Mourners coming from outside England
If you have travelled to England from any country that is not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate, you are required to self-isolate from arrival and for the first full 10 days after you arrive. However, you can leave your place of self-isolation in limited circumstances, including on compassionate grounds. This includes attending a funeral of a household member, a close family member or a friend (if neither household member or close family member can attend the funeral).
You must continue to self-isolate at all other times.
If you are arriving from a country that is not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate, you may be able to leave self-isolation at an earlier stage if you have participated in the Test to Release for International Travel Scheme. |

I'm sure if he had wanted to he could have had special treatment but the fact that Windsor castle scaled back the funeral to meet current guidelines means they are behaving the same as anyone else.
He arrived Sunday so he can do his isolation. Its 10 days but you can fast track with negative tests and as someone else said there are exemptions on compassionate grounds |

I am flying in from the states tomorrow, I leave today.
I have had to provide a negative covid test from last 72hours and I'll be isolating (not in a hotel for ten days. I also have to do day 2 and day 8 private covid tests and the whole test malarkey including the US tests had cost me about £350
The most annoying thing is I caught covid in the USA. They say you are immune for about 6 months yet I still have to do all this despite that. Contacted UK to see if antibody evidence test and written confirmation from doctor was ok - definite no was the reply
(Finally a post I didn't fuck up! ) |
