"Anyone living in Bolton can get vaccinated by 5pm today

Residents must be registered with a GP based in Bolton.

There are 4,000 vaccines which must be used today, according to councillor Andy Morgan."

its a bit short noticed surely

i hope they meant 4000 available for used and not that needed to be used or disposed of

would’ve made more sense to open up appointment all next week and let people get booked in

would be very keen for that to happen in glasgow now too

There seems to be very high uptake looking at the footage on the news of the queues at some of the vaccination centres in Bolton.

From the land of haribos.

I also think it is abit too short notice, if there is any left over, not just there but all around the uk. I think a good idea would be to send it to india to help them

Those who have the smallest risk , got more chance being run over by a tractor

Actually the group that is currently mostly unvaccinated is the highest risk of catching covid.

When they are “left over” it’s usually batches that are ready to be used and have a limited shelf life.

And let’s be honest, how are a few doses from an island as small as ours going to make a dent in a country as big as India. We will already be sending aid and supplies contrary to what the MSM will be telling you.

Sadly this is false and the councillor who posted it on social media had to delete it. Only those in eligible groups can be vaccinated in Bolton:

"Younger people cannot turn up and expect to get a Covid-19 vaccine in Bolton, despite reports suggesting “anyone” could queue for a jab.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has defended the approach of bringing forward second jabs, rather than speeding up the rollout to younger people.

Bolton Council has been pushing for those aged 18 and over to be vaccinated, and a councillor deleted a tweet on Saturday in which he claimed “anyone” with a Bolton postcode and registered with a Bolton GP could visit a vaccine bus and get jabbed."

People must be allowed to make up their own minds about this as with all medical treatment. We can't pretend that these vaccines are risk free (none are) so we all have to decide what's best for us rather than what some people want us to do perhaps because they've gone ahead. It's early days yet but serious side effects are appearing (albeit in fairly small numbers) so for all of those who demand everyone has the vaccine regardless, what are you going to say to those who have died or have been disabled as a result?

We would never dream of dictating to anyone what medical interventions they have.

well logic tells you not to run in front of a moving tractor, and the same logic says if you haven’t yet vaccinated your own citizens then there are no “leftovers” to send to other countries, and its probably not wise to have a free for all while you have a variant that they are at risk to

There was a large queue at the vaccine centre I worked at this morning and that was people who all had appointments. Not sure about the logistics around the bus one because it's not wheelchair accessible, so I steer clear

He told residents that if they make their way down “the team will find a reason to vaccinate you.”

While they were told they weren't allowed to, they are going ahead and vaccinating anyone who will turn up.

His comments online were deleted because the information was inaccurate. It remains the policy that only those in eligible groups are being vaccinated and they further said today was aimed at people in the BL3 and BL4 postcodes, where the spike is most obvious.

They remain optional and given only with consent. You may have missed the gist of the news.
