Good news and a Win win scenario … and Merck breathing a sigh of relief?

Maybe not so concerned now if Ivermectin trial returns positive outcomes?

Surely just more fake science.

Why would those who don't believe there is a disease or don't believe in a vaccine suddenly believe in a treatment.

We'll have the same discussions of it containing a new fm broadcasting signal. Or it's not been tested for 80 years so I'm not taking it.

Either you trust the scientific method or you trust you tube.

So this new treatment is only going to be of benefit to those who trust new medicines and so have probably already had a vaccine.

Just wait until the side effects start being reported, we will have more fear stories pushed out on you tube. Don't forget you tube non doctors get paid for selling the adverts that people have to watch before seeing their videos.

To be fair, many existing antivirals are being tested( including molnupiravir) against Covid and thankfully this seems to be really effective. Hopefully more will come on line or even better cocktails of antivirals will be even more effective against clinical Covid.

Hopefully a combination of antivirals, vaccination and greater understanding of the disease will reduce the disease burden globally.

It's more positive news for the medical treatments that we have . It may be of help too for parts of the world where vaccine distribution isn't as broad and freely available as here, plus it won't need cold storage!

At over $700 for a 5 day treatment I can't see a country that can't afford refrigeration, affording this.

Equity is an enormous problem, for sure.

True but like all things, when it’s needed the price will drop.

I wonder how the anti vax crew will view this?

Ironically some of the pro Ivermectin believers are trying to convince people this new treatment is an expensive rebranded ivermectin, which it absolutely isn’t.

That hasn't worked so well for vaccine supply - Pfizer and Moderna aren't exactly sharing.

I hope more is done to share therapeutics and vaccines
