Who thinks it's time to stop all Virus forums on fab now altogether? And ask admin to put a stop to them?

I am not judging anybody or their views here! So I just want a simple yes or no please.

No!

If we open the borders it will allow virus threads to infect other forums and as we know some people aren’t vaccinated so are virus thread intolerant.

I know that others disagree, but I fear that at best we are only at covid half time yet. And even if infection rates dropped drastically tomorrow, full recovery for society will take a very long time.

So IMHO discussion of virus related matters is going to continue through next year at least, and as others have stated, better we keep these threads safely walled away from the vulnerable who could incur life changing consequences if they were inadvertently exposed to such biohazardous materials...

Yes keep this forum going so that fab users can choose whether or not they wish to read/contribute, but away from other forums

I think that we are all being requested to keep any personal disagreements and arguments out of it. The virus threads, like politics, can stir emotional responses, but are better for everyone if we can keep them informative/factual/funny/relevant/whatever. We may stand on our individual soapboxes, but preferably avoid any use of insults, shaming or hatred.

The virus forum stops Covid topics infecting the rest of the forum. So I think it should stay. If people don't want to interact in this section, they can simply ignore it.

We don't know what the winter will bring yet regarding the virus, flu and possible restrictions.

We should keep the virus forum until at least next spring.

I like the fact it is contained in its own little covid bubble....

Means I don't have to look if I don't want to. Take that away and it will spill out all over!

I also agree that they can be a good source of debate / entertainment when I'm in the mood, although I rarely comment here.

It's not over yet though. Not saying we should fixate on it but it isn't over. USA for example could be going back into lockdown. Australia (or parts of) already has.

I rarely post in the virus section but think it needs to stay, to keep all Covid debate in one place.

Fab forum is for chat a range of things and Covid is very relevant. There's lots of things I am not interested in... I just don't get involved.

Keep it open, confined to one place.

Nice and easy to avoid or nice and easy to find.

Seeing how heated the threads can be, no need to have that all over the other forums, which will happen if this one's closed.

I suspect it's why the Virus forum was opened in the first place, to quarantine us all.

I feel that overall it has helped. Yes there have been arguments, but there has also been a lot of good information at times. And I seem to remember that when the first deaths were occurring, and people here were losing loved ones, it was a place to get some support, or just to let out the emotion when it got too much.

If the forum and the posts on it have helped even just one person get through, who might not have been able to without it, then IMHO it has been worthwhile. Polly

As long as you take all advice and comment as entertaining and not factual you'll be fine.

Not just FAB, any social media contact with total strangers should be taken with a pinch of salt.

There are loads of places to get best advice.

For example.

Health = Doctor

Water dripping through ceiling = plumber

House on fire = Fire Service.

Think social media for a laugh, brilliant. For advice Nooo.

On balance I think the Virus forum has helped.

There's a lot of very knowledgeable people posting information that's very helpful.

Yes, there's the naysayers, they appear on every forum on any subject.

Overall, it's very informative and on balance i think achieved its aim.

I do wish the obvious miss-information and blatant untruths could be silenced, they're dangerous. On the flipside, they're easily disproved and I'm (personally) against heavy handed censorship.

I say keep it. At least for the foreseeable future. It's mot over yet and there's still a way to go.

Most people have not seen what was removed.

Obvious conspiracy rubbish has always been removed no matter what people think of censorship, but shouting people down for questioning anything that is going on with the pandemic is not helping anyone

People are allowed to have concerns

I think the section should stay, but move it below all the swinging message boards out of the way.

When there were restrictions and lockdowns it was ok, now just move it down.
