We are flying to Dubai. I booked a fly-to-fit PCR test with the same provider as always but I'm just reading that I need RT PCR test. I have no idea if the one I ordered is RT.
Do you guys know of PCR tests are “RT” type ? |

I did the same but reading on the Emirates website it is saying that home kits are not acceptable.
Have you travelled already or will be going ?

Hi, I flew to dubai 3 weeks ago with Emirates. Completed a fit to fly pcr test at the chemist. They emailed me a cert. The home pcr kits are fine too. As long as u register them and results are emailed to you with 48 hours.. |

It was you who said home kits weren't accepted!
This is what the Emirates website says, no mention of home kits:
"Rules for travel from the United Kingdom
All passengers travelling to Dubai from the UK must hold a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before departure and the certificate must be a Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test. Note that NHS Covid Test certificates are not accepted for travel from the United Kingdom.
Please refer to the “Test exemptions” section for the list of exceptions."
A bit of fishing around leads us to the statement "For the UK, any private clinic or laboratory can be used but the PCR test has to be approved by the Public Health authority e.g.
Public Health England, Wales or Scotland."
So, it doesn't matter where the swab is done, so long as the testing laboratory is accredited by the UK Government.
Which provider have you booked with?
By the way, all this information is perfectly easily available online on the Dubai Airports website, the Govt of UAE website and all the major airlines from that region (Emirates etc). |

The certificate must be a Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test. Other test certificates including antibody tests, NHS COVID Test certificates, Rapid PCR tests and home testing kits are not accepted in Dubai. Travellers must bring an official printed or digital certificate in English or Arabic to check in – SMS certificates are not accepted. PCR certificates in other languages are acceptable if they can be validated at the originating station. |

Okay, so book a test at a clinic where they do the swabs. You can get same day appointments. We travelled to Mallorca in July and the Spanish Government changed the testing requirements the night before we travelled. Mr KC had taken a clinic based PCR but it would have been more than 48hrs prior (rules when we booked said 72hrs). He had to get another PCR test done at Manchester Airport at 6am on the morning we travelled. |

That provider was mentioned on the internet. It is reasonable cheap and test centres are all around UK
We will see.

We first used Vivo Clinic in Manchester (the one taken before rules changed) and the second one at the Manchester Airport test centre. Both tests provided rapid results, well within the timescales advertised. |

I used DAM Health in Leeds on the 18/10 before flying to UAE 48 hours later, just get your timings right, I had test at 14.30 results by midnight same day to print and add to Etihad website.
It’s a fucking hassle going and returning but worth it when your pool side in October and it’s 37 degrees  |
