Taking bets for lockdown dates.
15th December is mine.
Put yours down and if you're correct you'll get a prize..
Glad I bought 500 PP3s from JTF when they were closing as finally finally common sense is prevailing on masks... |

I think it will run Mon 20th Dec to Sun Jan 2nd the final day.
At least my PS5 is finally arriving this week. Time to get some new games and get ready to bunker down. I was a key worker and worked throughout all previous lockdowns, however our services naturally shut down over Xmas & New Year so even without a lock down this will be a period where I can finally have some time to relax and recharge the batteries.

Christmas Dinner's already in the freezer, just in case as well as 48 bog rolls."

We'll see.
- can't afford and got no choice are two different things..
- Many European countries can't afford them either, but they are currently in lockdown.
- BJ asked us to use common sense over masks. I've seen very little of that over summer...!@ |

Austria and Slovakia are only 2 in full lockdown at present from which I can search i might be wrong.
Every time a mutating strain appears lockdown is the answer? The world will stop moving forward we need to learn to live with it |

We know a lot about this disease and it's transmission, so if lockdown happens it will be the fault of the anti vaxxers and people who think they are entitled not to wear a mask and don't think they're affected |

I never said I'd support it but would comply with any ruling.
As said, if it does happen, as said earlier it is the selfish numpties that refuse to wear masks in public places, still go out even though confirmed infected (40% admit to still going out even after a positive test) and scream injustice and denial of their liberty to reign free to infect others.
When restrictions were lifted, it was on the understanding of 'public common sense'. Quite simply, there is none and probably the same people who shout and scream at any mention of Masks wearing and lockdown, yet continue to refuse to do the right thing to protect others.
When you go to 6 school open days where school have asked for masks to be worn, to get there and amongst the 100s of other parents there - only 6 are wearing masks.
Consideration of others - Zero.

Politicians lie all the time.
However, in this case, he didn't know this would emerge. It might have been a rash thing to say. But if it is as bad as some make it out to be, keeping a promise where it might lead to healthcare collapse would be beyond psychopathy. |

Like it or not, this whole issue hinges around NHS bed capacity.
I can speak from a position of knowledge because my partner lives, eats and breathes this on a daily basis.
We are about to enter Flu season when typically beds are blocked and unfortunately critical operations are held up because there is simply nowhere for patients to go after they’ve been in theatre.
With a new variant the fear is it could spike NHS admissions, block ICU and HDU beds up which means the general public won’t get treatment in their hour of need for conditions unrelated to Covid. Until the governments of the world know how this variant works, they are reacting with urgency (they stalled and got it wrong in the past don’t forget).
To all the moaning b@st@rds, it’s so if you have a serious accident you can get get a bed and receive the treatment you need and expect. It really is that simple.
Put your masks on, stop moaning and get on with it, we’ve been here before and we got through it by following the guidance set down by experts with far more knowledge than us lot.
I’ll be having this same conversation with staff at work tomorrow.
It is what it is |

Sorry but a flimsy piece of cloth from Tesco’s is not going to do anything, didn’t last time won’t this time.
Plus since when did bojo give a crap about the NHS he doesn’t, clap for the workers to axe them of a vaccine that is simply useless and doesn’t work.

Giving kids a 3 week Christmas holiday would be a start.
Mix and mingle a virus 4x to 5x transmission rate is perfect setting for schools. It's what should have been done last year rather than the one day return fiasco in January letting it get out of control for 3 months.
Jab 3 for me Tuesday..

It may be better to rely on the government for news of restrictions. I'm assuming that there will only be measures other than lockdown in England. |

It is what it is
Sorry but a flimsy piece of cloth from Tesco’s is not going to do anything, didn’t last time won’t this time.
Plus since when did bojo give a crap about the NHS he doesn’t, clap for the workers to axe them of a vaccine that is simply useless and doesn’t work.
All this variant crap, it’s just a flimsy cold as it’s winter time.
Scaremongering media
Can you provide evidence on:
1. Flimsy pieces of cloth from Tesco not doing anything
2. Why it didn't do anything last time.
We’re still in the same boat 20 months on going round and round in pathetic circles.
If the so called masks are great then why are doctors dying of it."
We are not in the same boat as 20 months ago, despite people like you doing their best to make it so... Please keep up

Doctors are subjected to high viral loads. Very sick patients and large numbers.
Are masks 100% effective? No. Has anyone ever claim they were? No.
Do they offer some protection? Yes. If you talk to someone with covid for 1 minute or someone else for 15 mins, which of those is more likely to pass on covid to you? If course, 15 mins. Why? Because you are subjected to viral load for longer. It's not a game of Tig/tick in the school playground! If they are wearing a mask then some of that load is caught by the mask and the velocity of the load is reduced which in turn reduces the spread. It keeps you safer and reduces the chances of you catching it.
It's really quite simple. I don't understand who people don't get it. |

What about if it was left to the people to decide individually nothing shut down but you must wear a mask outside your home vaccinations for those who want them no treatment on the NHS for those who refuse them for covid related illness or else pay for it for some people covid does not exist it's a huge plan by governments for what i don't know it's not worth keeping track of me with that tiny microchip I've had three inserted what exactly do they do |

As it stands another lockdown is hugely unlikely, deaths are still very very low and early reports on the new variant is that symptoms are minor. If that remains the case there is no chance of lockdown. |

No as had 1st simply to go on holiday, won’t be getting any more "
So your profile is wrong? You’re not fully vaccinated? Maybe best to change it then eh? |

Is 'lying' about your vaccine status grounds for Admin to get involved.
It's a bold statement "P.s im fully vaccinated also" and then claim having had only one jab to go on holiday.
If I was a couple/female intending to meet, I'd be concerned of
1) Deception in order to give false sense of security
2) Is there anything else there is economy of the truth
3) Safety implications of being with someone who may be at higher risk of carrying infection, who claimed they were fully vaccinated.

The government can have another lockdown if they want but currently the national debt is around 108% of our GDP, so realistically no furlough is going to be put in place, so who will stay at home this time watching daytime TV if they aren’t going to get paid ! |

Doubling 2x every 2-3 days..
Hmm, are we still on for the 15th?"
So what?
Hospital numbers are stable or falling. As far as I can see there have been o hospitalisations or deaths in the UK from omicron. WHO suggesting Omicron produces mild disease, especially in the vaccinated. Booster vaccines appear to work against it.
There is no justification for more restrictions, let alone a full lockdown.
This madness must stop. |

Why OTT?
Someone falsely claiming they are fully vaccinated in a profile to simply trick and mislead others into assuming they are safe to meet.
Then openly admits in other postings has only had one jab to obtain a certificate and yet in another refusing a booster. Not exactly fully vaccinated, is it?
Not fully vaccinated and out with no mask on, you'd be bonkers to want to meet.
Admin should be involved, it is an abusive use of their system.
I am open, I have had all three jabs, happy to take more as offered, wear a mask when out.
You honestly believe, if asked, you'd be told the truth? |

People claim to be straight when they are bi, single when married, safe sex but have pics of bare back, the list is endless. Why would there Covid status be any different ?
I read on the forums all the time about single people talking about their partners while their profile says different, the mods don't and can't get involved.
As for anyone with values to their health the only way to be sure is to ask for proof of vaccination if that is on your mind. like minded people probably won't mind, the ones who take offence maybe aren't right for you. But each to their own to have that discussion. |

Does the treasury have to cough up?
Other countries don't, January as mentioned would be better for Boz so he can claim he saved Christmas.
I suspect reality of 1million infections by the end of the month at a rate if 2x every day. Could be a very, very high price to pay, even for someone willing to let bodies pile up in the streets.
I only hope backbenchers voting to rebel next week are ready to wash blood off their hands if it all goes wrong as even if the percentage dying is lower, the number of people infected will be exponential.
My bet is still on the 15th. But already close so could be as others have said, day after Boxing Day.
Scotland Wales and Ireland already closing down. There are too many clowns walking around shops without masks, pubs and schools are open, it is inevitable. |

Masks required in pubs and restaurants in Wales except when eating or drinking. When asked for clarification a Welsh government spokesperson stated that when not seated (eg going to bar etc) masks must be worn. Review period in Wales reduced from 3 weeks to weekly reviews. |

The lockdown and mask masturbators love it.
They keep following and complying with this nonsense and they can expect more of it with ever more restrictive controls on their lives gradually coming in, always under the guise of keeping them safe and that we have a public health emergency at large.
They’re the reason this continues.
Don’t forget that. |

So who would support a 3/6 week lockdown without any money from the government?
No furlough/payments/benefits at all?
We know a lot about this disease and it's transmission, so if lockdown happens it will be the fault of the anti vaxxers and people who think they are entitled not to wear a mask and don't think they're affected"
You say the fault of the anti vaxxers but won’t they be the ones who don’t get tested??

Why do schools and hospitality keep getting the blame. We got fully locked down on boxing day last year, a lot of schools had already been off for a week, possibly more. Hospitality then closed on the 26th, yet even after a couple of weeks cases were allegedly still rising. So they can't get the blame! |

Because schools are known for inter-transmission of all sorts of bugs and viruses.
Its not 'blame', its just a fact. Classrooms are full of sniffing, coughing kids who then take it home to families.
I've seen it 4 times within our own family group, kid turns up sniffing, caught another cold at school. Ask who at school was also sniffing, the answer tends to be 'everyone'.
Friend of mine is a teacher and she's said it been Wave after wave of colds this season. Luckily, they have only been colds but its only a matter of time..

Boris and the government currently Remind me of a dog running in circles chasing it's tail.
What happened to flattening the curve?
All the sound bites are a joke.
He's given in to the mass anti brigade who's militant attitudes and aggressive behaviour has him running scared.
Rather than being a strong leader and leading he's swung one way now the other.
I really used to like Boris when he helped bring the Olympics to London and the Boris bike's.
But a strong inspirational leader he is not.
That said I can't imagine any current politician from any party being up to the challenge over the past couple of years.
In fact as much as it sticks in my throat and makes me gag saying it Thatcher is the only person I can think of who would have been strong enough.
But I think it's time for a change in government the Tories are/have destroyed the NHS and we are well on our way to an American style system then we are pretty much fucked. |

Good old Boris - not something to do with "I'd rather let bodies pile up in the streets" first?
Now the Tories are ripping Chris Whitty to bits for giving honest sound advice, while stood next the the man spouting off that Christmas parties should continue. Has this something his hypocrisy knowing the reaction if he did?
I am not a Royalist but hell, Boris needs to take a leaf out of the Queen's book. She did the right thing at Philips funeral and cancelling her own family at a time they are needed most, to show solidarity.
Just heard from a friend, her son is 16, healthy, played both rugby and football. Caught COVID in July, last couple days has been in A&E with enlarged lungs and heart, heartbeat is irregular with severe palpitations.
Just hope this variant doesn't carry a long-covid sting in its tail. |

You do know his current issue is extremely unlikely to be linked to his Covid months ago, right? |

So, you've not heard the term Long-Covid, his doctors certainly have.
I'll tell him it's bullshit then and he's having us all on and to stop fussing!! |

"Boris has come out and said he is not planning a lockdown.
Translation prepare for lockdown. "
Notice the psyops gaining pace, SAGE 'leak' that was actually posted on .GOV website, Sajid Javid now saying nothing ruled out, Boris claiming he'll do what he has too, regardless.
Is it Wednesday or Thursday using the lame claim, we have to do this to protect the NHS?
PRIZE is awaiting the winner any other suggested dates? |

"Taking bets for lockdown dates.
15th December is mine.
Put yours down and if you're correct you'll get a prize..
Glad I bought 500 PP3s from JTF when they were closing as finally finally common sense is prevailing on masks...
Still either on drugs or on the payroll we see !!! |

"Even if the bellend that is boris Johnson imposes a lockdown simply will not comply to this utter nonsense.
Enough is enough plain and simple as that,
Do this do that, how about 2 words and ends in OFF
And there you have it...the kind of attitude that means we're still in this mess...FFS!
I’m being honest, covid is gonna be around forever more even after all of us have passed.
Nothing wrong with my attitude at all,
So much for Johnson saying not going back, he’s a liar quicker a new election the better
Politicians lie all the time.
However, in this case, he didn't know this would emerge. It might have been a rash thing to say. But if it is as bad as some make it out to be, keeping a promise where it might lead to healthcare collapse would be beyond psychopathy."
Know what would emerge? the cold ? |

"Why do schools and hospitality keep getting the blame. We got fully locked down on boxing day last year, a lot of schools had already been off for a week, possibly more. Hospitality then closed on the 26th, yet even after a couple of weeks cases were allegedly still rising. So they can't get the blame! "

Agreed this place can bring out the worst in people and not just on the subject of lockdown |
