Was it awesome? The falls I mean.
In our "big plan" we're heading to New York next summer as my youngest daughter is meeting with friends (pleasantville) and I always look for waterfalls so Niagra falls is on the to do list
(The big plan, has changed obviously because of the pandemic, we should of been there last year ) |

"USA has 1,819 deaths per million of population.
Canada has 666 deaths per million.
For comparison, the UK has 1,873 per million.
Sources: Worldometer "
Right we have 340 million UK 60 million. Don't you think that life should go on with those statistics? To each is own we doing fantastic with our rates and everyday normalcy. It's what each country decides what is best for their population. Americans always have been defiant in adversity. It's who we are. Just because it works with us does not mean it works there |

The populations of the country are irrelevant here because the data has been expressed as deaths per million of population. The numbers are directly comparable for this reason. |

And ? Like I said since when did you know any american completely trusting our government? We do not it's a fact life goes on this is another fact. You shelter in place or you live pretty much everyone from what I seen wearing no masks thousands of people living the best that they can. No government mandate. Almost, as population density also plays a part.
Basically, its really hard comparing one place to another. |

Someone asked how the USA compared to Canada for deaths, I put the rate per million for both countries, plus the UK for comparison. That's it. |

So why do we have to be compared statistic wise? Is it government doing thier jobs ? Population counts body bag counts and density ? Sorry I choose to try and have normalcy over other scientific models that have been proven wrong here. |

Because sometime asked?
You compared the Canadian side to the US side. Its only fair that people might be interested to know how badly both have got hit and it seems the US had been hit much worse than Canada.
So maybe the fact they haven't been out and about so much is saving the lives of their people?
I'm not quite sure how the scientific policy had been proven wrong, when it hadn't been taken seriously in the US.
If it had, you may have had much less deaths. |

If you do the mathematical equation according to science if the UK had the same amount of people even with lockdowns effectiveness what would be the outcome ? Less or more grim results?

Do you understand that the data I posted at the top shows the UK to be the least successful in terms of the death rate, yes? The USA is close to us. Canada is way behind both the UK and the USA. That's it. Someone asked for the data, I posted the data. Why the data is like that, we can speculate but we cannot be certain. We can ask "what if" a lot, but the facts are that the mini Covid league table has the UK at the top (1,873 per million), the USA in the middle (1,819 per million) and Canada at the bottom (666 per million). |

I do understand but after seeing thousands of people enjoying life after over a year of trusting the science when they are told to do so it is remarkable don't you think ? |

I live in the currently worst affected town in the UK. The areas with Covid rates above 1000 per 100,000 people are the areas where people have been least able to follow the science and the rules. They cannot afford to take two weeks unpaid off work, they cannot stay isolated from Grandparents because they live in overcrowded multigenerational households and a multitude of other social deprivations. To suggest people in those areas just throw caution to the wind and cease ANY attempt to mitigate the virus would be like setting a bomb off. |

The USA has a death rate comparable to the UK. I don't think either country can claim the high ground. |

We are a little more casual about death. We have more natural disasters more public unrest more deadly animals. We have different values I am under a tornado watch cooking on the grill. It's our optimistic attitude that makes a difference. |

We're not out of it yet, so if other countries need to take steps to manage issues and their recovery, we can only wish them well. The current US President has achieved so much, alongside millions of the people who have given much.
But it's not over yet. We can be grateful for the fortune that we have and wish the best for others |

Presidents come and go they are not monarchs. One created the vaccine under his watch the other takes credit for the distribution. 4 years the gone |
