There was a news story last year about a bloke in his 60's who was diagnosed with a cancer but recieved no treatment due to having covid, only to find later that his cancer had gone into remission.

This is actually my question. Has anyone actually gotten better from having Covid?

So I have been ill for many years, more auto immune conditions than I care to remember, constantly in and out of hospital, lost my sight in one eye, lots and lots of things. I’ve had a rough time of it….. but in December I got Covid, wasn’t nice but was much milder than expected, but since i had Covid ive been sooooo much better, i don’t take a single medication anymore, im at the gym every day, something I couldn’t even think about before. So I just wanted to see if this had happened to anyone else ? Xxx

Ps I’m unvaccinated drs advised against it

Good news for you and congrats. You should offer to be a research subject as there could be some learning that helps others.

Having had covid twice, I don't think it made me any better, but I strongly believe that having it the first time made me more resilient to it as I managed to catch it only 6 days after a course of chemo when I had virtually no immune system and it was only a mild temperature for one day with no other symptoms worth even mentioning.

I am also not vaccinated against it.

Neither time I had it had any lasting side effects at all.

Your not suggesting covid is the reason for getting over auto immune issues and the conditions your were suffering from

Sometimes, not many times, just the odd time, it can be better to go with the flow and let those thoughts go.

Why completely discount it as rubbish ?

We're still learning a lot about this disease and it's not totally inconceivable that a serious shock to the immune system can have unexpected results

I contracted Lime Disease a few years back and have suffered from post-viral type symptoms ever since - most noticable being rheumatoid arthritis arthritis in fingers and knees. From the minute I had my first vaccine, things started to improve.

No idea if it's connected, but I've heard annecdotal stories about people who had long covid seeing an improvement after getting the vaccine. So there's a possibilty...

Related: I had long covid for almost 10 months and was getting attacks of breathlessness increasingly more frequently until I caught the first cold I had had in about 2 years, which went into shingles! But when I recovered from that I had no more long covid effects, and no longer needed to take the inhalers. It was like getting another cold virus reset my system.

Same here, I've got an autoimmune disease, after each shot I get as brand new for at least a week. I will ask the GP if I can have a vaccine every month or so

Yes, if this proves to be genuine, then it goes from anectdotal research to clinic trials, you could be onto something.

Speak to your specialists and see if they can back up your experience with cold scientific fact.

Vaccines were born from the knowledge of milk maids and their prior contact with of cow pox. So, as mad as it sounds, chase this one up and speak to the experts direct. There's plenty of respected medical journals, that healthcare, disease specific charities, scientific industries and big pharma read and peer review.

This is something the Maltoses thinker, physician, psychologist, author, inventor, philosopher, and consultant, and Dr Edward de Bono would approve of.

ie sometimes what sounds like a daft idea, turns out to be pure genius when give the time of day. The odds are high, but go for it stand tall and get heard.

True, but not classy. Gregory House would approve of that comment though.

Except it didn't did it. People still died of flu. That said the things that slow down the spread of covid work with influenza too such as lockdowns, mask wearing, hand washing etc.

dont forget the jabs and boosters; they don’t work that well but they slow it down and prevent you ending up on a ventilator in ICU

Likely the over reaction of the immune system to COVID triggered a response to other ailments.

Story years ago of a wheelchair bound boy caused by MS getting struck by lightning, who went on to walk again. It seems the body, in repairing the damage from the lightning, went on to further repair and regenerate nerve damage caused by the MS.

Nature is a wonderful thing..

3 years ago I got hit on the head by a strange man holding a banner stating 'Covid is coming, we're all doomed".

When I eventually woke up I found I could play the piano, speak 3 languages and play the recorder through my arse.

Then I realised I can play the piano and speak a few languages but the recorder bit was a revelation.

Isn't nature wonderful.

No, even Pornhub rejected my videos.

Said they couldn't recognise the tune and if they could it would be copyright infringement.
