It will happen. I'll have an educated guess and say next week is what SAGE wants. However, Boris does his own thing and ignores science so will wait until January.

Boris is only the PM. He himself doesn't make that type of decision. It's under the cobra and sage

Boris has ignored the SAGE advice before. Last year he was advised to have a 2 week circuit breaker before Christmas, which he ignored.

The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Central

About the only thing done fairly quickly was the Red Lisa flight bank from African countries. It seems a short fulo lockdown could be enough, if it's quick. Expect a late half baked attempt that will go up for longer.

The 2 weeks after Christmas is when I uderstand it will happen...this from the BBC news that came from a leak in the No 10 meeting this morning...not a full lock down but only outside drinking and no mixing indoors, masks to be worn more too...let's see if that's true and if it happens...Some thing is going to happen though!!

SAGE and COBRA are advisory bodies, the decision is made by Cabinet chaired by the PM.
