"Anyone have tinnitus and or loss of hearing since having Covid? I'm 11 weeks post Covid. Did you seek or can recommend any treatment? Thanks! "
No, no, no.
Don't ask for medical advice on a sex site or any other Internet forum.
Go to your GP.
That's what Dr's do, give out medical advice and sometimes they get it right. |

Don't worry I've been to my GP and awaiting an appointment with a consultant. Appreciate the reply. However you've misread my post I was not asking for any medical advice, important to point out. I'm on many health support groups, people from all walks of life, I see this group in the same vein. Always good to talk to others, everyday day is a school day. |

I suddenly lost my hearing in one ear about 15 years ago. I lay down on the couch to watch a TV program, when I sat up half an hour later my hearing was gone and has never returned.
I mention this to show it is possible to suddenly lose your hearing for no reason. Since then I have had tinitus in that ear it is there constantly but can be ignored. |

Not suffered from tinnitus myself but after 11 days testing positive with cold like symptoms suffering terrible joint pains, never had joint pain in my life apart from injury.

Same here, feeling knackered & so low, tinnitus driving me crazy despite having learned to ignore it over the years … not like me at all |

Not knowingly had Covid but have developed tinnitus since receiving the booster jab. Doctors say the ear drum is blown up like a balloon but everything they have tried to remedy it has failed so far |

I had tinnitus anyway but it has been a lot worse since i had covid.
I havn't mentioned it to my GP, it's almost impossible to speak them let alone see them for a check on my ears. |

Yep and they get upset when you mention that.
I’m working, but it’s another frustration. Between the fatigue and the loud whining noise I’m really struggling to engage on the endless dull telephone meetings. |

I have it for years, some days worse than others and actually worse when it is quite and all I can hear is the ringing / whistling.
But amazingly it has not been very noticeable since I have had covid about 2 months ago.
Might be nothing to do with covid but there it is. |

I've had Hyperacusis
Since they left the downstairs fans on 24hrs or every time I walked through the door.
Just been screened for cancer and a removal, because the arguments started with smoking directly outside indoors & rowing.
Stress wise I live 14 mtrs from the mainline London to Birmingham, they deal stuff in individual properties and get aggressive along with abusive language, often aimed personally, they're not wanted along with the 999 calls & Partner bully disarray.
The noise is meant to unnerve me with purposed behaviour. And creeping around all hours shifting favours
Blanking or Deafing are ignorance

(I never hear them having sex or direct intercourse underneath like the other couple's in the premises),
The Foulings,,
I find it hard to go into shops with music or if it's very noise concentrated, considering the stress
It plays with equilibrium
Nobody needs punches to flow or an after life, that's with excesses, to pay bills.
What can you imagine with outbursts. The Rash Symptoms from the original COVID injection, Parking Problems Primarily.
But Tinitus or metal inducement hearing problems can be causing

Hyper-Hearing
It's embarrassing I came here for My Purpose & Would Like help
But

I'm due an operation to repair my elbow bone
Can anybody suggest anything
Do you know how hard it is to get to a club with that?

Yes, had Covid two years ago, my main symptom was really bad tinnitus - it's not quite so severe now, but it is permanent and my ears are over-sensitive to noise and my high frequency hearing is buggered. Seen an ENT specialist and had hearing tests but no real cure, you just have to learn to live with it |

My tinnitus is not connected with covid, but after about ten years I've gradually got used to it to some extent. Still interferes with hearing whenever I'm in any crowded environment, but unless I'm actually thinking about it (like now!) I don't get too distressed by it. You just eventually come to terms that you'll never experience proper quietness again... |

Sadly that is my experience, that it gets so that mostly you sort of forget about it, but the instant that anything makes you think about your hearing, rrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnnggggggggg...... |

I've suffered with tinnitus for Over 45 years. I've tried different "cures" with no relief. I've also had the Covid shots with no increase in the noise. If anybody finds something that helps, please let me know. |

There is no known cause or cure for tinitus. I have suffered with it for over fifty years and tried many supposed remedies. They don't work.
Some days are worse that others and one ear is worse than the other.
You may be lucky and it will go away but you may have to learn to live with it. |

I already had tinnitus, while I was testing positive it was worse than usual, my right ear occasionally losing all hearing. It pushed me to get my hearing tested once I was covid free. I use hearing aids now. |

There are studies linking tinnitus to vitamin b12 deficiency and some relief by restoring b12 levels. No harm in trying it. Supplements are OK but if you can eat lamb or beef liver then that stuff is the holy grail of nutrition. |

interesting to read this and a subsequent comment about one ear being worse.
Mine is binaural and I don't believe it to be due to the mechanics of hearing as it creates a freqency way above normal hearing range for my age. Rather, it is being created in the part of the brain which processes hearing sounds.
Someone else earlier mentioned training the brain to ignore it. I normally notch it out subconsciously but it always comes back whenever written or spoken conversations turn to the subject, like now! |

It's worth getting it checked out as there are some measures that can help alleviate but not cure the symptoms such as hearing aids, checking for underlying blood vessel condition and tinnitus retraining therapy x |

Since having my vaccine, I haven’t felt right (still got them all though), about 8m later (aug 21) I got a blood test and come back b12 and had to get jags every week for 6 weeks as my levels were so low, I also have the ringing in my ears since having covid in December 21 but probably would say I notice it more over the last month or so though. Was also tested for gluten but I forgot about the test until a few hours before and I wasn’t able to eat enough gluten before it so it was negative (still think I have this but no test to confirm). |

Tinnitus:
Several techniques I have used
White noise, or background noise if trying to sleep.
Put the palm of each hand over each ear with fingers pointing to nape of neck.
Form a seal over ears with palms, should sound like you're under water. Then gently drum with fingers on back of neck for about 10-15 seconds, then remove hands from around ears, it may give you short term relief.
Try humming, or a mantra like ohmmm!! internal vibrations sometimes cancel out tinnitus. |

I wasn't feeling well last year and had a lot of long covid symptoms including pulsate tinnitus.
Turned out I've never had covid but did have a serious heart valve leak which has now been operated on and fixed, 7 weeks later and I'm recovering although had a call on Saturday saying they have to do more tests as it's still leaking
Also the pulsate tinnitus is still there, I can clearly hear my heartbeat in my head but I'm pretty used to it now. |

I've had tinnitus for almost 10 years can be stressful here an there. Best way take the focus away in my opinion is running water, now an then I find a raining vid with a black screen on you tube put volume on about 2-3 an its like the tinnitus volume goes down. |

I've suffered tinnitus for well over a decade, I can't recall hearing nothing. Mercifully, there are coping mechanisms.
If you're struggling sleeping, it could be indicative of other medical issues, if there are other warning signs, seek medical help.
As for getting to sleep, there's two avenues to go explode.
1. Only go to bed when you're tired. Do whatever it is you do in your free time until you feel tired, only then should you go to bed.
2. Become regimented, go to bed at a specific time for the sole purpose of sleeping.
If you're struggling dropping off, try and play sounds in the background, there's some videos on Youtube of stuff that will help and there's apps to ensure ads won't pop up. You can put the phone face down so the screen doesn't disturb you.
If it's just the noise you find bothering you at any time of the day, put a rubber band on your wrist. Ping it every time you find yourself listening to it.
Over the years, I've become very accostomed to it. I don't think covid affected my tinnitus but, the part in my watch which detects movement (the name of which eludes me) broke, as it did with several others when they had covid. Did anyone else have that? |

Yup the way to deal with it is to accept it and live with it. Fight it and you'll go mad. I have a loud noise in my eyes when trying to sleep. Same with my nagging ex wife's voice it became white noise from when she woke up till she fell asleep |

Yes … I thought I was the only one!
Interesting to read this thread …
I had Covid last year (when Omicron was dominant).
It wasn’t too bad and I was up and clear within days.
BUT I had hearing loss / tinnitus in one ear for 7 weeks.
I went to GP, she prescribed nasal steroids which I took for last 5 weeks.
Felt like that wasn’t working - then it cleared up over a few days - I have been 100% since then |

Had tinni-fun for over 30 years ringing as I type.
Noise generators are ok for sleeping at the early stages.
The best advice I can give is ,you have to make friends with it.
Try and not to talk about it, bang its back. |

Tinnitus.
Rules I gave learned over 38 years of the phone ringing.
You can go see your GP, he will refer you, they will do a hearing test, and scan only one ear.
Most likely a junior doctor will tell you there is no magic bullet.
You go home and work out ways to distract from the noise.
Humans have basic instincts from early man, if you hear a noise, you run or fight.
It's that instinct that makes you listen for the noise.
I can tell you it rarely goes away, but like mourning a loss, it fades slowly.
What I can say is it cannot hurt you.
One thing that is common with people I know with tinnitus, is if they get a serious illness the noise takes second place and they hardly notice it.
