So I was just wondering if vimes that last bad taste and smell when my had covid have foods they can't eat anymore.
A friends some used to love ketchup and BBQ sauce but now can't cope with the taste.
Funnily enough I also now can't stand the taste or smell of BBQ sauce anymore. |

"Can't eat one of my favourite bbq racks of ribs any more because the restaurant closed it's doors for good due to extended covid lockdowns
Does that count? "
Not what I had in mind but sure that counts. |

My favourite pizza. Don't get me wrong, I never had covid, it's just the pizza place had to change pizza chef cause the original guy went back to Italy for good. It was never the same after. |

I’ve not had it but I’ve listened to an interesting piece regarding this. During the height of the pandemic I listened to an article from an expert who explained what actually happens.
There’ll be one element/ingredient of the product which taste will change. This will change the whole overall flavour/texture. His example was, imagine a picture and change one colour to another. The whole picture looks different.
If you can find that one in ingredient that has changed for you and replace it with something else then you may be able to get somewhere close to enjoying your favourite foods and drinks again.
Coffee seemed to be a very common problem |

I lost all my taste when my mother made me wear corduroys. I thought I was on the road to recovery until I took a liking to socks under sandals (aka 'scandals'), which was a huge blow.
On the up side, I nearly vomited when I accidentally caught sight of Bono on the telly last month, so I'm confident I'm improving. |

Really interesting post. I've noticed that since having covid early last year when I lost my sense of taste and smell, I thought they'd come back reasonably well. However I used to enjoy tomato based sauces with pasta etc and now find that they taste as bitter as hell. Ketchup is ok but not as I remember it. Weird hey? |
