Not necessarily.
The tests are far from perfect, apparently the new variant is almost unnoticeable in some people and the vaccine works.
You may well have already had it or be immune without even realising.

Where do you get that consensus ? I don't anyone remotely sensible that doesn't think covid is real. |

It's of course, certainly not the consensus amongst the thousands of experts who have relevant specialties and expertise, that most of us can only dream of. A handful of people who haven't published appropriate, recent scientific research evidence, can certainly mutter some BS but it makes them no more relevant than just some contrarian conspiracy diehards, some of whom earn £millions from it, at our expense. |

"Had a suspected case before testing. Not since. I test regularly. But I also avoid it like... well, the plague."
Not quite the same though is it
We didn't go to such crazed extremes and avoided it like the cold.
I've had it ex & kids had it, cancer ridden chemo going old fogie parents had it. What happened?! Bit of a sniffle. |

I was speaking to someone at the weekend who had a bit of a cold with mild Omicron. Vaccinated. However, his unvaccinated friend got mild Omicron and is now mildly dead. |

Covid is real
It can be deadly
I've been careful, vaccinated, and avoided it.
Vaccine made me sleepy! Had to go to bed straight after!
Just not got it (yet) |

After managing to avoid it for over two years I finally got it. It was a bit rough for just over a week and some symptoms are lingering but Mr Ruggers caught it from me but only had a bit of a cough and feeling a bit off for a day.
Both of us had jabs and had it completely different |

So I suppose all the people I know who died from it, and my fit and healthy partner who's been left with poor breathing from it are what? Just faking it? |

I had the best sleep with the first jab, 2nd kept up me up with the sweats, luckily not had it (knowingly or with tests confirmed) even when my partner had it bad over Christmas.
Only thing I've noticed is my hay-fever has been terrible. |

Well, many on this site claim it is fake, a hoax and fake vaccine with remote chips are to control us that doesn't stop you catching it.
Oh yes, it's very real, yes, many people died - compounded by the ignorance and selfishness of others.
Although, I don't think I had it (did have shitty deep headaches for two weeks back in February). Ny daughter has had it, I looked after her and somehow dodged it as everyday tests were negative.
Could it be the PP3 masks we both wore and her voluntary isolating, having something to do with it?
A friend's mother died of it, not with it.

So the governments of every country in the world lost out on hundreds of billions in income from taxes etc, and spent more billions paying furlough etc just to control us and test a vaccine??
wow, some people are so dim. |

"I've not had it either. I have had 3 jabs that made me poorly though "
Define “poorly” please
I had both vaccines (AZ) then the booster (Pfizer) I felt ill with that, since having in the space of a year I’ve been ill on and off all year, from September for 6 weeks, December (bronchitis & laryngitis) February Bronchitis again, April chest infection, and now…. Now I have Covid!
I actually think the vaccines and boosters were given out too close together and if the vaccines didn’t stay in the body that long anyway what was the point of carrying on with them? Although I’m grateful for having it as it does help you not to get it as bad as if you didn’t get the vaccine. Hopefully I won’t end up in hospital with complications |

The point of carrying on although time is short, is to keep underlying protection it does offer.
There is a wider gap to Autumn and not convinced this is best policy as it is still around and some will be quite poorly from it, although these at higher risk are still getting boosters.
Hope you get well soon you'll be OK. |

Covid didnt want me either.
Live in a household of students and teachers who all caught it. Decided there wasn't much point in taking serious precautious, and still didn't get it.
(Mindful that there are those who lost loves ones to it, so apologies of jovial response) |

I behaved myself over the lockdowns and have not seemed to catch it either.
Triple-vaccinated & only had one instance since it began where I though I might have something - but tested each day & came up negative.
Could have had it and been asymptomatic as I have not been testing every day - but still dodgijg it for now... even if it doesn't matter whether I have or haven't had it. |

According to a recent article in The Lancet: "effectiveness against severe disease, hospitalisation, and death remained high 6 months after vaccination for both BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 (elasomeran; Moderna)"

It's real and nasty the lung lining gets thick with mucus as a defence mechanism but the lungs become very tight. It's like this for days. I had it a number of times. I use a traditional chesty cough mixture to break the said. Then it rains gunk for days. You have to cough it out constantly or drown. The gunk goes septic if it's not coughed out. I have asthma the last time I had it I was run down I had sinusitus then head shingles then a massive chest infection. I rang up 111 to get a script for strong antibiotics and declined an ambulance. They worked with strong herbs. I guess it was a close call. The virus is very real as it's released bioweapon. It's confirmed by virologists as it's lethal everywhere round the world. |

When I had COVID a few times I kept busting my rib cartilage thro my inducing coughs to cough out the crud. If you don't you drown or it gets infected made easier with a traditional cough mixture to listen up the chest. I still made myself cough with split rib cartilage applying 10% ibuprofen gel and painkillers. Happy days. Obviously the old people can't cough to clear and drown putting massive low oxygen strain on the heart and organs. It's helped the govts pension crisis bozo celebrating in his numerous illegal works parties |

Yep…this is exactly what happened to me. Nearly ch*ked to death on my own mucus and vomit and now have severe trauma from that experience. Had to sleep upright for weeks…still won’t eat chicken covid has totally ruined my body and I’m only 20 can’t imagine being an older person having it |

That's the thing now, as these variants are so much more infectious than the earlier ones. . Having escaped catching it for so long, these can latch on to us more easily |

"You may have had it and not known." that’s a fair point; a virus so deadly you don’t even know you have it ; no symptoms; and only way to know is to take a PCR test and we all know how reliable those are.

I think the official figures are 6.3 million however that's died with covid and the majority were obese or diabetic or a combination of both. |

If you were prescribed antibiotics then your infection would have been bacterial.
As for bioweapon , not a very successful one. |

Percentage wise covid was never "so deadly", but infecting billions has resulted in a tragic numbers game, causing a high number of deaths. |

Wife has it at the moment, tested positive Thursday morning, and has knocked her for 6.
I woke up feeling lousy this morning, tested but negative, although I’m sure I have it. We have the same symptoms.
