So now anyone can get a supply of lft how many people are doing it, and how often?
There's no excuse really for not testing as they can now be sent through the post. I think testing is just as important as getting vaccinated.
We are a family of 5. 1 wfh, 2 working, 2 at secondary school. We all test every 4 days.

work, before any shift at the vaccine clinic and as my daughter is at college. |

Never done one
I was even taken to Bedford Hospital by ambulance as i was having breathing problems, they never did a Covid test even though the reason they took me in was because of what i had being a symptom of Covid
I very rarely go past my front Garden though atm and only live with one other person who works and outdoor/socially distanced job anyway
Once Lockdown is over i wont be that fussed anyway |

yeah they all seem to have different rules. I have one clinic where I need to test when I get there and wait for the result. The other I dont even have to do one. |

Same we work 121 in full PPE.
I'm currently doing a 17 hr shift in the polling station today and we have to wear a mask and a face shield throughout.
Still have to do 3 covid tests a week or every 2 days at work on top of the PPE.

ive ordered some for at home but i tend to order my shopping online and i work from home so nowhere at the moment for me to catch it
rather than use them twice a week and waste the tests i was planning to use them whenever i have plans maybe before i head out and a few days after
given my next booking anywhere is 22nd may i dont imagine ill have to use them much |

We all test here twice a week (2 kids , 2 adults)...it has become a breakfast table ritual...just have to make sure they don't get muddled lol..
Testing not a problem but a bit of a phaff sending in all the results, especially as you have to do the Gov and school and work!!!
But worth all the effort |

I've done PCR tests when prompted by the Zoe app, haha.
(I did have a rapid test before I was formally enrolled on the clinical trial last week, too) |

I haven’t done a single test since the beginning. Neither has either of my kids been tested.

I got some in the post and started doing them as I'm going out a little bit more but not by much. It's reassurance that I'm ok plus I got my first vaccination today too x |

Do your kids not go to school? I could be wrong but aren't all kids tested now?
Also depending on where you work these days people are doing tests a few times a week..as will we all I imagine in one way or another in the very near future |

My organisation made doing a test a pre condition of attending a training course. One individual refused (citing all the usual conspiracy bollocks) and didn’t get to attend the course.
I wonder if attitudes to testing would change it this kind of rule became more widespread. |

The cost of finding out I have Covid and keeping my disease ridden butt at home is less than the cost of treating my Covid or the Covid of others I might infect. Further, by keeping my disease ridden butt at home, I help suppress the disease, and therefore do my bit to get the UK to a point where these economically ruinous public health measures are no longer necessary.

Randomly handing out LFT like candy is the biggest waste of public finances in the history of government!! Some people will cost the treasury more in LFT tests than they pay in in taxes! What make more sense is to send everyone in the country 2 tests and have 2 national test days 4 days apart. Repeat the exercise at a regional level where case loads remain above the average |

There's no justification for this wastefulness. People taking tests 'just to reassure thenselves' when they've had both vaccinations - it's absolute nonsense.

And asymptomatic infection? Which drives a lot of spread?
... I've taken one rapid test fwiw. It was a prerequisite for the clinical trial. In the last year I've taken two PCR tests when the symptom tracker app has told me I might have Covid. I'm not chewing them like gum  I work from home, I double mask, I barely go out, there's no need for me.
But for some there is a need, and discouraging testing means we don't know how bad the situation is, and we can't take appropriate action to counter it.
I also love how "doesn't agree with you" means "enjoying the pandemic" I did say it was a way out of this |

Google the nearest chemist ro you supplying them also. Theyre completely free aa with the government ones... Same test kit. Yiu can get 4 boxes dependent on house numbers |

I haven't, apart from a pcr at work (hospital admin - no patient contact by any of our department) when a colleague caught it. Work are offering lft on a voluntary basis and if I had elderly/vulnerable family members I would use them although the reliability is questionable

I don't see the point in testing, unless in a job/family situation where multiple people are meeting others on a regular basis. Just like STI tests, they are only as valid as your most recent contact. (and yes, STI tests are important, but only as effective as your most recent test).
I live alone, see others in pubs and as life happens. If i met someone (in regular life) who had a clear test 2 days ago, it doesn't mean much.
Be safe, move on. Why test, unless for work purposes? |
