I’ve just had a text from my gp. 2nd jab next Tuesday. I have an apartment booked in Spain for the first week in October.
That’s early enough for me. I don’t want to rub it in to much for you young uns |

"My second vaccine has been brought forward to next week (from 14th May) but Mr KC is yet to have the first. I might go it alone "
sounds like the perfect excuse for some solo relaxation |

Still no idea why I got mine. A wonky leg is not an at risk condition and they claimed in 2017 not to be able to find my heart murmur anymore! Oh well, I'd have had it anyway for volunteering so it doesn't really matter... I actually want to go and do a language immersion course but I think it'll be cancelled, unfortunately. |

Not for me for a while yet.. Too many uncertainties about this thing re igniting out there for me .. India for one!
If it happens though I would think testing will be mandatory for everyone on the way out and on the way back again .. And probably follow up tests after a few weeks when back in UK will be part of the whole deal .. With any quarantine costs either in UK or abroad paid for by the tourist.
We will know more about it all soon enough anyway.

Foreign travel for any purpose is probably unwise this year, even if you have been double jabbed.
To paraphrase Winston Churchill, we are currently at the end of the beginning; enough damage has currently been done, without new foreign strains being introduced.
Foreign travel is currently irresponsible. |

I will be going if allowed and if my insurance will cover. I guess it all depends on the traffic light system to be announced today.. However there is some talk of Spain and Greece being in the Amber. |

We went last year even though our insurance specifically excluded any covid related claims. So we weren't covered for any medical or repatriation bills.
The risk was low so we took it. |

"Why would anyone want to go away to places that have night time curfews just as the uk is opening up again just for some sun?"
Although the UK is a beautiful place to holiday there are way too many people here. Last year on the day there were 500,000 people on Bournemouth beach we saw 6 people in total in France. Most of them in the boulangerie when we bought a baguette. |

the weather for me, change of scenery and the sun on my skin just relaxes me, not all that fussed about being out late at night to get d*unk when i go on my own anyway |

A night time curfew wouldn't bother me as I would be going for a week of sunshine, sunbathing and swimming, not nightlife. |
