I was out for dinner last night I'm out twice next weekend and I don't intend on changing that.
So long as venues are open I'll be there.
I've no plans to hide away and nor will I stop welcoming friends into my home |

Not taking any chances as I have people who would be very badly affected by it.
Unfortunately I still have to work with people who don't care about anyone but themselves so I avoid them as much as possible.
I'm hoping this variant will be be the mutation that turns covid into just a bad cold and we can all live again.  |

Not really. I was already wearing a mask in most places.
To be honest from what I've heard so far I feel less concerned now than at any stage of the pandemic. |

I've been very careful throughout the whole pandemic, even staying at home for the whole winter last year, I saw no one. I'm still being careful but I'm back out at the shops, only when I need to though. I have a club night to go to next Saturday and I'm going to it as I refuse to hide away again x |

Works Xmas do in London last night. The Hoxton area was rammed so I’m guessing the rest of London’s social areas were as well.
I was on the verge on cancelling but I’m going to work from home and isolate for a week and see where I am.
I see Xmas day being the same as last year at this rate.  |

At the rate its flying around our local area its not a case of if, its when will we catch it. So I'm avoiding my vulnerable family until next year as we made no Xmas plans on purpose for this very reason |

Always been cautious, never stopped wearing masks throughout and only ventured out of the country once in 22 months where as we normally travel abroad every 6 to 8 weeks, we still caught Covid though but we were both more ill with the booster than the virus so not overly concerned about catching it again but still doing our bit by not going here there and everywhere and especially not to crowded places. |

I carried on wearing a mask while in shops etc and that will carry on but unfortunately due to how members of the government have conducted themselves I doubt the public will mask up and follow protocols |

That's interesting.
I've decided not to have the booster for now at least.
I was pretty ill with covid. The first jab was almost as bad but shorter. Second one not quite so bad but I've had enough with having had flu jabs too!
I'd been wondering if people had had a bad time with boosters. |

I am trebled jab and had the bug.
There is no scientific analysis to suggest this variant will or has caused a greater degree of illness. The plan b restrictions are a diversionary tactic by the buffoon who is in the chair at the moment.
There has to be a realisation this virus will need to be managed and if the objective is to protect the NHS then this government has had time to put a plan together to mitigate the third wave. |

Yeah my second jab was more like that.
But right now I'm not convinced they know anything much about the efficacy of a third jab plus in effect I've already got that level of protection having had the illness. |

The science is proven to work not only in this latest public health crisis but in assisting with limiting of other viral infections.
I just don’t get why people have a problem with having the vaccine. It’s the responsible action to take. |

I think at some point we will all catch it, the odds of me dodging it for next 40 years are very slim. Am also more afraid, emotionally, of being locked down. So am fully vaccinated to protect against serious illness.
I do though worry about giving it to other people, so am doing a lateral flow test regularly and before meeting anyone. |

All well and good but lost 3 people this year not one to covid directly but because of the lockdown and fear of covid, there is no time in this life to waste on being scared we must go live our life in our way. |

I am as we live with my mum and she is vulnerable and my eldest has asthma, so I wouldn’t want him to get it from me (although more likely to catch it in School).
I also work in the care industry and if I accidentally were to pass it on to colleagues who then pass it on themselves, the knock on effects could be devastating.
I’m not a social butterfly and I’m quite reclusive so it’s not a hardship for me.

Just living life but wearing a mask when needed, im afraid covid is here to stay in its various strains i for 1 am not hiding away anymore but will test myself regularly to protect my family and friends ? |

If people haven't been vaccinated then I respect their choice but it is there decision to take that risk. I will though continue to take lateral flow tests.

That's why I do a lateral flow test but those I am with are voluntarily choosing to interact with me as well.
I also do think this crisis is here for years and case numbers will remain high. I have to balance that with my mental health and wellbeing.
Hence my conclusion to get fully vaccinated, test myself regularly but then carry on with life. I understand for others it will be a different judgement call and respect that. |

Mine lasted about 36 hours and was muscle aches, headache, nausea, joint stiffness, skin felt burnt, skin on hands felt like it was going to rip open, first the chills then a fever, also bad taste in the mouth and tongue felt like I’d been licking a battery, apart from that ok, I thought I had covid but test was negative so just my body didn’t care much for the booster  |

Yes I’m being super cautious although I have been anyway because of RSV and the risk to my baby not just covid. I’m avoiding crowds, doing regular lateral flows. Had a family party yesterday but we are all double or triple vaxed and took lateral flows. Not meeting anyway and as my baby is young I had a good excuse to avoid the work’s Christmas do. |

I've been cautious throughout, not just for me but also my loved ones. I recently witnessed a less cautious friend nearly die in hospital and dont know yet what the long term effect on his life will be. |

Taking it a bit slower.
I'm seeing the numbers increase at work.
No deaths as yet but a few younger folks quite poorly.
Next few weeks will be interesting.
Did start going to parties again but looks like back to square one for a bit.
Will lockdowns start, doubt it, but let's see how we get along up to Christmas.

You took the words right out of my mouth, and some that have not had vaccines wish they had. You'll still catch it but you might not be so bad it does offer protection. Some of the comment I've read are awful on here and fb .nurses and drs are trying there best...you had vaccines and things when you were young and thought nothing this one was made a little faster but they still knew what they were doing.working 24/7 . Trouble is everyone is a expert ...not!!!
This is a virus we won't get rid of it for ages but we can help ourselves...choices yes..but will you still want the NHS if you need to be ventilated or help its all new and we learn as we go through it... |

I’m being cautious but also enjoying myself.
Just been in manchester for the weekend and see my folks in a week. As before this, my interaction with others is zero, except my lad. I took daily lfts leading up to this weekend and throughout, that will continue through this week until I see my folks and they are doing the same.
This is going to be around for a long time, vaccines or not. Life has been on hold way too long and you have to make your own personal choices around risk. |

Not being more cautious at all. I’m fully vaccinated and when, as i do,i regularly visit cafes, pubs, restaurants etc i take the view that everyone else there is vaccinated and being careful around their vulnerable friends and relatives. I am not prepared to hide indoors indefinitely in the belief that i have to spend my life protecting mankind from something i probably don’t have. |

I’m being a fairly cautious in the lead up to Christmas mainly with ‘selfish’ reasons in mind. I want to minimise the likelihood of having to isolate over Christmas. At the moment something like a works do feels no way worth it. I understand others’ choices not to miss out but this Christmas is particularly important to me
My mum is receiving chemotherapy for a blood cancer, I visit semi regularly and have been mindful in the lead up to visiting her. At the moment I’m thinking/behaving similarly to how I do usually at those times |

I'm certainly more cautious. I need a passport for all venues, stay masked in public, use gloves when touching things in public and last had a PCR test 4 days ago, to help to protect others. Other measures, including hand washing etc are just common sense and helpful |
