Both had both jabs. AZ. Minimal side effects.

Extended family member had jab (unknown which one, as not in regular contact*) but have heard he is in hospital with GBS.

* (Haven't met him, only found out he existed a week ago. Very extended family we did not know existed - They have been around 70 years apparently ! It's a complicated story, because they didn't know we existed either!)

Because surgeries are asked to give ample opportunity for everyone eligible to receive the vaccine, that is why.

Because the idea is to encourage as many people as possible, and people do change their minds, perhaps after doing further research etc. Just politely say no, or ignore the messages/emails. It's hardly a huge faff to end a brief phone call or ignore a message if that's your preference.

Yes we've had both.

We respect it's a personal choice.

We will never knowingly meet with people who haven't for two reasons

1. Their outlook on life is incompatible with ours.

2. It's fine by us if they want to play Russian roulette with their life but they'll not be playing it with ours. The vaccine may or may not prevent us getting sick due to them continuing to spread the virus.

Hubby has had his and he was bed bound for a week and said its the worst he's felt ever, our son had his and has had covid and he said he would rather have had covid again instead of the side effects of the jab, both had AZ, I need to book mine but reluctant to have it due to allergies but I'm sick of ppl nagging me and causing arguments as I'm the only one who hasn't had it yet even tho I was only offered it 2 weeks ago

you could saying taking the jab is also like playing Russian roulette as the jabs are still classed as experimental and covid has such a high survival rate why if your fit and healthy would you take it

My view is if 2 unvaccinated people want to meet up or 1 unvaccinated with someone who has had the jab, then the ones who aren't vaccinated should take a test.

I've been offered it 4 times, turned it down ~ for now.

Covid isn't going away any time soon I reckon. It's not a matter of "if" you're going to get it, it's a matter of "when".

Your risks of blood clots are about 8 times higher from covid than they are from the vaccine, in addition to all the other risks.

Just some things to think about it.

I've had both and would happily take a 3rd booster.

Few points i would like to make.

Those that are refusing to have the vaccine what percentage have had a flu jab in the past. If so then why.

And what really annoys me is those who take the 1st vaccine then refuse the 2nd. Thats another day someone who wants it didn't really have to wait. It's actually completely selfishness to even do that.

Absolutely scandalous.

Personally i got both my jabs for myself only as i value my health. Granted yes it will also protect other to a degree but as for having it to go on holiday is an insult to those who have health conditions and require it to actually prolong thier lives.

I'm in remission for a cancer and i actually feel quite insulated.

"So who has had the jab and who hasnt and wont no judgement please just incase u think iam against having the jab I have had both of mine

Why is mine or anyone else’s medical status for that matter a public matter? Nobody knows whether I have or haven’t and it will forever remain that way

well it is if you are spreading the virus, but anyway i was just interested as to why people havent had it

If he is spreading the virus, its only to people who don't want the vaccine,so people who've had the vaccine should be fine...shouldn't they?"

What about people who have illnesses that prevent them having the vaccine? They don't have the choice, he's also potentially spreading it to them.

"Been offered it 4 times , the last call I got from my doctors I asked why they keep ringing offering it to me , when I’ve said from day one I don’t want it . She couldn’t answer me , it’s getting nearly as bad as cold fucking callers

Any reason you’re against it mate ( not here to knock you)

Don’t need it , simple as that. my wife works iat sainsburys my daughter is a teacher she’s still at home, we have all worked through this , not one of us have been ill , which I find weird with a so called pandemic , don’t know any one who’s been ill or died from it , just think it’s been blown out of all proportion, I agree that there are people who have died, just think the numbers aren’t true .

"

Well I do know people who have had Covid, I know people in the NHS and Care Sector who have had to deal with Covid and I know 2 people who died of Covid. Some people are lucky in that it hasn’t meant they have lost family & friends. Others like us, less so.

In reference to the ‘numbers’, all you have to do is look at excess deaths. Britain measures deaths on a rolling 5 year basis to get the average mortality rate. This is normally around 650,000 (approx), Since March 2020, 150,000 additional deaths have occured - referred to as Excess deaths. So roughly 20-25% increase in death. In a normal 5 year period, the fluctuation is 1-2% pervyear. So something big changed this year. Typically Flu will kill 15,000 per year and Flu has been well down due to lockdown, so the hypothesis is that Covid has caused the dramatic increase in deaths.

Just believing the numbers are ‘wrong’, or doubting them only shows an inability to look at simple facts and understand the basics. Covid kills.

The other side of this is that since the vaccines have been provided, the death rate has dropped dramatically. So the vaccines work & they save peoples lives.

I don’t really see why people don’t have a vaccine now. They are way safer than having Covid. The odds of major side effects from Covid (death, blood clots, etc) is way higher than from the Vaccine. So if people are holding back because they think it is dangerous, just remember that Covid itself is way more dangerous.

I was apprehensive with the prospect of reactions, particularly as I lost my wife to covid and I was worried that if anything happened as a result of me getting the jab that my sons would be left to fend for themselves but they both said I should get it and to my relief I was gives the Pfizer jab. That was about 6 weeks ago. Had a sore arm and a headache for a few days but otherwise fine.

. Or is it just that those who have had it and would have ended up seriously ill or dying already have??? I’m not knocking the vaccine if people want it let them have it. I for one do not believe the numbers they are very very very over inflated. I have decided not to have have the vaccine until it has been in circulation for at least 15 months as there are far to many little things come from vaccine use that are now having to be investigated. 128k covid deaths ( uk official government figure ) over 15 months is not that high.

so my problem with a figure like that is a massive % of it are all related to underlying health conditions and many of which ( and is very unfortunate) would have died with in 12 months. Interesting that deaths from the normal suspects such as flu and pneumonia and so on is down because covid had been put in the death certificate.

One, that wasn't me.

Two, when I want to find out I go directly to the source, in this case the ONS. I understand that there are professional and criminal implications for falsification of medical records like people claim is so widespread.

I don't rely on the media at all.

I know the difference between credible sources and not, so when I do my research (based on professional research standards and postgraduate training in critical thinking), I don't come out with nonsense.

"Yes we've had both.

This I view it the same as practicing safe sex to be honest. you could saying taking the jab is also like playing Russian roulette as the jabs are still classed as experimental and covid has such a high survival rate why if your fit and healthy would you take it

Except the vaccines have been tested and passed all relevant safety checks and death isn't the only negative outcome from covid. "

the vaccines are still classed as experimental and no one knows the long time effects

I’m SEVERELY needlephobic which my GP’s are fully aware of and have experienced for their own eyes when attempting to give me an injection. My GP’s and vaccine officials have recommended I don’t get the vaccine until an oral vaccine is approved (apparently currently in testing process). I’m a frontline worker and have worked all the way through this pandemic, we’re tested twice per week and has been negative every time, although I think I may have had it in November 2019, a lot of people had really bad coughs etc before C19 was even thought of. I personally don’t know of anyone who’s had it or died from it but feel for the families of those who have.

There are many reasons to explain excess deaths not just covid first of all the spike in deaths because the nhs sent the elderly back to care homes and rehab centres untested when the needed hospital treatment also we had excess people dying at home because of the mantra stay away from hospital don’t contact your go etc also lockdowns kill people . We have higher death rates in the last 30 years with a lower population and younger population. We can’t even trust the covid death figures because of the way they are recorded

I’ve had my first jab. (Moderna)

I did have reservations about it as there’s no long term safety data. If I’d been of child bearing age, I may have made a different choice.

Wife had early as she was on the ECV list and had a spell in hospital when she caught Covid.

I've had my first AZ dose and just had a sore arm for an hour or so.

It was a very easy decision having seen how ill the wife had been and having lost someone to Covid. He was a little overweight and in his 50s and it got him.

Deaths are 20%+ higher than in a normal year - its not that high! This is more people dead than we have in the Army & Navy combined. Think about it, it is a lot of dead people. People that did not need to die so my problem with a figure like that is a massive % of it are all related to underlying health conditions and many of which ( and is very unfortunate) would have died with in 12 months. Interesting that deaths from the normal suspects such as flu and pneumonia and so on is down because covid had been put in the death certificate.

I've seen zero credible evidence for that. really and yet you quote a 20% increase in death rate over a 15 month period based on the rolling 5 year average. With that information I would have thought you would have also found the rest ( or did you just reads headline and not do research ) "

So what is your point? Deaths have increased by 20%+ over a normal year. That is a fact. Do these people not matter to you, does another 12 months of their lives not count? So what research have you done?

Why is mine or anyone else’s medical status for that matter a public matter? Nobody knows whether I have or haven’t and it will forever remain that way

well it is if you are spreading the virus, but anyway i was just interested as to why people havent had it

If he is spreading the virus, its only to people who don't want the vaccine,so people who've had the vaccine should be fine...shouldn't they?

Are you serious. Have you watched the updates on the vaccine. Who told you the once somebody has had the vaccine they are 100 per cent protected and can't contract covid.

So why get something pumped in to your body that you dont know too much about if it doesnt protect you....that's the point I was stating, hence the "shouldn't they" sentence.

Had multiple family members get covid. One to the point of being hospitalised from it, Had freinds lose family members to it and have a family member who worked on a covid ward who saw people die from it.

Will it effect everyone the same, bo obviously not but its n worth not taking it in our opinion.

Some of the people on here think they're special, know better or it's all a hoax or whatever but fact is, a virus dosent care what you think or how you feel about vaccines.

Fair comment. I actually think there is something not right about this who pandemic. Especially it’s origins. "

Exactly - for me, I feel like a lot of things aren't quite right.

So for that reason, I'm out!

Had multiple family members get covid. One to the point of being hospitalised from it, Had freinds lose family members to it and have a family member who worked on a covid ward who saw people die from it.

Some of the people on here think they're special, know better or it's all a hoax or whatever but fact is, a virus dosent care what you think or how you feel about vaccines.

SAGE doesn't decide who receives the vaccines, that's the JCVI.

Most members of SAGE are scientists, not medical doctors. They have PhDs but not MMBS or equivalent. Ditto the JCVI.

Medical research is predominantly done by people who hold scientific qualifications in very specialised areas relating to medicine, eg virology, epidemiology, pharmacology.

So if people are holding back because they think it is dangerous, just remember that Covid itself is way more dangerous.

I'm the same,I'm not against getting it,in time I will no doubt, but not at the moment with how quick it's been released.

You could have caught covid by then!

That's a chance I'll take,I know I've got a 99% chance of survival.

Good luck!

Why the animosity?...I've no problem with anyone getting the vaccine,I've just got my own reasons for not wanting it.

Also a lot of doctors and scientists state that if you've hot no underlying health issues and youre healthy, then you have a 99% chance of survival.....not my analysis, but that of the experts. "

What you're conveniently ignoring is that the outcome from catching Covid isnt simply death or survival. Long Covid is a "thing". A close friend of mine, late 50s, no underlying conditions ended up in ICU and now, 5 months later is completely f&cked. Permanent lung damage and a heart condition are what Covid has gifted him. There are tens of thousands with long covid and theyre not just those people who are elderly, frail or had underlying conditions in the first place.

What asolute tosh. You have no idea whatsoever about SAGE or the sub committees or the qualifications and expertise of those who sit on these panels. You clearly have no idea either about how the vaccination priorities were drawn either. It's your right to refuse the vaccine but trying to justify that decision with made up twaddle is neither big nor clever.

I was talking to a good friend of mine the other day, who has been a Sister on a Covid ward for several months (hence I haven't seen her). What she's been through is utterly horrific and she now seems to be suffering from PTSD.

Her telling me, as she fought back the tears, of the numerous times she had to hold up phones for families to say goodbye to their dying relative on Zoom, was heartbreaking. The 14 hour shifts without a break (in full PPE), the endless sounds of people gasping for air, the never-ending cycle of resus. All of it was absolutely terrible. "It was like a war zone", she said.

When you hear this, how can you refuse the vaccine? We owe it to her and her colleagues, we owe it to the bereaved families - and we owe it to everyone in our community.

Stay safe everyone. Just get your jabs. Please.

We refuse to take part in this gene therapy experiment.

We are happy and confident that our own immune systems are strong enough.

We dont want or need any treatment for something that has such minuscule mortality rate.

Being so unselfish, we donate our jabs to those who have been convinced by the telly that they need one.

I think they should hold onto it. If only as a holding pen for the absolute weapons that would otherwise spill out on to the rest of the forums.

But you know that won't happen, and it still won't change the mind of those that still don't want the jab.

We have had ours done, as most of our family.

How others live thier life is entirely up to them.

How others live their lives is entirely up to them right up until they start making choices that harm or endanger other people, at which point things – like everything else in life – get rather more complicated.

There are some downsides

The data for Coronavirus mRNA jabs is updated weekly at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions

Report 13th May 2021

Pfizer – Total adverse reactions 165986 and 374 deaths

AstraZenica - Total adverse reactions 650681 and 786 deaths

These are the short term effects, which are know.

For longer term problems (thus far unknown unknown) perhaps consider this.

Sounds better than spreading Covid to others.

Looking forward to my next jab
