We stopped meeting or going to clubs for the best part of two years. Both of us were very unwell with covid at different times and I work in nursing so felt I had a duty of care to those I look after.
2022 will see us make a gradual return albeit with some caution.
We have already lost enough time and in reality don’t have that many years left in this lifestyle.

Wonder what the balance looks like between vaccinated and unvaccinated* and whether they are actively swinging right now?
Wonder how many vaccinated people simply threw caution to the wind?
Wonder how much asymptomatic transmission has occurred as a result?
*not including Covid deniers obviously! |

I was invited to a large event just prior to Christmas and was really looking forward to it as the host couple always make sure everyone has a good time.
With the new Omicron strain I thought better of it and had to decline, feeling both guilty and disapointed but on balance felt that the odds of catching or passing on I'm a group were too great.
One to one or a three would still be a acceptable in terms of risk however, though even that is always subject to review. |

Putting family first..
Although 2+1, family members are meeting ONLY after -ve LFT test, even if that meant taking two kits out to car parked on front on Christmas Day who tested themselves and waited 15 mins.
This is to protect more vulnerable family members.
My understanding of vaccine is that we have significantly reduced chance of being severely ill, but at higher risk of unknowingly passing on asymptomaticaly, hence to be more cautious than throwing it to the wind. |

I met especially infrequently before the situation deteriorated but haven't for many weeks. I keep social contact to a minimum, without a very select group of people who are doing the same. I'm not greatly at risk but at some risk. I want others who are more vulnerable, who haven't the same ability and luxury that I have, to be afforded fewer potential infections around them, as a have. |
