"What? All 8% of them have medical reasons for not taking the vaccine?
It’s good they’re in a hospital already!
Why?"
8% is a tiny number. Do you have a break down where the 8% work? They could be back room / office / admin? You don’t know. And by the way I’m front line respiratory and am double jabbed. You seem very judgemental without knowing the facts, |

"8% of NHS staff have not yet received the vaccine.
What are they thinking?"
“My body, my choice”
“I’m unsure of it”
“I simply don’t want it”
“I can’t get it due to medical reasons”
Could be various reasons why they aren’t getting it and quite frankly, it’s none of your business. |

It's still recommended that they get vaccinated, to gain the maximum immunity protection.
A lot of NHS staff are from the BAME communities, where there's been lower take up in many areas. |

To be be honest I have had the jab and will take a booster if offered one as well but I do respect the choices of of others when they choose not to have the Jab.
It does bother me though when you see those same people not respecting other peoples space ect because they do choose not to and get nasty with those that did |

One has to worry when somebody quotes the daily mails estimates as gospel.
You should also realise the broad term ‘Frontline NHS’ is a very wide term including many non clinical roles. It would be entirely wrong to think 8% of nurses, doctors, ambulance crew etc weren’t vaccinated. I suspect that figure is tiny. |

Please bear in mind that nearly half of people employed in the NHS are not medically trained and probably not in direct contact or front line |

What about shop workers? Gym? Just because they work for the NHS doesn't automatically make them more contagious or come into contact with more people (depending on the area etc). I think shop workers are probably more exposed and could pass on more. Or even just touching a trolley in the supermarket.
I work for th3 NHS, we still have to wear masks all the time and practice social distancing where possible
I'm only single jabbed- allergic reaction to Pfizer and neither my GP or OH dept want to say which alternative I should have, walk in centres won't accept me without a letter. So I'm in no man's land! |

Not all NHS staff work in a hospital and many don't need any medical knowledge (secretaries, admin, it, etc).
As it isn't enforced and a lot of people aren't comfortable with the vaccine, I'm not overly suprised by the numbers tbh. |

Working for the NHS could be over a range of departments some of which don't see patients so some could be included in the 8%
I have always been a let people make their own choice whether they have the vaccine or not, however, I would hope the people who see patients were vaccinated if I had to get medical help |

I personally know about 30 medically educated people who left NHS and some even professions for good within last 8 months because their opinion and wishes, choices were ignored. They refused being forced to do something they are not sure.
I do respect that. I respect everyone's opinion vaxers antivaxers but each person has a choice. And it's individual choice which should not be forced.
One thing what makes me laugh is how come people who are fully vaccinated are so scared of people who are not vaccinated? Is proven that fully vaccinated can have covid again and again and again... If you are double jabbed you should trust your scientists and believe that vaccine will save you. Antivaxers should be afraid not you. but it's just my little opinion |

"i think they are going to bring in with what they have done with social care have the jab or no job ...."
So now their staff are leaving….and since many are minimum wage, they can get a job at sainstecmoreasdwait with more money and no mandatory jab. Over three-quarters of care homes are privately run. The extra money for care will go to the private sector. |

I've been front line NHS for years and don't know of one person who has left due to Covid, any form of coercion to have jab or any other reason.
One lady did leave but it was for other reasons, asking her to do a full days work, no loss to NHS or any other employer.
Think you would have to be very careful with any numbers getting thrown around.
Working for NHS, does that include everyone. Suppliers, IT, outside technical advisors, it goes on and on.
The stories will probably become more bizarre as Covid starts to become yesterdays news and yesterdays story.

I am not sure why people keep accusing others of being "scared" It just makes the debates go a different way. Lets respect peoples views without the need for provocation
For me , it isn't about being "scared" there must be lots of people out there without a vaccination that you pass in a shop. It is their choice if they want to take the chance of getting covid without the vaccine. However for someone who is treating patients and has seen the devastation in Hospitals with Covid I would hope they would be having the vaccine as they believe after what they have seen that it is needed. I appreciate we could still infect each other

I think it says something that NHS professionals are hesitant to have the vaccine considering what they’ve seen. Maybe not all vaccine hesitants are conspiracy theorists (not saying you said so I’ve seen others say in this forum) but have genuine concerns |

I don't agree that all vaccine hesitancy are theorists either, in fact I was hesitant at the beginning too and got told called out for it in the forum by others as they assumed I was a denier. I wasn't, I just wanted time to make the decision and said so
It would be interesting to see how many front line staff dealing with patients have had the vaccine though |

I don’t work in the NHS and only got my first jag last week. I only got it because the double vaccination passport is required to get into the theatre and other events.
My reasons for not getting it were more to do with the MHRA and the way in which they handle the Yellow Card system and the Government when it comes to pelvic mesh. It has taken years to get them to suspend using it despite the damage it’s done to 1000’s of women.
Not everything is about being against the vaccination but about those who approve it and manage the follow up reports of side effects. People need to make their own minds up about getting the vaccination.
Also I believe I had covid in Dec 2019. I’ve been exposed to it twice since then and still didn’t develop covid since lockdown. Maybe if they looked at the antibodies people already have we may be closer to a better vaccination and treatment.

I have spoken to medical staff who are refusing to have the vaccine. I also know others who have had it. I respect all of them regardless.
When something isn't compulsory, it is the choice of the individual which option they choose. If anyone feels that shouldn't be the case you really need to give your head a wobble. |

They probably remember colleagues forced to have Swine Flu vaccine that developed severe narcolepsy (which is still going through the courts in various countries).
Should all be about choice based on informed risk profile analysis. Clear comparable date so people can decide what is best for them and theirs. |

Why is it a good job they are in hospital already?
Are you implying that if you dont get jabbed you'll end up in Hospital? Because that is miss information. I know people before the vaccine roll out that contracted Covid and wasn't hospitalised. I know people now who has not had a jab or only received one dose and got over Covid just fine after a few days..

Not all NHS staff are medical.
There are many other jobs in the NHS and they will come from similar view points to the rest of the population.
