Canada accepts it. As does the USA. *
Accepted COVID-19 vaccines in Canada
Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2)
Moderna (mRNA-1273)
AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222)
Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (Ad26.COV2.S)
* from CDC site: This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines. This guidance can also be applied to COVID-19 vaccines that have been authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (e.g. AstraZeneca/Oxford). |

So even though the USA is not jabbing anyone with the AZ one, they DO accept it for entry if you are double vaxxed. Currently however, they just aren't letting anyone in the country from the UK unless you are an American citizen or married to one.
With Canada, borders are currently open and AZ vaccine is well accepted (and indeed many people there jabbed with it). |

All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.
- People are considered fully vaccinated:
2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
If you don’t meet these requirements, you are NOT fully vaccinated.

You don't even NEED to be vaccinated at all, to go to the USA if you are a) a US citizen or married to one.
"Individuals who are not fully vaccinated and have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 (i.e., who are considered exposed to COVID-19), should self-quarantine and NOT travel until they have met CDC criteria for discontinuing quarantine. Individuals who are fully vaccinated, or who have documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months, do not have to self-quarantine after exposure to a person with COVID-19 and can travel unless they have COVID-19 symptoms."
As for "Fully Vaccinated, you missed two things: #1, SUCH AS, and #2, the asterisk where it mentions the OTHER vaccines recognised, specifically " ASTRAZENECA"
"± This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines. Indeed... no vaccine is required.
...and the earlier mention about the FDA being slightly wayward in their approach to standards is highlighted with the suggestion, via the "* others", that while we ourselves haven't granted emergency approval for AZ, we do acknowledge it as an "approved" WHO vaccine - We don't accept it but we do really..odd really |

Given that Pfizer have a political lobbying budget in excess of $25 million, and that their vaccine is charged at $25/shot, is it any surprise that AZ is not cleared for use in the USA....

"Put your house on an Intranasal vaccine. This will break transmission chains very quickly and suppress the virus.
The Vietnamese are trialling one- so watch this space.

There were huge hopes with a spray developed by Birmingham University. It was supposed to act like those first defence cold and flu sprays. |
