I'm not trying to educate anyone. Everyone has a choice and what they want to do. I chose to get vaccinated 1) due to the effects I have seen it has has had on people and for the protection of myself and others.. 2) to continue to work.

Totally agree, although let's face it. If quite a few of the unvaccinated die, wouldn't that be a good thing since we get rid of people naturally that just don't have any intelligence or regard for others.

I think it's simple. For those that don't wish to be vaccinated, that's their choice. Just have it noted on their medical records so that if they do catch COVID and need to be hospitalised, they are refused treatment. Only vaccinated to the front of the queue please for healthcare.

How about the armchair scientist sit down and allow those who have Had it to be happy that they did their research and are happy with their decision to have the vaccine. Likewise, those who have not had it have equally done their research and chosen not to.

Assuming, of course, those who all have such scientific backgrounds have read multiple sources of data to conclude their decision.

Sadly, people seem to spend more time researching the penis they put in them via verifications than they did the jab that went in them yet still feel qualified to comment with pop science.

Correct & I agree with the selection.

Only concern is who diagnosing and who decide?

I have been personally involved a situation when flatmate over dosed himself with painkillers because of toothpain the guy lost to communicate and was look really bad, I called ambulance I translated to the dutydoctor and help to assisst, we found the empty tablets dosagebox and explained to the doctor that is a simple uncontrolled drug* overdose .. but after 30mins of checking he told the magic word

"I think is coooovid" .. pfff

And then he tried to explain that is actually the new variant symptoms(i don't know at that time which alfabhet was the fav)

From that point by his Tablet he locked the whole house effective immediately and even I had test from the city earlier he refused and forced us to order an NHS one.

Third flatmate (61yrs old) come back from work at 8pm .. he did not even was there but he also was locked.

The consequences? Better not say

Why I wrote this story? I don't say anything not real .. but a problem that now is trend to use as a cover for anything that related with a symptoms of cold or flu (what a coincidence

I work in health care, I work in operating theatres and the ICU.

Can honestly say that we’ve had no vaccinated people on ventilators for over 4 months, couple with co-morbidities on O2 support but all our very ill have been unvaccinated. Currently have 7 on ventilators, all unvaccinated, one was carrying a fake vaccination card in his wallet.

Sad when relatives know they probably won’t make it and ask if they can be given the vaccine now to try and help.

Interesting people expect corruption and lying in every aspect of life, but never the pharmaceuticals one despite it being a billion dollar multi national industry like any other.

You have people too terrified of the whole thing and dying at home of gods knows what miserable in their final days because TV/gov said the NHS is going to collapse for the 452nd time in recent memory and it could be their fault.

If unvaccinated people end up being denied treatment that's breaking the hippocratic oath at the least, and murder at worst, the habitual d*unks, smokers, drug addicts, obese, health tourists et all will carry on going in I suppose?.

Whatever if i'm wrong i'm dead, if i'm right the worlds going to be a hellscape worse than now anyway, nobody wins.

!Sorry rant alert!

Some of the conditions we vaccinate against.

Polio, Tetanus, The Flu, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rubella, Hib, Measles, Pertussis, Pneumococcal Disease, Rotavirus, Mumps, Chickenpox, Diphtheria.

These are some serious conditions that require vaccines and if we didn't vaccinate against them alot of people would die. Most of these conditions mutate and need new vaccine variants every year and we don't question it, we get the vaccines to save life's.

What are people gaining by trying to promote a conspiracy idea that vaccines are bad for us when in fact there designed to safe lives.

Most people who make this assumption that vaccines are bad for us don't even have college qualifications, GCSE/O levels. The people who make vaccines are scientists with university degrees, phd's and hard earned and dedicated education. I really don't understand the mentality and theory behind promoting people not to get vaccines.

I get people are entitled to the own reality but the points about not getting safe from a deadly virus are very weak.

^^^ there you said death would be a good thing since we get rid of people...

Like I said ^^^ there ..Thats a fu**ed up world you inhabit.

Lets hope no one wishes that on you for any choice you make that others think differently to.

Healthcare worker here, my thoughts I'm sure il get told I'm chatting shit but from what I've seen and understand.

The vaccine is some what effective and definitely advised for those in high risk factor groups ( for example elderly, certain health conditions.) For most people under 50 that are generally fit and well you own immune system will do it's job and your probably have mild symptoms and be absolutely fine. If you believe that the hospital is full of COVID patients on ventilators and 90% are young unvaccinated you are being mislead. Did you know people with COVID in hospital numbers include those that have injuries and other illness not linked to COVID, this is why numbers at times seem high. Those that die whilst having COVID go down as COVID deaths although not all are the cause. A lot of people in this country suffer with anxiety which makes symptoms appear worse and clinicians have no choice but to take to hospital, however they are generally sent home a few hours later.

There has been an increase in adverse reactions and clots caused by the booster jabs again generally under 50s.

It is a personal choice and would not judge anyone either way. Do what's right for you! There is no evidence that leads me to believe that the vaccinated are less likely to spread the virus. I'm happy to be wrong so if the evidence is available I'm keen to see it. BBC is not a valid source.

So again do what's right for you.

Yes football is on the television but not all concerts will be.

Suppose some music artist who are unvaccinated could have a unvaccinated concert.

Stop spending time coming up with feeble excuses, man up, and protect your friends and family."

Thinking out loud... Hmm if the vaccines work, why do we need a booster? Is the booster not essentially a third vaccine, which could possibly mean that the first two dont work like they were advertised as doing?

What happens when another varient is found... Will we need another 'booster'?

The rate that this virus keeps mutating, it seems every winter we will need more boosters...

Hmmmm i think I'd prefer to rely on my immune system for now. I may change my mind...

When were the vaccines ‘advertised’ as able to eradicate the virus?

This vaccine, like any is meant to offer a degree of protection. At NO point was anybody told they would eradicate the virus.

Having spoken to a nurse who works on the Covid wards. I was informed that without the vaccine we’d still be seeing massive deaths every day. With it, the death rate and severity of infection have been greatly reduced. Which is what we were in fact told.

Some of us have to have the flu vaccine every year. It’s no hardship and if it helps us stay alive then why wouldn’t we?

You crack on though. There are far too many guys on this site anyway so if it thins the heard, carry on as you are.

Wow you think death is a good thing for people that have made a choice you disagree with? Really!! what a fu*ked up world you inhabit. "

Very interesting debate I have to say.

It is unusual to inoculate an entire population when the pre vaccine roll out recovery rate from the virus was over 98%. It also seems that the government keeps pushing the mantra that a vaccination program will help the NHS from becoming swamped.

That said I will follow the medical advice and have all three inoculations. I have had the virus also luckily with moderate ( heavy cold) symptoms. It seems there is little or no resistance to the mass inoculation to combat the HPV virus nor was there outcry when the polio and smallpox inoculations took place last century and the ongoing Hepatitis vaccination programs. When a voice was raised questioning the MMR inoculation program it was found to be spurious and under investigation rightly discounted.

I wonder if there would be a strong opposition to being inoculated with a vaccine to combat HIV infection?

Having seen what the virus can do I think it’s fair and equitable to the community as a whole to opt in to the vaccination program and try to limit the damage to society. I would also add I am totally against proof of vaccination being required to go about lawful business. It is an individual choice and one that should not be dictated by the state.

Good post, just to add to that, when you hear on the news that hospitals are at full capacity with no spare beds dues to Covid, it doesn’t mean that the hospital is packed, it means that the beds allocated to covid patients are all occupied.

Did you propose the same restriction(s) for any other jab people haven't had.?

my old mum didn't take the flu jab a few years ago as she was in hospital and the district nurses couldn't fit her back in.

Or

The people had previously had a jab and its lapsed,?

No treatment by your standards..

How about if they enter hospital and acquire it in there. Discharged and have to return ?

Still no treatment ?

Its a slippery slope you're standing on proposing such measures.

"Natural immunity so I don’t need the vaccine #following the science"

So is that a natural immunity that has been proven at a medical facility? If so you should be helping with further research.

Or is it like someone I spoke to recently 'I never ever even get a cold, so obviously I'm immune to covid'. Self-diagnoses immunity.

Sorry to sound a little (well a whole lot) sceptical. But these are the especially-sceptical times we live in.

It is a personal choice and would not judge anyone either way. Do what's right for you! There is no evidence that leads me to believe that the vaccinated are less likely to spread the virus. I'm happy to be wrong so if the evidence is available I'm keen to see it. BBC is not a valid source.

So again do what's right for you."

Thank you for sharing your insight. Confirms what many of us have suspected.

"I think people have the right not to be vaccinated but if they become ill and have to be hospitalized they should be charged for their care

Do you feel the same way about smokers who develop smoking related disease?"

I very much do. People who have alcohol-related problems, smokers, etc. Most of these people become a burden on society while having absolutely no regard for others. It's always the hard workers who have to pick up the pieces.

And get their NI contributions back "

This is just silly because NI contributions don't just go on the NHS.

Who is entitled to use the NHS free at the point of delivery in your opinion?

Well obviously you diddnt read about the 35 year old triathlete who said exactly the same, caught covid, and dies and his last words were that he wished he had taken the jab.

But go ahead play Russian roulette you got a one I 6 chance

Just getting the perspective right here . . . we all pay for the NHS in Taxation . . . so it never is free at the point of delivery and never has been. (those registered for uk tax and insurance)

'The free at the point of delivery' was a political sound bite in 1948. We have paid 'in-advance' for its use ever since.

"Why are so many people scared of a little vaccine?

Stop spending time coming up with feeble excuses, man up, and protect your friends and family.

Only vaccinated to the front of the queue please for healthcare."

So if we follow your logic we would not treat;

Alcohol related

Obesity related

Recreational drug related

Traffic accidents (speeding etc)

Where the person bought it upon themselves.

Ok how's that gonna work and who chooses?

"I work in health care, I work in operating theatres and the ICU.

A) thank you so much for the work that you and your colleagues do… hearing a lot of stories from ICU staff on here regarding patients with covid and it is heartbreaking…

B) unfortunately the unvaccinated on here will not listen to a single word you said and will probably rip your anecdotal experience you have been through word by word….

I am now going through the experience of my sister and my niece now having omicron having gotten it through her lodger… thank god so far they are only suffering mild symptoms ( sister is triple jabbed as she works for the NHS, niece can’t have jab since she is immunocompromised so had been ultra careful to this point)

Had my booster this morning…

That's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is make people pay for their choices! I am absolutely fine if someone doesn't want to have the vaccine - it just means that we should prioritise a vaccinated person who requires cancer treatment over an anti-vaxer who requires a ventilator. Personally I have no moral issues leaving the anti-vaxer to die in favour of saving someone else. We can't save everyone, and I think our resources are often spent trying to save those who are really not worth the effort, when instead they could be going to better causes.

How is it that people who don't want the vaccine are labelled anti-vaxxers?

I haven't had the vaccine but i'm not against it, instead i am pro choice. It's there for people who want it and that's fine by me.

By your logic a vaccinated person requiring treatment for a side effect should be denied as their ‘choice’ has landed them in that mess…

This whole “the unvaccinated shouldn’t get medical treatment” gets wheeled out regularly without considering what that truly means.

We have had Covid in the world for two years. It hit the UK (as far as we know) in Feb/Mar 2020.

We KNOW that people who smoke or people who are overweight/obese are at significantly higher risk of getting serious Covid symptoms and ending up hospitalised, needing ICU or dying.

And yet how many people have taken personal responsibility over the last 12-18mths to give up smoking, lose weight, get fit, improve their diet, reduce alcohol consumption etc?

Are you proposing withholding medical treatment from them?

So what does "free at the point of delivery mean"? I understand it to mean that you don't pay for treatment at the time, which is what's happening (unless you have private health care). I know all the tax and national insurance contributers pay.

In the context of some of the discussion in this thread I assume the point here is that some people advocate denying access to medical treatment that the people being denied have already paid towards.

"Where they end up in the healthcare setting and the effects it has

As an unvaccinated person who has had covid twice, 1st time pre vaccination times, 2nd time with minimal symptoms, I'm still not sure what you mean tbh....

I'm glad you had mild symptoms. It's a risk and decision people can choose. I'm just going from my experience and what I have witnessed first hand. "

While a rare case I have a client who developed guillane barres syndrome and is unable to walk raise her arms etc. who was a healthy unvaccinated person… she’s now a not so healthy vaccinated person, luckily though she’s been told she should expect a full recovery…. Apart from she will be unlikely to return to her career due to the lack of dexterity in her hands. .. which I thought might mean not quite a full recovery! In my non medically trained naivety I thought full recovery meant full recovery not a full recovery with a career ending side effect… who knew!

I won’t say what I really want to say because I would probably get 96hrs on the naughty step… but if you have had it unknowingly and passed it on to others and they has had consequences to them, with your attitude then I would be sorely tempted to use the words “reckless endangerment” and “criminally negligent”
