How many have had covid since going to clubs ?

[Had posted this last week under 'Clubs', but got no response, so trying here instead. This is a serious and genuine question, though I appreciate that no responses on the other thread didn't necessarily mean that people didn't want to reply].

=====

Hi, I was wondering if we'd be allowed to ask how many people have fallen ill with covid - even just with mild symptoms - since the 19th of July when clubs re-opened ? Obviously if anyone has fallen ill, it might be quite difficult to 'blame' the club or those attending.

So... have you been to a club recently, and have you since fallen ill ?

Yes we've been to a club. No we haven't fallen ill. Both double jabbed, testing regularly, club has great safety protocols in place

How would you know if you caught the virus at a club?

I've been 3 times, looking forward to a 4th soon and I've had a few meetings.

No issues.

Just curious how well the 'covid firewall' is holding up.... It's obviously an 'honesty box' thing, because even though you may have had a double-vacc, and got the online proof, it still doesn't mean you can't catch covid a few hours before going to a club... and, therefore, unwittingly pass it on.

And, of course, yes, it would be difficult to be able to identify that you then caught covid at a club.

Plus, there's the scenario that some people at clubs enjoy kissing each other, and might be happy to continue doing so now that the clubs have re-opened.

But still, we'd like to think that if the adult club scene was rife with covid, then surely the case numbers would be sky-high since the 19th... and apparently they're not ??

I've been to regular night club and didn't catch covid.

Yet to go to an adult club. But we have had 2 sex meets since restrictions lifted and no covid.

Both of us are fully vaccinated. And I (female) test 3 times a week and have had covid twice.

Our son caught Covid from a nightclub of the music & dancing variety. Dates matched exactly and other than going out in the park, he'd not really been anywhere else in the relevant days prior to catch it. No, we've no concrete proof it was the nightclub, but he started with mild symptoms and tested positive exactly 5 days after the nightclub visit. He's recovered now.

Been to a swingers club once each month each time caught covid.

(not really) but just shows you can say anything on these forums and there is no way to separate truth from fiction..

hiding from cock pics.

Some venues are only allowing double vaxed people in, (and not accepting recent lateral flow tests or medical exemptions)

I guess as private venues they can do as they feel most appropriate.

For those cautious about attending clubs, maybe ones with that kind of door policy would suit them best.

Husband and I both struck down with Covid 4 days after our first visit back to a club. Not been anywhere else in the interim other than stopping at a service station on the way there and back. We are both double jabbed. Can’t be helped, it’s the bigger of the virus that you can carry it without symptoms.

Been to swinging clubs many times since Step 4, and as my second job is as an event tech also done a gig every weekend since in both indoor and outdoor venues. No symptoms here, still testing twice a week.

A friend & her husband both have it & the only place possible they reckon they got it was from someone at a club they went to week-end before last!

Both double vaccinated as well, but we already know that's no guarantee anyway. They admit now they wish they'd waited but they couldn't, their resistance gave up!! What amazed them was the fact when they contacted the club, so other attendees could be advised, the club didn't want to know, said it wasn't their job!!!

Don't ask me to name the club though as I won't say. But as well as clubs asking all the right questions upon entry maybe the question you should ask is what will they do if they're advised of any cases?

The whole issue of people mixing socially again, going to clubs of all kinds, gigs, comedy clubs, pubs, festivals, etc, it's just obvious the virus is going to get spread about, how seriously? Who really knows, we certainly don't & neither do any governments or scientists but it is bloody obvious & it can mutate leading to other & stronger strains, ask any microbiologist who knows what they're talking about. (Yes I actually do know a couple)

So people it's up to you, what's more important? A chance to party, fill your puss, dip your wick, exchange oral fluids, have a bit of fun, enjoy to the extreme or do less continue to be more careful & stay safe?

Your choice, up to you to make up your own minds really, but don't be afraid to say NO

Please note this isn't posted to frighten, I'm the last person to be a scaremonger. It's about safeguarding others, family, friends & using a bit of common sense to stay healthy & well. Yes go out, enjoy yourself but there's no need to go OTT or get too carried away.

Clubs have been open 4 weeks on Monday and the numbers are NOT going up at all. According to the scare stories we should be at 100k a day now. Its not.

Ive been to nightclubs, parties, pubs and meets and slept with about 15 blokes. Im double vaccinated and I do not wear a mask anymore. We have to learn to live with it - just like other potentially fatal diseases and infections.

For the ten days before they went to the club were they alone in their house and didn't go out ?

I'm sat at home this very moment suffering with covid. I run a pub now, what did I expect? Socialising = viral spread, it doesn't require much thought.

Yes I'm jabbed too.

Actually they were tested a day before going & negative! But point I was making is that if we're all to quick to presume it's OK to go party to remember it's still a risk. To many people are acting like things are back to the norm & overdoing it, slacking on precautions & not safeguarding enough. You've only got to watch how many walk straight into supermarkets & shops lately without using the sanitisers provided or wearing masks.

No it's not the law but there's no harm in trying to be safe & wait a bit longer is there!

This IS the new normal. It’s never going away. Accept and learn to live with it. Overdoing it ? What life. Damn right we will. You’re a long time dead so we intend to enjoy our life and live it to its full. So bored of people on here telling others how to live their life.

It's ignorant and stupid to not be taking precautions that are minimal effort, to help to rebuild our country and lives.

Sounds fun for you. But your claims numbers aren't going up isn't correct. All 3 measures clearly are going up. The only number that is still going down are the number of tests.... And perhaps that's a good thing.

You make good points. And it's a shame that we seem so very binary. There's no harm in taking sensible precautions but apparently that is difficult for some people. It's not unreasonae to think thta basic hygiene should be the starting point. The thought of it seems to cause some people coniptions.

Was everyone at the club contacted by the NHS track and trace service and told to isolate?
