I am in a proffession where I have to do bi weekly lateral flow tests.
Have been doing this ever since the beginning of March and it's not pleasant.
I have to do it again this morning.
For a person who has a bad gag reflex I dislike doing the tonsil swab as I do retch a lot.
Yet I think the nasal swabbing for me is worse. It ALWAYS makes me sneeze multiple times.
Feels like a fly buzzing around and tickling the inside of your nose.
( never a sensation that anyone normally has!)
I realise the importance of this but is anyone else absolutely sick of having to do these tests? |

They are a crutch for me, after seeing all the parents mixing my twice weekly negative test is worth the discomfort, I do alternate the sides I do it on with my mouth and nose so I'm not irritating the same spot |

The ones I have are nasal only. Like you, makes me sneeze like mad. Only ever done one which had to go in my throat too. Tests are uncomfortable but I'm happy/relieved to do them as it gives me peace of mind |

Me. I get tested 4 times a week and dislike it. This is still ongoing despite having my 2 jabs. We also need to arrive at work 30mins early to do these tests and not getting paid for this time. I am beginning to despise these tests. |

We both do them twice weekly as well. Although a little ‘uncomfortable’ to do , the biggest ball ache is reporting the results. There always seems to be a problem with the website or the tester won’t scan . A right pain . We have telephoned the result through. Took about 15 minutes to register it ! . Let’s face it who’s going to bother doing that every time they take a test ! . |

I do them twice a week as well. I am really pleased I can do them but at the same time I’m fed up of recording them on the website.
You do a test, log on, report you’re negative then they send you a text telling you you’re negative. I know, I reported it, I know I’m negative
I can’t swab my throat anymore so I just have nasal swabs and they still make me sneeze and make my eyes water.

"Never been tested so wouldn't know, doesn't sound very nice though." how have you never been tested... ?
OP. I dont find them too bad. I'm doing home tests 3 to 4 times a week and ones I send off once or twice a week.
My daughter has to have them too and she is 14 and finds them okay. |

"Have to do it for work .
We did a 6 day testing using different products
Coffee/tea /juice /water / test liquid and ever one came back negative are they as good as they so called make out ?"
Were the results negative because there was no Covid in the liquids you were testing ? |

Lol we all have to do them bi-weekly here and they’re really no problem. It’s over and done inside a quick and easy minute. Quit finding something to whine about. |

Am I missing something? why do you need to report a negative test? |

We do them as part of the school, twice a week so they need to know we are testing and all was fine. |

there is a trick meant to get rid of your gag reflex that i have seen in social media, something to do with pushing pressure points on the palm of your hand
i think it was suggested for naughty stuff but might be worth it for people struggling with this - i’m sure it will be about on google |

Thanks for the feedback!
We are also doing them in school with kids, they are only doing the nasal test as there is no way those I work with would let anyone put something in their mouth (you could loose a finger!)Staff test at home, It is good for some piece of mind at least |

Crikey. The kids do it themselves under supervision and a mirror, no chance of lost fingers. About half of the parents have agreed to do it to, so just be one part of home routine.
Precisely that, peace of mind. My lad does his Mondays and Thursdays and I do mine Wednesday and Saturdays, so most of the week is covered. |

My daughter is autistic and doesn't like any physical contact. She can't even have a shower because she can't bare the feeling of the water bouncing off her so she has to have baths. Yet she has no problem whatsoever doing the Covid home tests (throat and nose) twice a week. I was really suprised. |

The lava tests are probably the least intrusive swab tests going. Having had to do the original swabs on a weekly basis which feel like someone’s taking a brain sample from you I don’t struggle with them in the slightest to be honest. |
