The huge majority of news networks are owned by the same few corporations, heavily controlled, read from scripts, there to push the narrative, lies and propaganda...
CNN
Fox
BBC
MSNBC
Channel 4
Itv
Sky news
.
.
But well done Sky News Australia, one of the only news channels that have a mind of their own and actually question the narrative and corruption.

erm.. no. Quite the opposite is true. No-one here is paying a blind piece of attention to the UK 'Government'. They can't run a bath or even lie straight in bed. Proven liars and corrupt. Mr Murdoch is doing his best.. But no different.... Please be careful who you take as 'fact' or 'fiction'. There's a lot of 'don't look here, look there going on'. For instance: Lillibet. May one politely and respectfully enquire if that to which you refer was on fox news? Very best to you and yours. J |

Good news for that region.
Just as a matter of interest....are you or have you been constantly bombarded with TV news, advertising and radio scaremongering? In god's country (N.Ireland) you're never far away from a snippet of fear porn about viruses, mutations, mind control about masks and human separation etc....has the local media gone back to the old normal? |

Yes liberal radio and tv yet the people said enough. It was put up for a referendum and passed. Left and right had enough. |

What a lot of people on here don't realise is there is a massive difference between government scientists and regular qualified scientists.
They will follow and obey government scientists and dismiss any qualified scientist who goes against the narrative.
A government scientist is primarily all about politics and government agendas, science comes a distant second. |

It just seems like a different agenda there. We have the power to enact change. It's not fair to UK people to have the same. I see arguments on the forums every day over data. Yet here we are with no draconic measures in place with the same situation. |

Dear OP,
I am not here for an argument. It's ok to 'agree to disagree'. I genuinely and sincerely wish you and yours nothing but the best.
If only the World had collaborated and all reached out, responded in the same way huh? As it affects all humans and everyones way of life, regardless of flag, political persuasion, colour or creed. Alas. I wish wish that the human race had actually 'united' for once with care, empathy and compassion for our fellow humans. Missed opportunity. Squabbling about a face covering - who cares - help each other, respect each other, become a human race, not a number of ugly flags... G'nite y'all, lots of love from me to anyone reading xx |

When you look into the backgrounds and who's pulling the strings of Hancock, Whitty, Valance, Ferguson, the corruptions become very clear. |

"Boris has to go see the queen every wednesday , I'm certain he loves getting his arse kicked "
Now you know why 2A I support. People speak government has to listen. I get it's a hard concept to grasp. To me it's a choice I like to keep . Government cannot fear a populace without the populace having the same balance. Tragic as it is sometimes the alternative in my opinion is worse. Just my personal point if view I do not need backlash from it. I tried to explain it just falls on deaf ears. I ok with that my choice my right my opinion. |

Yes ppl everywhere have a choice...but tbh anyone in there right mind would know that that those actions taken that day were criminal to say the least...plus is it ok to shoot unarmed citizens.
I understand that this was not of the masses doing,i get that...it was a tragedy that shouldnt have happened..just an example thats all.

Did they used guns on the raid on the capital. No they they did not. Where politicians put on notice yes they were did it enact change regardless of Trump yes it did. According to the vote count Biden won Pennsylvania by a large margin. Yet people voted for a change in dictatorship. Ask yourself why that happened. Fear of the people or politics as normal. Nope how nutty Is it that the UK has a higher vaccination rate than us yet we are open and you might get another lockdown. Wierd at best. Trust the science yet you are in denial. Demographics not a excuse you still have the rates. Compared to us the data is there for you to see. |

Give it a month or so...this delta variant will kick off over there, thats the reason for the upsurge in positive cases....btw it is mainly non vaccinated or single dose folk who are testing positive and being admitted to hospital.
So stop with the nonsense and realise this pandemic comes in waves...hopefully this one will be smaller than any previous ones....but yes...we are in a better place vaccinated ways....just dont think cause certain areas in your country are dropping restrictions things will be the way they were pre covid....life goes on yes,im fine with doing my part..i trust the data and the experts...we will have a great summer here in N.Ireland |

"Great news, I'm sure covid will listen if we vote for it to fuck off.
And yet covid got the message too. Trust the science. We did rates down and people back to normal. Not specifically hard to understand. It works for us. We voted not to be afraid of a virus It does not apply to everyone in other countries. Just giving our perspective.
Nut job???
Nope how nutty Is it that the UK has a higher vaccination rate than us yet we are open and you might get another lockdown. Wierd at best. Trust the science yet you are in denial. Demographics not a excuse you still have the rates. Compared to us the data is there for you to see.
Give it a month or so...this delta variant will kick off over there, thats the reason for the upsurge in positive cases....btw it is mainly non vaccinated or single dose folk who are testing positive and being admitted to hospital.
So stop with the nonsense and realise this pandemic comes in waves...hopefully this one will be smaller than any previous ones....but yes...we are in a better place vaccinated ways....just dont think cause certain areas in your country are dropping restrictions things will be the way they were pre covid....life goes on yes,im fine with doing my part..i trust the data and the experts...we will have a great summer here in N.Ireland doubtful it will. Just like the past variants. Yet did people vote to not lockdown? The results say otherwise. Was florida wrong ? Nope. We will have the freedoms we dictate not the government this summer and throughout the different variants. Otherwise the vote would have been denied by the people.

This is the difference between us and the US. You lot still think you stand for freedom. We know we don't. You still think rich people will save you. While we have been under a class system since before you murdered the previous occupants of that land you stole. You still think you are special while the rest of the world just sees you as the schoolyard bully. |

How so we not allowing government control over the aspects of our everyday living. Hence the vote giving powers to 1 person. That is by definition a dictatorship. That is where we differ. You trust we do not. Freedom vs Dictatorship. Simple |

Just trying to give personal insight. We enjoy living without the threat of government control. Person choice came into play and the majority agreed. It may not apply there we have different values. I want normalcy over chaos so far no chaos just people which in my heart matters most decided everyday living virus or not. |

This is absolutely brilliant. Nice to see this kind of people power.
If this were to happen in the UK, I think the Covid fear is far too strong, people brainwashed by 16 months of scaremongering would probably vote to keep these crazy restrictions in place.
Plus we have the luxury of furlough, I’ve no doubt lots of people are loving that life, maybe lockdown suits them?
I also find it funny, from reading the other comments, how people seem to think that by voting against restrictions you are voting for a ‘let it rip’ approach... not the case at all. If you wanna stay in, if you don’t feel safe, then feel free to stay in. Let the rest of us get on with living life.

Haha! Yep. As soon as they take that away then maybe the fear of not being able to feed yourself, without work, might trump the Covid fear. |

Maybe they should stop paying furlough then? Just a suggestion but I’ve got a funny feeling it might work. |

When we have vaccinated everyone then give the spare to the poor countries, every jab we give away until then means someone here could die, we have helped pay for the development of them, we have every right to do our own population first. |

Freedom isnt dictated, its a reward for living in a peaceful society
Peaceful because the sacrifice of others against tyranny.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
When the government fears the people, other people also fear those people, fear and anarchy reigns. Look at Mexico. |

What I see is people framing this through their cultural reference points. I mean, I do it too. The American framing makes no sense to me. Nor does the British. I recognise that mine probably makes no sense to many outside my cultural milieu (and frankly I don't talk about it on Fab, there's really no point).
All have good and bad points, appropriate and inappropriate applications. |

"What I see is people framing this through their cultural reference points. I mean, I do it too. The American framing makes no sense to me. Nor does the British. I recognise that mine probably makes no sense to many outside my cultural milieu (and frankly I don't talk about it on Fab, there's really no point).
All have good and bad points, appropriate and inappropriate applications. and I suppose your Australian ones lead the beacon light to all that's good and worthy in the world ? Am I right ?
I'm pretty sure I explicitly didn't say that.
"All have good and bad points, appropriate and inappropriate applications."I think you explicitly sit on the fence
I'm trying to be fair and balanced
Everyone has bias towards what they know. So they argue that.
And when it's cultural, people outside that look at your argument and go people look at your stance and think I can't be arsed
Fair enough. But, this is how I see it. The US has a strong anti tyranny people against the overreach of the government cultural story. The UK has spoken about Blitz spirit.
I identify with neither but understand where they come from. ohhhh there lies a hidden thought process about 70 years out of date , do we still talk about transportation too ?
I'm talking about the way in which some have framed the pandemic. Not an event in history.
Colonial cringe is a bit out of fashion these days Yeah, most of my relatives were transported. It's a fact.
It's not an attack. Americans see things through lens A, Brits through lens B, Australians C. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong. I understand the world through my lens, you through yours I have ancestral relatives who were transported through the criminal justice system , I often think there descendants are reeping the rewards but why so so many Aussies come live in little old England befounds me "

Actually I do find it slightly odd that anybody voluntarily comes to this godforsaken island with its crappy weather, over-boiled cabbage, corrupt government, homophobia and transphobia, overblown idea of its own importance in the world, and often pride in its own ignorance.
On the other hand I suppose the weather doesn't often try to kill you outright, the spiders aren't bigger than your own head, we do have decent beer and cheese, there are significantly less handguns in circulation than there are citizens, and we do have a decent health system even though the aforementioned government are trying to give it away to their mates. |

We take a isolationism approach. People in other countries loses their minds. We take a stance as a superpower again people lose ftheir minds the schoolyard bully. We take a different approach on things that the masses want not government internally for our rights and freedoms. Your wrong be a world role model. Rights privelages and freedom well I choose mine. The isolationism policy was the best because apparently we wrong at everything else. No global influence just us taking care of each other. |
