I took paracetamol for two days, just because I had a slight headache. I also felt a bit tired for two days, but that was all. My arm was sore for a week - but worth it to have the jab. |

I felt a bit off for a short while after I had mine but the bad is far outweighed by the good in my mind.
It's not full on flu type symptoms but you may feel a bit under the weather and it soon goes.
Paracetamol and plenty of water helps a lot |

I felt sick, tired and out of sorts for the night, was fine the next day then felt the same the next night, but after that fine. Mr Ruggers had the hot and cold sweats all through the first night and was fine the next day.
We are hoping none after the 2nd one |

I was quite ill after my first AZ jab, but i didn't mind as corona virus would probably kill me. It was made worse because i had it in my left arm and i have a rotator cuff injury there which was made almost unbearable after the jab. My physio said the pain was due to inflamation. |

Yep, have to admit I felt pretty damn bad after the first and that lasted about a week. I took comfort in the fact that at least it was working on me in some way or other. I also still have a lump at the injection site but just this week it has started to reduce noticeably so that's a relief. Just bring on number two! |

There is a difference between an effect and a side effect.
Feeling ill is an effect of the vaccine as the body recognises the virus and deploys its defenses to fight it.
Different defenses will be tried by your immune system, which explains the variation in the impacts on individuals.
A side effect would be your arm dropping off or bleeding from your ears. This would be unintended as it would not be down to the bodies immune system.
Effects and side effects, two different things but often everyone lumps a strong immune response into the side effect column. |

I had the AZ. 30hrs after the jab I had a bit of a temperature fluctuation, a bit cool so I put on a jumper, 30 mins later, a bit warm take off the jumper. 3 hours of this and I was fine, except for the jab site felt bruised when touched. But it is quite a deep injection so to be expected I guess. |

Following day, I felt fatigued to the point walking up stairs was followed by a sit down, achey, and had a mild headache. Started about 14 hours after the jab and lasted 12 more. Net day I was back to normal |

Exactly my experience. The short-term discomfort is well worth the long-term protection. |

Sore arm bit tender in the jab spot for a week.. Otherwise nothing.. Did you take some painkillers before the jab? Apparently it helps.. |

Had mine 5 weeks ago- was fine. Then had a work related injury more recently that required me to have a tetanus injection- I felt lethargic for 24hrs but fine after that. That’s just sometimes how vaccines affect people on an individual basis.
Despite all the media coverage of clots the AZ vaccine is still an amazing vaccine . Any vaccine is better than no vaccine. If you are offered a vaccine please take it. |

I’ve had both of the Astra jabs now. First one I had a mild headache for a day.
The second one I had, my whole body ached for a day and felt all fuzzy in the head but back to normal the day after.
All short term minor inconsistencies |

If it's any consolation, I've heard from a number of people that if you had a reaction to the first AZ jab, then you have no or minimal reaction to the second. |

I was unwell for a few days, only had the one jab so far, after a few hours of having it I got headache and felt tired, that night I got high temp was hot and cold, lethargic and my arm was sore. Took a week for the soreness in my arm to go.
My sister who was hospitalised last year with covid had the same injection and was absolutely fine |

I felt utterly terrible for 3 days and nights after my 1st jab of the Astra Oxford vaccine.
It was worse than any flu I've ever had, I've never felt so cold! I was literally shaking whilst wrapped up in loads of layers of clothes plus a dressing gown, hunched infront of our gas fire set at maximum for hours upon hours. Still nothing seemed to help against the chill right down to my bones that I was feeling.
More than been painful per say, it was for me at least a great fatigue and a sense of weakness I've never experienced before.
It wasn't until day 4 that I started to improve and a full week before really feeling normal again.
Even now 3 weeks later I'm still not 100% right, its almost like a long covid version of the vaccine. Not good when my job is very busy / demanding atm.
I'm not going to lie I'm scared shitless of getting my 2nd AZ Oxford jab now.
I'm even thinking of registering for the mixed vaccine trial. A friend said even if you have already had the 1st jab you can still join the mixed vaccine trial and get a different vaccine for your 2nd jab. Does anyone know anything about this?

I wonder what people are going to do when they realise that once they have had both jabs they still wont be allowed to meet others, will still have to muffle shout from 2 metres away and will still have to wear their muzzles, whilst not being fully protected and will still be able to pass on the virus to others. Interesting times are ahead. X |

For three weeks I was pretty poorly with:
- Bad headaches that wouldn't shift with paracetamol or ibuprofen
- Fatigue
- Muscles Aches
- Decreased Appetite
- Abdominal Pains
Even now I still don't feel like my appetite has returned to normal and occasionally get bad muscle aches again. |

From experience, doctors are only worried about potential blood clots if you experience any neurological symptoms such as dizzyness, numbness or pins and needles. I've suffered badly from the first vaccine and was advised to call 999 if I experienced any of those. |

Exactly 12 hours after the 1st AZ jab, I felt a bit "out of sorts". Hard to describe but it was like a hangover (Not had one of those for real for over 20 years). But how I remember it at least. Headache, general lethargy. Took paracetamol for the rest of the day, every 4 hours. (2 doses basically).
Slept 8 hours and woke up weary but fine.
No sore arm at all. |

We had the first jab earlier this week and the Mrs had a bad reaction with swelling in the arm and hot and cold flushes. Mr had the injection and had a slight fever the first night but was ok the next day. Although both slightly fatigued.
As they say a small price to pay for freedom and would not put us off having the second one as looking forward to normality and walking back into the clubs we both love. xx |

Yeah, sick for 2 days then left a bit painful in wrists elbows knees, burning feeling in soles and palms unfortunately. Apparently im at risk from 4 hours to a month after vaccination so ive till a week on Thursday before i should be in the clear, i think I'll ask for something different next time...
Doc has taken a blood test to check so hope I'll be ok.
My hands and feet have a burning sensation
Just hope i don't collapse behind kitchen table and a hairy clawed hand appears and i grow fangs and fury ears

I was a little rough fir 24 hours my 20year old was really bad for 2 days afterwards, very high fever and sweating like malaria, that bad almost took her A&E. From what we been told since you get a bad reaction like that to the AZ vaccine if you’ve had covid already |

I had my first 3 weeks ago. Had a reaction within 10 minutes and had to stay at the vaccination centre to keep an eye on me. Hot flush and needles all over. Then wiped out for 3 days with flu like symptoms. Desperately tired for about 2 weeks but all OK now. Nothing that can't be handled with a few paracetamol and some early nights and late mornings. Glad I had it and roll on the 2nd jab in June. |

I must add I do have a history of allergy and reaction. I have anaphylaxis to NSAIDS and carry an epipen. So I consider I am pretty much at the higher end of being reactive to the vaccination. I survived with minor effect so I recommended everyone do the right thing and get the jabs. |

Arm hurting is common in jabs as it depends on the skills of the person who is giving it . Mine didn't hurt at all.
