Who has no idea how the isolation and restriction rules apply. Seem just so confusing. So my 20 year old autistic son tested positive on Friday (which I must say has not been easy). Now his 18 year old brother has tested negative but his job said he can go back as long as his PCR comes back negative too, even though he’s not double jabbed. I thought he still had to isolate for 10 days. Then there are my younger 2 how does school work? Please can some one break it down for me |

"I'd check with the NHS/government website relevant to your local area. That should reflect current rules, as our own opinions may be wrong.
It can't be easy for you! You've my full sympathy "
Thank you. I have looked but to be honest it’s been rather stressful and over whelming my brain is fried |

If someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:
you're fully vaccinated – this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine given by the NHS
you're under 18 years, 6 months old
So if your 18 year old is under the age above he doesn’t need to isolate. If he’s over the 18 and 6 months mark and not double jabbed then he does need to isolate regardless of the PCR result. The younger 2 can still go to school.

Cause apparently if you're 18 years, 5 months old you are incapable of spreading it. What a joke this government has been throughout
Ridiculous rules like this are why most have stopped giving a shit. |

It really doesn’t make sense. Some of it is so contradictory I’m not sure how it’s supposed to help |

Because people have stopped giving a shit we're on a rollercoaster of changeing rules and guidelines.

Winston" Some of the decisions made by this government have been ridiculous long before people stopped caring. Its been a laundry list of failures. Can't blame people for being sick of it. |

"If you have common sense just use it and forget the "rules"
Anyone has it should isolate
Anyone been near someone has it they should at least use lft daily for a week or two" All well and good but I doubt my workplace would accept the excuse of "I don't legally have to isolate but I'm gonna do it anyway cause I fancy it"
Vague nonsensical rules make it far more complicated than it needs to be. Especially when it comes to an arbitrary age limit on whether or not you have to isolate. |

I’m literally happy to keep everyone home, but apparently the “rules” don’t apply to the 18 year olds work place and I have a feeling the youngest twos school will want them to go in and I will be at fault for not sending them. |

I agree with this now. I was all for the rules but even I can't say any of it makes sense anymore.
Unfortunately some people don't have common sense. We used to have people absolutely streaming with cold, fever, coughing, in the office spreading it to everyone else, long before covid. |

Yes I will do thank you. Just thought I would try to make sense of the rules that don’t make sense |

Pcr test wasn’t made to secrecy for viruses and never was complete scam |

Thats just a jumble of unconnected words. I've rarely seen such an incomprehensible post. As a sentence it makes absolutely zero sense.

Well my daughters school said I can send her in even though we haven’t had the pcr results yet, knowing full well someone has covid in this house. Is it just me that thinks this is ludicrous.
No I didn’t send her in. |

It makes no sense to me either. But I do know of people who have house members with confirmed covid yet they didn't catch it. It's very weird.
Hope the PCR are negative. |

It’s been the way since August, only the person tested positive needs to isolate, unless others are showing symptoms. We operated like this for the last month of term last July, the children or adults just took a daily lft test for up to ten days. |
