"So 60 k allowed in to final at wembley, which is 1 in 3 seats empty. Ffs, at that rate, you may aswell go the whole lot, and let it be a full house. How can any distance be in place anyway"
Because we are working towards no distancing. |

"Full stadium is something absolutely normal as you can see in Budapest, Kopenhagen or Bucharest...
Doesn't make it right or the sensible thing to do."
So having 2 folk behind and 2 in front of you, but an empty seat next yo you is gona make such a huge difference |

No one gives a flaying fuck about social distancing anymore when it comes to sport / making money.
look at the cricket over the last few days look at the tennis look at the crowds for the superbikes at Donnington Park,
yet we cannot meet more than 6 people inside still as a family and all the bars and pubs have stupid rules about signing in, staying apart and tale service.
The government has never taken any notice of science just made it up they went along and they are doing it again.
Football threatened to take the games away from Wembley so Boris caved in and allowed loads of officials and fans in of course he did; the whole thing has been a fiasco from start to finish what is the point of having experts if you dont listen to them, but then of course money talks |

I think you will find horse racing a very different sport to compare..It is outdoors and it is therefore much easier to social distance..Racecourses appear to be aware of the responsibilities regarding the virus. It has continued behind closed doors for a long time and is gradually introducing crowds.. |

I think youd probably find that donington park is also a massive outdoor venue, spread over a bigger area than a race course, but, silly me, i forgot, it doesnt bring in as much money as horse cruelty |

It's 8 days before restrictions are potentially dropped and 1 in 3 seats empty or 2 in 3 seats empty your are not sitting close to many additional people. Supporters will only be close to a handful of people (outdoors) they won't be close to the entire 60,000

I’m beginning to think it’s not about a virus anymore, more about control, the rich and famous can do what they want, G7, Ascot, Wimbledon, but we’re not allowed to see our children at a school sports day, fuming !!! |

It's not about how many people stand next to you, the restrictions are to do with logistics. You get allocated a time that you get into the stadium, ours for the last game was 2 1/2 hours before kick off. They then check your ticket which is digital, test results etc ( you need to have already entered your code from the lateral flow test in an app before) at a pre check point, before you are allowed upto the turnstiles. So the restricted attendances were meant to allow for the extra time needed to do this. I got a ticket for Wednesday be interesting to see what the time slots are this time to get checked in. |

You are aware these events are ore planned and being used to decide what the country can do again..
You wont get that if you free up ever event will you?
beginning to wonder why people dont read and research anymore |

But surely outside events would be the better ones to start with, and work towards indoor/stadium situations, or is that logic not the right way round. Or do they just want an excuse for things to go tits up agsin |

"Didn't 2000 scots return home and test positive for covid, after their game with England. "
The vast majority of the fans were not in the stadium. The fact that according to W.H.O Scotland has the worst infection rate in Europe I don’t think it was a controlled event at Wembley that was the problem.
Of course comparing infection numbers is pointless when you have one country testing 15.5 per 1000 of its population (U.K.) and you get other countries testing 3.5 per 1000 (France) 3.0 (Italy)
1.8 (Spain) or 1.2 (Germany). |

No exactly. Controlled event or not. The problem is and was is that thousands...no hundreds of thousands of people have been mixing, partying and ignoring the rules and the infection rate is now rising exponentially with rises in hospitalizations and a slow rise in deaths. Three months down the line with total relaxations we will be back to 50000 cases a day, the NHS overwhelm with sick people....maybe not critical cases but sick people who need treatment, and 100 plus deaths per day. |
