About 48 hrs…. My sisters experience was that he lodger tested positive on an LFT, then my niece, hers was negative, she drove them to all get PCR tests (because she works for the NHS)

She then got a text message/e mail telling her is was an omicron contact… so either lodger, niece or both had it….. then next day she got a text/e mail to say she was positive… so they are are now in day 2 of 10 days self isolation….

Our pcr in quarantine was 18 hours to result. Negative fyi. The priority post ones usually around 24 hours if you use a priority post box.

Oh wow I'm dumb... Didn't pay attention to the bit about it needing to be a priority post box. I just stuck it in the post box down the road

Do I need to order another one now?

To be honest it totally depends on the area you live in and also at the moment there is high demand. This time last year I waited 6 days for results of a postal test. I would hope for 48 hours but expect 4 days. X

Thanks, yeah I would imagine with the current situation it might take a little longer.

I've just phoned 119 and told them I accidentally put it in a normal post box and they've said it's not an issue as it's probably at the lab by now
