for me as the sweeteners cause heartburn.
Do you know about Na/K push pull effect on muscle tissue?
Sodium Na, causes muscles to clench and contract. Whereas potassium K causes them to relax and stretch.
Both of these chemicals are use in salts. Potassium can be used as an alternative to normal table salt. This is usually called Lo-salt and like saccharine, it has it's own tasted and is used in the same way...sprinkle to taste.
Bananas are good for protein, but who eats them every day?
