"AstraZenaca said a couple of days ago that a booster more than 6 months after the 2nd would return immunity to it's peak.
Cal"
Would that be the same for people that had the Phizer?
my Understanding was the that they were hoping the novavax would be a booster. |

I know that they're doing a study on mixing vaccines for boosters.
Last I looked Novavax had some delays due to manufacturing issues, which is why it hasn't sought approval yet (but I haven't looked in awhile) |

There's some good research underway, including the booster, as well as possible mixing of the specific vaccines. The evidence is looking positive and the NHS is preparing for the autumn rollout.
Side effects may be different from a 3rd shot. |

What's the criteria for been at the top of the list please? I had both vaccines very early on, because of my job, are they not doing the elderly first like they did with the initial vaccination

"wow..you guys still do not want to question any of this do you? "
Why? Immunity wanes. The disease has changed. Scientists are looking into it.
And some of us are actually looking into it regularly, and this is all in line with the evidence as it's coming out. |

I honestly don't know, I was just aware of the A.Z. statement. I've not seen anything from other manufacturers as yet.

I wonder if at some point there will be a new rating for example "super vaxxed"
Meaning you have had 2 shots of the Astra Oxford, 1 shot of the Phizer and 1 shot of moderna vax as 6 months plus boosters.
Whilst my post is slightly tongue in cheek the lastest trial data has showed have 1 jab of Oxford and 1 jab of phizer had produced excellent results.

My understanding is that the priority for the flu jab is the same as previous years. The priority for any booster will be similar to the current vaccine rollout with exception of health care workers (excluding care home workers who will still be in group 1) will now be group 5. I heard a member of sage saying this on the radio yesterday but I don't think its been decided yet. |

Thats why I asked because I did look it up and The information I found said the no-one in the UK other than people on trials had had more than 2 vaccines and I asked a few people who are vaccinators and no one had ever heard of anyone having more than 2 so I was just curious because there doesn't seem to be any information about this. |

There will always be a need for updates to the jab either to
Address more varients.
Improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
Improved safety (reduced side effects)
Or as has been said here, some with lower immune systems will need a greater frequency of jabs.
But there will also be a decision taken at some point to limit the vacinne to particular groups in coming years, similar to other vacinnes. |

"It looks like this will be a yearly ritual, much like the seasonal flu jab. Covid belongs to the family of flu after all. "
While style agree with your 1st point it doesn't actually belong in the flute family at all. |

Nah, I reckon it's the brass family, sort of a cross between a cornett and a euphonium. |

Influenza and coronaviruses have a single strand of RNA as their genome, but that is where the similarity ends. The sars-cov-2 virus has a proof-reading system so mutations are less than flu. |
