Italy will require a covid passport to work there.

I can understand places wanting evidence of a negative test.
But doing so while allowing people that have been vaccinated but who may be positive seems problematic.

"Italy are requiring all their workers to have a covid passport by the middle of October. The pass would show that you are vaccinated, or have proof of infection, or a valid negative PCR test."
For all work or just certain jobs
Don't get me wrong, it's a bad thing all round
No one has the right to be privy to your medical information |

Lots of countries have required proof of vaccinations before granting entry long before this. Generally at your own expense. |

I'm not talking about proving you've had certain shots to travel, that's part and parcel of holidaying
But if you have to provide proof of your personal medical information to function in society (work, travel internally, access services) then that is something I cannot support
If you think you should have the right to view another's personal medical to make you feel a bit safer, then I can't think of anything good to say about you |

You're happy to divulge those details to go on holiday but they're sacred anywhere else. Seems logical.

No need to ramp up the drama. Nobody will be looking through your personal medical record

It’s an ancient and inviolable law - ‘Thou shalt not covet a look at thy neighbour’s vaccination status.’
Haven’t you even read the Bible? |

I think there's a huge difference between "Swing has xyz disease, was in hospital for ABC, suffered hij traumatic event, and here's some stuff about her parents" and vaccine: yes/no/exempt.
But if it suits the agenda to conflate very different things, you do you |

Yes, all workers in the private sector too.
You don’t have to be fully vaccinated, you can do an antigen test every 48 hours that you need to pay for yourself tho. (So it’s end up being very expensive and annoying) So it isn’t really a viable option for most so they really went ahead with a “well get vaccinated” approach |

Actually, if implemented that way it would be disgraceful - no one has a right to see if you are exempt (or have had Covid) - that data would be gold for insurance companies etc.
If done correctly, all the pass would say is "Valid".
There is no reason for the person checking to know if it's valid because you are jabbed, tested negative, are exempt, or have had Covid.
That's the way our NHS App has been designed to work. |

Many moons ago, when I worked for other people, virtually every job required me to fill in a medical history questionaire.
That's far more invasive than providing proof of a Covid vaccine.
You're making a mountain out of a molehill. |

I'm not really seeing what the drama is about covid passes. To do something to try to stop the spread of something seems sensible and I'm not sure as it is, that it's ever so invasive of one's privacy. It does force the ownership of a smart phone but then... That's kind of been coming anyway. But... I do question if they will make any difference at all to helping to stop or reduce the spread, and I also don't agree, when we have the bulk of the population vaccined that anyone who has a negative test should be excluded from anything. (which I think is the case anyway? ).
The ridiculous rhetoric that if someone is Vaxed that will somehow stop spreading this thing needs to stop though. The best way surely is to make sure everyone is testing negative. The fact that with a covid pass someone can be Vaxed but infected and still have a valid pass and still allowed to circulate is bizarre and disingenuous at best and coercive at its worst and in that circumstance a covid pass is totally ineffective at doing anything. Perhaps some of the many "test events" could have been used to prove how effective a covid pass is at reducing the spread of infections? If there is compelling and current evidence that they are effective against delta variant then let's crack on.
I personally couldn't give a stuff if someone is Vaxed or not so long as they are not infected and not passing it around to others. |

If we're to improve the wellbeing of the population and country, we have to let people lead the way by their choices and behaviour being detrimental to the success of the virus. People don't want to have lockdowns, so measures are needed that reduce the potential of infections in higher risk circunstances etc.
There won't be a perfect system that everyone likes but ee have to accept that there will be steps along the route, between full lockdown and the virus not overloading health services as well as disabling and killing many. It's inhumane to let it rip through thousands of people and to do nothing. This pass may help to contain things, whilst increasing vaccine take up, so could be a valid tool. As has been shown elsewhere |

Not just workers. Only allowed into shops, restaurants etc if you're double vaccinated. |
