So now boosters offered to the over 40's because of waning immunity. That will be three jabs in less than 12 months.
If we are being told that covid will be around for years and that we have to live with it...then it looks like boosters every six months due to waning immunity.
Meaning this time next year, some people could be on jab number five.
Restrictions still being threatened, plan b waiting in the wings..
We were told this time last year that once the vaccine was available and the vulnerable were protected that normality would resume.
I can't help but feel that one year from now, we'll be in the same position as now, with Christmas being threatened again, people who aren't up to date with boosters may as well be unvaccinated.
Are you comfortable with taking boosters every six months for potentially years to come?

Yup I am completly comfortable with the use of vaccines and with receiving a booster vaccine when it is now showing to give up to 94% protection from symptomatic infection, hopefully in time they will be able to modify th3 vaccine to give us yearly protection the same as the flu vaccine but until then if it means 6 monthly vaccine boosters to give a good level of protection so be it as it will mean less chance of restrictions as so long as the virus is reduced to a level where it doesn't place people in hospital we should be free of the need for any restrictions. |

The current vaccines have been the strongest tool that has helped us to reopen society again here. They stimulate our natural immune responses and are then broken down and leave the body. Having mixed vaccine types has been shown to be very effective and safe, so I'd have no problem with their ongoing use, except for the fact that many millions of people have had no vaccine yet.
Future vaccines may differ and deliver longer lasting immunity, which could be a good thing  .
It's fairly standard for many vaccines not to provide lifetime immunity, so nothing new here.
I don't for 1 second believe that the government had any plan, beyond the next day or so. If the PM has form for lies, it wouldn't be wise to believe him, would it!? |

I've been having flu jabs for years and must have had several brands. No issues. It's been studied in Covid and seems to be safe to mix brands.
If I need boosters I need boosters. That doesn't concern me at all.
I've got no idea what the future holds but vaccination is the most powerful tool at my disposal. |

I believe it’s only certain people getting the booster. I’ve had two, a friend of mine has had 3… apparently I’m not getting the booster as even though I’m over 50 and have asthma, I wasn’t on the Sheilding list so therefore I’m not entitled to a booster…. Go figure!
However I will be getting my flu jab next week where the boosters are also given and I will be asking why! |

You’re not mixing the drugs though, you have to be 24 weeks since the last vaccine, so the last injection is out of your system but you are left with the immunity
No flu vaccine is the same year to year either.
Though I do think they might be over doing the Covid vaccine though |

I don't like the idea of being coerced into topping up a vaccine twice a year. I feel better living a healthy lifestyle and doing what I can to boost my immune system naturally. I worry that we are so preoccupied with quick fix solutions and "magic bullets" that we people neglect their health and won't make sensible changes to give themselves the best chance of avoiding serious side effects.
Whilst I understand the need to give boosters to the most in need or vulnerable in our society I do worry that by rolling out a mass booster scheme we, as a rich developed nation, will greedily deprived impoverished countries of supplies of vaccine for their people in need. |

2 years ago, none of us had any immunity to covid. If nothing had been done then we would have built up natural immunity quickly at great expense. Many people who have survived due to having treatment at the right time would have died due to sheer demands on the NHS.
We are now in a position through natural immunity and the vaccine that we can live fairly normally which is brilliant BUT the virus is still able to spread. The vaccine doesn't seem to be as good as we had hoped but also not everyone has been vaccinated. Also, immunity is waning for older people at the same time. Over time waning immunity will become more staggered and we will be more exposed to the virus on a regular basis keeping our immune system on its toes...that's when we are in a position to live with the virus. |

Personal choice. I’m comfortable with it for reasons other have stated, but I also recognise others will be less comfortable. Just as not everyone vaccinated against tetanus etc., neither should they be coerced to have this one.
Can’t force medical treatment on people. That’s social engineering of sorts - and that way madness lies.
We’re going to have to live with this thing so the sooner we stop bitching and fighting about it, the better. |

I'm 64 with Asthma. Not required to shield, and I have just had my booster. I went for my flu jab, got chatting and they me the booster in the other arm. |

Good points. Any booster offered is optional, of course. The UK is both fortunate/unfortunate as the most vulnerable had their vaccines starting a year ago - and winter is our weakest point, for the NHS burdens and our diminishing immunity. It's sod's law, that just as we need our weakest to be fit and immune, that they're less so.
It will help us all to improve our health and immune system strength as much as possible. Unfortunately, elderly people have diminishing capability to do this, as it naturally wanes with age.
I agree on the tradeoff, us having extra vaccines, whilst others have none. It's a moral dilemma.  |

Two years we had no vaccine. Who knows, as they learn more about Covid that in a years time they will come up with one that will mean you no longer need boosters. There is already a pill on trial.
Meanwhile, we need to get through the most contagious time for viruses, winter. And the booster will help with that.

The research had also been done when they started jabbing under 40's with the AZ jab, then all of a sudden it wasn't safe for the under 40's, unless you were one of the unlucky ones already jabbed, tough luck for us lot, just cross your fingers and hope you aren't gonna be a statistic shrugged off by the masses.

Everyone over 50 is entitled to a booster.
As long as it has been 6 months since your second dose you can get a booster if you want one. |

You should have been offered a booster as long as it's 6 months from your second jab. Although I had to book mine online. I am only getting mine because of my weight |

I wonder if people took the time to have a look at the governments yellow card system they’d be as keen and as quick to go and keep being jabbed. Nearly 2000 deaths so far from the jab and nearly 200,000 adverse effects.
And those are just the ones that are reported, which is thought to be around 1% - 10% of actual reports meaning there could be much more out there that isn’t reported.
It’s all there if you just go and look at it. You’re playing Russian roulette with this experimental jab. |

Everyone over 50 is entitled to a booster.
As long as it has been 6 months since your second dose you can get a booster if you want one. "

Yes and Yes
We do this for flu, albeit annually.
Makes sense for Covid.
It's personal choice whether to be vaccinated or not.
However, I am concerned that vaccines are being used here when so many countries are desperate for them. |

From the jab?
"Usage of the vaccines has increased over the course of the campaigns and as such, so has reporting of fatal events with a temporal association with vaccination. However, this does not mean that there is a link between vaccination and the fatalities reported"
I believe your 2000 is the total of reported deaths after the jab. Not those related to the jab.
I think related is about 80 from scanning the report. |

You seem to he misremembering. Noone said vaccine and it's over aftern one or two shots. All the experts said this is with us amd will disrupt for years |

COVID Vaccine adverse reactions and deaths are a very real thing that’s unquestionably and factual. Both are happening right now worldwide but hardly get a mention anywhere in any country especially in the Uk. All those hundreds of thousands of people could even be millions worldwide who have suffered as a consequence of getting the jab hardly get mentioned or talked about anywhere due to censorship. Vaccine adverse reactions and deaths are underreported significantly. It is estimated that only 10% are reported via the yellow card scheme system that a lot of people are not even aware of. On top of that not all medical professionals are reporting Covid vaccines adverse reactions and deaths and simply dismissing them all together as not being connected to the Jab in any way, especially when the person has no other underlying health conditions. So the actual numbers will be significantly higher and these are only the short term adverse effects that are being underreported at the moment, god knows what the long or medium term adverse reactions could potentially be as different people react differently to different vaccines in so many different ways. Time will tell. If numbers are going to be high how are they going to hide all the mounting evidence that this COVID vaccine does actually cause many healthy people with no underlying health conditions to have blood clots, heart inflammation, heart attacks, strokes, Bell’s palsy, pregnancy miscarriages etc etc or is that already happening at this early stage? Wether it’s rare or not it shouldn’t be happening as a consequence of the vaccines or any vaccine to that matter but unfortunately the truth it it is happening worldwide but grossly underreported. I have friends who are nurses and doctors that work in A&E and they have confirmed that they are now getting a lot of double jabbed patients in who are getting ill from the vaccines but nothing ever gets mentioned in the news or media. Vaccine deaths and injuries are real and so are the serious adverse reactions that they cause but hardly any mention of them what so ever in the mainstream media, news or social media platforms. All that information is either censored, suppressed and taken down or banned. Doctors, nurses, scientist are also being silenced too and threatened to keep quite and are scared to speak out in case they are blacklisted. I thought it was about informed consent looking at all the facts, evidence and making an informed decision on wether to get the jab or not but with out the truth and real data how can this ever happen no wonder people are still refusing the jab and I don’t blame them. Give them all the facts and leave them to decide and stop hiding the truth. I personally know a work colleague who had a adverse reaction to her booster jab pericarditis and she’s only 32 with no underlying heart condition or family history of heart disease. It occurred with in 2 weeks of her getting the booster. |

For my first two vaccinations in a clinical trial, my informed consent documentation ran to about 40 pages.
My third dose was a standard vaccine, and it listed the known side effects and had the Yellow Card Scheme listed in a bolded separate box. I used it, as I experienced a rash. (which may or may not have been connected)
It didn't say anything about gene therapy in the same way it didn't say it would be administered by Donald Trump - because both of these things are bullshit.
I'm also aware of the gaming of informed consent to include a bunch of stuff that's not true - in some circles, known as misinformed refusal. |

Vaccine adverse reactions and deaths are underreported significantly. It is estimated that only 10% are reported via the yellow card scheme system that a lot of people are not even aware of. On top of that not all medical professionals are reporting Covid vaccines adverse reactions and deaths and simply dismissing them all together as not being connected to the Jab in any way, especially when the person has no other underlying health conditions. So the actual numbers will be significantly higher and these are only the short term adverse effects that are being underreported at the moment, god knows what the long or medium term adverse reactions could potentially be as different people react differently to different vaccines in so many different ways. Time will tell. If numbers are going to be high how are they going to hide all the mounting evidence that this COVID vaccine does actually cause many healthy people with no underlying health conditions to have blood clots, heart inflammation, heart attacks, strokes, Bell’s palsy, pregnancy miscarriages etc etc or is that already happening at this early stage? Wether it’s rare or not it shouldn’t be happening as a consequence of the vaccines or any vaccine to that matter but unfortunately the truth it it is happening worldwide but grossly underreported. I have friends who are nurses and doctors that work in A&E and they have confirmed that they are now getting a lot of double jabbed patients in who are getting ill from the vaccines but nothing ever gets mentioned in the news or media. Vaccine deaths and injuries are real and so are the serious adverse reactions that they cause but hardly any mention of them what so ever in the mainstream media, news or social media platforms. All that information is either censored, suppressed and taken down or banned. Doctors, nurses, scientist are also being silenced too and threatened to keep quite and are scared to speak out in case they are blacklisted. I thought it was about informed consent looking at all the facts, evidence and making an informed decision on wether to get the jab or not but with out the truth and real data how can this ever happen no wonder people are still refusing the jab and I don’t blame them. Give them all the facts and leave them to decide and stop hiding the truth. I personally know a work colleague who had a adverse reaction to her booster jab pericarditis and she’s only 32 with no underlying heart condition or family history of heart disease. It occurred with in 2 weeks of her getting the booster. "
It’s sad how blindly people have just rolled up their sleeves and allowed themselves to be part of an experiment without even being told they are part of one. But you still can’t tell them that they are now a guinea pig in phase 3 human trials which run until 2023 and that it’s skipped animal trials. And when animals have been used in the past for a corona virus vaccine that all the animals died. All these things are easy to find out and all over the websites of the pharmaceutical companies that tried to develop these vaccines.
And if you look at how corrupt Phizer are and the criminal activities they’ve been done for yet people are still happy to trust them.

Hate to spoil it, but I am an A&E doc who has been working with this virus since Feb 20 and hasn’t got it (Christ knows how!). And I have had both jabs and getting my booster next week.
It’s not an experiment so stop that nonsense.
Stop fucking fighting about this. Either have it or don’t - I really don’t care that much. If you don’t want it then don’t get it but stop fucking moaning about it and justifying your moans with strawman arguments and blatant mistruths. A real quick look suggests the Sheffield paper is not the survey but an analysis of different sources.
There is a UNISON survey referenced but that looks unhelpfil in supplying answers.

The bits imin low pay, fear of being ill etc are from "Opponents of mandatory vaccination" and don't seem cite a source for this. At best it's quotes from GMB rather than the people themselves.
But even taking it as read it's a genuine concern, it leads to me asking... How many people need recuperation, and for how long. How does this compare to the average time off when ill (and risk or getting ill). That is, is it a well calculated risk... Or one based on anecdotal evidence and therefore to some extent fear. |

From what I can tell, safety has been all tested.
I suspect we need to be careful what we mean by experimental drugs and phases. It leads people to think dangerous. I'm not sure those links are supporting that view.
