Hi all
Myself and K recently completed the update to the main NHS App on our android phones and there's a new section on the main page now showing covid vaccine status and our full covid vaccine details, batch no etc.
We were wondering if this is the same for other app users on android and apple?
Note this is the Main NHS App that the govetment will say will act ss vaccine proof. Not to be confused with the NHS Covid Track and Trace App which is totally separate.
In google play store its called "NHS App" the track and trace app is called "NHS Covid19"
The main page displays your full name, dob and nhs number below that is the check my covid vaccine status where you can bring up you vaccine details.
There's also a share you vaccine status section that lets you decide if you want to share it with what looks like a new data base?
That section says the following with an I agree button at the end
Agree to share your NHS login information
To continue, you need to agree to share your NHS login information with 'NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Status'. This service is provided by the Department of Health and Social Care.
'NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Status' will use your:
NHS number
date of birth
last name
identity level
email address
mobile phone number
first names

"Thanks for that. New users beware : they say it takes up to 7 days - or maybe more - to validate your id."
Downloaded and installed the app yesterday. Took less than an 30 minutes to complete the whole process. |

I've had it for a month or so and my final dose details were shown in just over a day.
I'm getting the same prompts from the main screen, as OP reports, which allows for the sharing for travel etc.
It covers vaccine type, batch numbers, dates, etc for each dose. |

"I've just registered for the app (I downloaded it last week but it wasn't 'active' yet).
Registered today. Info is all on there including my 2nd vaccination yesterday"
My 2nd dose appeared on it, a day after getting it too. Wonderful |

OP.
I've concerns about the effectiveness of this APP, as my first attempt about 9 months ago meant difficulties in logging online. I wasn't the only one to experience technical issues then, and as reviews show, it hasn't improved yet. The NHS knew at the time it wasn't compatible with every type of phone.
As for the comments about being able to book GP appointments etc, my local GP Surgery allows me to do so on their system, plus allows me to reorder monthly prescriptions, source Test results. I can also book Video GP appointments.
Thus, I'll reserve use of the NHS APP until the technical gremlins have been sorted out! |

You have to be absolutely crazy to sign up to this nonsense.
Any criminal skimming this info from your card or your phone will know where you are at any time of the day.
When I last looked government or civil servants were not known for being titans of Internet cyber security. |

I agree.
I've been vaccinated and am not signed up to the app.
Hooray for the jab |

The NHS app showing your vaccine status is completely separate to the Track and Trace app.
I have the regular NHS app but not the Track and Trace. Happy to fill things in at venues but I don't want to use the Track and Trace app. |

Oh I know.
But in my case, I have no way to have my vaccine documented under this system yet.
Imagine - I'm getting vaccinated for reasons other than going on holiday. I think it has intrinsic merit. The horrors |

Do you mean because the vaccine you had was as part of a study? Maybe when the study is finished they can let you know if you were vaccine or control group. |

Yes, I'm part of a study.
Both vaccine and control are real vaccines (Valneva and Oxford respectively).
I can find out - in May or June of next year.
In terms of vaccine passport, I have "we'll figure something out if you need it".
I actually don't give a shit right now. I wanted the jab and I wanted to help. |
