"And I've caught covid. Oh the joys of working in retail where every bugger insists on licking their fingers before handing money over to you Hopefully won't feel too crappy for long"
Any fears, talk to your midwife. Don't keep worries to yourself. |

Thank you all. Covid has luckily cleared up but my waters broke less than a week after my first positive so currently on antibiotics and rest. (I'm not saying that Covid causes my waters to break, it just happened) |

They will like to keep an extra eye on you, wishing you a speedy recovery x |

Yes, they're keeping a very close eye on me at the moment. I go in twice a week to be monitored and check on the baby |

I would go see your Midwife as that doesn't sound right. |

Preterm prelabour rupture of membranes is a thing. It's defined as membrane rupture before 37wks gestation. Membranas breaking does not always result in labour starting, so it's not the case that just because "waters" have broken, that labour is underway or will inevitably start soon.
Tommy's (the pregnancy charity) have an informative page on preterm prelabour rupture for those who have never heard of it. |

Most of us can google too to find out these things.
It also says a pregnant woman should be monitored closely in Hospital |

I am monitored closely. I'm going into hospital this afternoon for a fluid check (ultrasound) I'll also have a blood test to check for infection and then I'll be put on a monitor to check babies heart rate. Then I'll go back at the end of the week to check babies heart rate again. This is repeated every week until I go into labour.
When your waters break it isn't like emptying a bottle, your body continues to produce amniotic fluid until birth. The hospital do weekly scans to make sure my body is producing enough to account for the loss. Hope that makes sense |
