Many people are planning future holidays abroad. Some of the countries require that you have had vaccination or booster within last 270 days of travel. As there is no intention for a second booster at the moment here as far as I know, what happens when soneone needs to travel but had their last booster more than 270 days ago. Just some factual information if there is please. Thanks. |

I think you will find with most the 270 is only relevant for the initial vaccine. All the countries I’ve been looking at are stating there’s currently no limit on the 3rd shot. I would imagine this will change as a ‘new’ booster is deemed necessary |

I think it's worth viewing current rules more as emergency measures, due to the crisis status of when measures had to be drawn up quickly.
I'm assuming that as we gain even more experience, things will change and establish differently. New variants and waves may or may not come, perhaps most likely in the autumn for infection.

Using Ireland as an example (I was there last week), the 270 day limit is based on the final dose of the initial series. Ie, the second dose.
Booster shots are not time limited.
So if you have had all 3 shots then you’re fine for travel to Ireland, and I’d imagine that rules are similar in other countries.
Any particular country in mind or just a general query? |

My experience of travelling to Ireland last week ... felt a lot different to every other area of life at the moment.
On the admin side of things, VeriFLY and checking in online meant I could just scan my way through at the airport. Had to complete a passenger locator form for Ireland. No checks at lhr, and no checks in Dublin, just scan passport and straight through.
Return journey was easier. No requirement for VeriFLY or passenger locator forms, so just scanned boarding pass in Dublin and walk straight through (no passport checks etc) at lhr.
But masks had to be worn at all times in both airports and on the planes.
Compared to other environments that we find ourselves in at the moment (work, pubs, restaurants, transport), things were a lot stricter.
Good job Novak wasn’t trying to get into Ireland ... if you lie on your forms you can face 6 months in prison! |

the annual booster will be out again in the autumn and they will probably change the travel rules to a jab every 12 months. So as long as you get your annual covid jab you will be able to travel.

Thanks but what happens if say you had your booster last September and need to tavel in August this year. You will have had the booster more than 270 days by then. When you read the regs it does sound as the 270 days rule applies to original vaccines only as it says if you had the last vaccine more than 270 days earlier you need to have a booster but does not clarify if the 270 days rule applies to the booster too.  |

Let’s just wait and see, eh?
If numbers of infections and deaths continue in the drop then boosters might not be needed for future travel. Let’s just deal with the current facts and then deal with new arrangements when they arise, rather than assuming or guessing outcomes |

As I posted earlier, if you have had a booster it is not time limited. The 270 day limit refers to the final dose of the initial batch (ie : 2nd does). If you have had the booster then there is no time limit, so travelling next august will be fine.
If you haven’t had the booster and had your 2nd dose last September, then you’re fucked. |

Boosters will be made available to the over 75’s and vulnerable from the autumn. No mention of the rest of the population so I for one am hoping that’s an end to it.
It has to be accepted that many of the people that have had at least 2 jabs just won’t have any more and the world travel community won’t want to suffer any longer than is nessecary. |

Clearly.
Some of the countries I visited required vaccination. And in other cases, having been vaccinated meant i didn’t have to do additional testing. |
