I knew someone would just go with the lead… but not listen to the rest of the answer… or jump the gun!
What is going to happen is there is going to be a booster programme, but it’s not been decided as to what it will be yet…. Because most will have had either Pfizer Pfizer or AZ AZ, so it’s logical to ask what shot 3 should be
So there is going to be trials which will cover all the difference vaccines out there to see which ones give you the best protection or the longest protection over the different variants…the answer may not be the same for both!
So they have ordered them just in case… but may not be the ones used… it could end up being AZ, or novamax ect… |

"
Pfizer doses will be used ****alongside other vaccines**** to ensure people have the strongest possible protection from COVID-19.
The UK has secured an extra 60 million Pfizer vaccine doses with a view to rolling them out as *****part of a booster campaign***** in the autumn, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said."
Yea. That's already in the story under the bit that says 'alongside' and 'part' . . .

"Another step closer to normality "
But so much more work, alongside the flu campaign, hope they are already doing trials to administer both together, rather than the current advice 7 days apart, we are knackered enough |

There's been discussion of both being co-delivered for a couple of months or so now, bypassing the current 7 days delay between them. |

Possibly by then if they think about it they could step back some NHS staff to give them a break and have more of the volunteers covering one or both? |

In my area, the GP sites are being asked to take over the national mass vaccination sites |

Does that mean an end to masks, social distance and a return to normal? Surely by jab #3 it'll be just like 2019 with full stadiums, pubs, clubs, public transport, beaches and shopping malls etc. An end to lockdowns, people back at work and school without restrictions? Or will it be 'wait until the vaccines for 2025 are developed....and on and on and on.

If all the pharmacies take over as planned for vaccinating in autumn then the strain should be eased, this was also in current trials, gov are in talks with the big supermarkets that have pharmacy's that already offer the flu jab |
